وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَرْجُونَ لِقَآءَنَا لَوْلَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْنَا ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ أَوْ نَرَىٰ رَبَّنَا ۗ لَقَدِ ٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ فِىٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ وَعَتَوْ عُتُوًّۭا كَبِيرًۭا
25:21play_arrow
Wa qaalal lazeena laa yarjoona liqaaa’anaa law laaa unzila ‘alainal malaaa’ikatu awnaraa Rabbanaa; laqadistakbaroo feee anfusihim wa ‘ataw ‘utuwwan kabeeraa
Sahih International:
And those who do not expect the meeting with Us say, “Why were not angels sent down to us, or [why] do we [not] see our Lord?” They have certainly become arrogant within themselves and [become] insolent with great insolence.
يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَ لَا بُشْرَىٰ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُجْرِمِينَ وَيَقُولُونَ حِجْرًۭا مَّحْجُورًۭا
25:22play_arrow
Yawma yarawnal malaaa ‘ikata laa bushraa Yawmaizin lil mujrimeena wa yaqooloona hijran mahjooraa
Sahih International:
The day they see the angels – no good tidings will there be that day for the criminals, and [the angels] will say, “Prevented and inaccessible.”
وَقَدِمْنَآ إِلَىٰ مَا عَمِلُوا۟ مِنْ عَمَلٍۢ فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُ هَبَآءًۭ مَّنثُورًا
25:23play_arrow
Wa qadimnaaa ilaa maa ‘amiloo min ‘amalin faja’alnaahuhabaaa’an manthooraa
Sahih International:
And We will regard what they have done of deeds and make them as dust dispersed.
أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْجَنَّةِ يَوْمَئِذٍ خَيْرٌۭ مُّسْتَقَرًّۭا وَأَحْسَنُ مَقِيلًۭا
25:24play_arrow
As haabul jannati yawma’izin khairun mustaqar ranw wa ahsanu maqeela
Sahih International:
The companions of Paradise, that Day, are [in] a better settlement and better resting place.
وَيَوْمَ تَشَقَّقُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ بِٱلْغَمَـٰمِ وَنُزِّلَ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ تَنزِيلًا
25:25play_arrow
Wa Yawma tashaqqaqus samaaa’u bilghamaami wa nuzzilal malaaa’ikatu tanzeela
Sahih International:
And [mention] the Day when the heaven will split open with [emerging] clouds, and the angels will be sent down in successive descent.
ٱلْمُلْكُ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْحَقُّ لِلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ۚ وَكَانَ يَوْمًا عَلَى ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ عَسِيرًۭا
25:26play_arrow
Almulku Yawma’izinil haqqu lir Rahmaan; wa kaana Yawman’alal kaafireena ‘aseeraa
Sahih International:
True sovereignty, that Day, is for the Most Merciful. And it will be upon the disbelievers a difficult Day.
وَيَوْمَ يَعَضُّ ٱلظَّالِمُ عَلَىٰ يَدَيْهِ يَقُولُ يَـٰلَيْتَنِى ٱتَّخَذْتُ مَعَ ٱلرَّسُولِ سَبِيلًۭا
25:27play_arrow
Wa Yawma ya’adduz zaalimu ‘alaa yadaihi yaqoolu yaa laitanit takhaztu ma’ar Rasooli sabeelaa
Sahih International:
And the Day the wrongdoer will bite on his hands [in regret] he will say, “Oh, I wish I had taken with the Messenger a way.
يَـٰوَيْلَتَىٰ لَيْتَنِى لَمْ أَتَّخِذْ فُلَانًا خَلِيلًۭا
25:28play_arrow
Yaa wailataa laitanee lam attakhiz fulaanan khaleelaa
Sahih International:
Oh, woe to me! I wish I had not taken that one as a friend.
