These duas can help for the following situations:

  • Dua For Removing Hardships
  • For Overcoming Distress
  • Ask Allah For Ease
  • For Difficulties in Marriage and in Life

It’s a great step forward that you’re searching and looking for an answer which is how you came across the article. Typically, when you’re resisting something in your reality you’re shying away from it. This is why they say what you resist persists.

People who do this have a tendency to be complainers and resent it or protest against it. These emotions do not help channel your energy and your focus to solving the problem.

In the Quran Surah Baqarah ayah 216 Allah says, “Fighting has been enjoined upon you while it is hateful to you. But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah Knows, while you know not.”

We must learn to embrace our reality and accept our fate. It can be difficult but we must not fall into the ‘woe is me’ mentality. Yes, there are real tragedies, hardships, and adversities but if you can take power into your hands by accepting responsibility it can help you take the first step forward.

Take refuge and seek comfort in Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala with the following duas:

Dua For Overcoming Hardship and Adversity:

The first dua we’ll cover is straight from the Quran in Surah Anbiya where it gives some details about the story of Prophet Yunus

Ayat 87 it says, “And [mention] the man of the fish, when he went off in anger and thought that We would not decree [anything] upon him. And he called out within the darknesses…

لَّآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنتَ سُبْحَٰنَكَ إِنِّى كُنتُ مِنَ ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ

Transliteration: la ilaha illa anta subhanaka inneekuntu mina aththalimeen
Translation: There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers.

and in the next ayat 88 it continues “So We responded to him and saved him from the distress. And thus do We save the believers.”

This dua is also confirmed in Jami At-Tirmidhi book 48 hadith 136. Ibrahim bin Muhammad bin Sa`d narrated from his father, from Sa`d that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “The supplication of Dhun-Nun (Prophet Yunus) when he supplicated, while in the belly of the whale was: ‘There is none worthy of worship except You, Glory to You, Indeed, I have been of the transgressors. (La ilaha illa anta subhanaka inni kuntu minaẓ-ẓalimin) So indeed, no Muslim man supplicates with it for anything, ever, except Allah responds to him.”