لَّقَدْ أَضَلَّنِى عَنِ ٱلذِّكْرِ بَعْدَ إِذْ جَآءَنِى ۗ وَكَانَ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ لِلْإِنسَـٰنِ خَذُولًۭا
25:29play_arrow
Laqad adallanee ‘aniz zikri ba’da iz jaaa’anee; wa kaanash Shaitaanu lil insaani khazoolaa
Sahih International:
He led me away from the remembrance after it had come to me. And ever is Satan, to man, a deserter.”
وَقَالَ ٱلرَّسُولُ يَـٰرَبِّ إِنَّ قَوْمِى ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ هَـٰذَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ مَهْجُورًۭا
25:30play_arrow
Wa qaalar Rasoolu yaa Rabbi inna qawmit takhazoo haazal Qur’aana mahjooraa
Sahih International:
And the Messenger has said, “O my Lord, indeed my people have taken this Qur’an as [a thing] abandoned.”
وَكَذَٰلِكَ جَعَلْنَا لِكُلِّ نَبِىٍّ عَدُوًّۭا مِّنَ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ ۗ وَكَفَىٰ بِرَبِّكَ هَادِيًۭا وَنَصِيرًۭا
25:31play_arrow
Wa kazaalika ja’alnaa likulli Nabiyyin ‘aduwwan minal mujrimeen; wa kafaa bi Rabbika haadiyanw wa naseeraa
Sahih International:
And thus have We made for every prophet an enemy from among the criminals. But sufficient is your Lord as a guide and a helper.
وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَوْلَا نُزِّلَ عَلَيْهِ ٱلْقُرْءَانُ جُمْلَةًۭ وَٰحِدَةًۭ ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ لِنُثَبِّتَ بِهِۦ فُؤَادَكَ ۖ وَرَتَّلْنَـٰهُ تَرْتِيلًۭا
25:32play_arrow
Wa qaalal lazeena kafaroo law laa nuzzila ‘alaihil Qur’aanu jumlatanw waahidah; kazaalika linusabbita bihee fu’aadaka wa rattalnaahu tarteelaa
Sahih International:
And those who disbelieve say, “Why was the Qur’an not revealed to him all at once?” Thus [it is] that We may strengthen thereby your heart. And We have spaced it distinctly.
وَلَا يَأْتُونَكَ بِمَثَلٍ إِلَّا جِئْنَـٰكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَأَحْسَنَ تَفْسِيرًا
25:33play_arrow
Wa laa ya’toonaka bi masalin illaa ji’naaka bilhaqqi wa ahsana tafseeraa
Sahih International:
And they do not come to you with an argument except that We bring you the truth and the best explanation.
ٱلَّذِينَ يُحْشَرُونَ عَلَىٰ وُجُوهِهِمْ إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ شَرٌّۭ مَّكَانًۭا وَأَضَلُّ سَبِيلًۭا
25:34play_arrow
Allazeena yuhsharoona ‘alaa wujoohihim ilaa jahannama ulaaa’ika sharrun makaananw wa adallu sabeelaa (section 3)
Sahih International:
The ones who are gathered on their faces to Hell – those are the worst in position and farthest astray in [their] way.
وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَى ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ وَجَعَلْنَا مَعَهُۥٓ أَخَاهُ هَـٰرُونَ وَزِيرًۭا
25:35play_arrow
Wa laqad aatainaa Moosal Kitaaba wa ja’alnaa ma’ahooo akhaahu Haaroona wazeeraa
Sahih International:
And We had certainly given Moses the Scripture and appointed with him his brother Aaron as an assistant.
فَقُلْنَا ٱذْهَبَآ إِلَى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا فَدَمَّرْنَـٰهُمْ تَدْمِيرًۭا
25:36play_arrow
Faqulnaz habaaa ilal qawmil lazeena kazzaboo bi Aayaatinaa fadammarnaahum tadmeeraa
Sahih International:
And We said, “Go both of you to the people who have denied Our signs.” Then We destroyed them with [complete] destruction.
وَقَوْمَ نُوحٍۢ لَّمَّا كَذَّبُوا۟ ٱلرُّسُلَ أَغْرَقْنَـٰهُمْ وَجَعَلْنَـٰهُمْ لِلنَّاسِ ءَايَةًۭ ۖ وَأَعْتَدْنَا لِلظَّـٰلِمِينَ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًۭا
25:37play_arrow
Wa qawma Noohin lammaa kazzabur Rusula aghraqnaahum wa ja’alnaahum linnaasi Aayatanw wa a’tadnaa lizzaalimeena ‘azaaban aleemaa
Sahih International:
And the people of Noah – when they denied the messengers, We drowned them, and We made them for mankind a sign. And We have prepared for the wrongdoers a painful punishment.
وَعَادًۭا وَثَمُودَا۟ وَأَصْحَـٰبَ ٱلرَّسِّ وَقُرُونًۢا بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ كَثِيرًۭا
25:38play_arrow
Wa ‘Aadanw wa Samooda wa As haabar Rassi wa quroonan baina zaalika katheeraa
Sahih International:
And [We destroyed] ‘Aad and Thamud and the companions of the well and many generations between them.
وَكُلًّۭا ضَرَبْنَا لَهُ ٱلْأَمْثَـٰلَ ۖ وَكُلًّۭا تَبَّرْنَا تَتْبِيرًۭا
25:39play_arrow
Wa kullan darabnaa lahul amsaala wa kullan tabbarnaa tatbeera
Sahih International:
And for each We presented examples [as warnings], and each We destroyed with [total] destruction.
وَلَقَدْ أَتَوْا۟ عَلَى ٱلْقَرْيَةِ ٱلَّتِىٓ أُمْطِرَتْ مَطَرَ ٱلسَّوْءِ ۚ أَفَلَمْ يَكُونُوا۟ يَرَوْنَهَا ۚ بَلْ كَانُوا۟ لَا يَرْجُونَ نُشُورًۭا
25:40play_arrow
Wa laqad ataw ‘alal qaryatil lateee umtirat mataras saw’; afalam yakoonoo yarawnahaa; bal kaanoo laa yarjoona nushooraa
Sahih International:
And they have already come upon the town which was showered with a rain of evil. So have they not seen it? But they are not expecting resurrection.
وَإِذَا رَأَوْكَ إِن يَتَّخِذُونَكَ إِلَّا هُزُوًا أَهَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِى بَعَثَ ٱللَّهُ رَسُولًا
25:41play_arrow
Wa izaa ra awka iny yattakhizoonaka illaa huzuwan ahaazal lazee ba’asal laahu Rasoolaa
Sahih International:
And when they see you, [O Muhammad], they take you not except in ridicule, [saying], “Is this the one whom Allah has sent as a messenger?
إِن كَادَ لَيُضِلُّنَا عَنْ ءَالِهَتِنَا لَوْلَآ أَن صَبَرْنَا عَلَيْهَا ۚ وَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ حِينَ يَرَوْنَ ٱلْعَذَابَ مَنْ أَضَلُّ سَبِيلًا
25:42play_arrow
In kaada la yudillunaa ‘an aalihatinaa law laaa an sabarnaa ‘alaihaa; wa sawfa ya’lamoona heena yarawnal ‘azaaba man adallu sabeela
Sahih International:
He almost would have misled us from our gods had we not been steadfast in [worship of] them.” But they are going to know, when they see the punishment, who is farthest astray in [his] way.
أَرَءَيْتَ مَنِ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَـٰهَهُۥ هَوَىٰهُ أَفَأَنتَ تَكُونُ عَلَيْهِ وَكِيلًا
25:43play_arrow
Ara’aita manit takhaza ilaahahoo hawaahu afa anta takoonu ‘alaihi wakeelaa
Sahih International:
Have you seen the one who takes as his god his own desire? Then would you be responsible for him?
أَمْ تَحْسَبُ أَنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ يَسْمَعُونَ أَوْ يَعْقِلُونَ ۚ إِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا كَٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِ ۖ بَلْ هُمْ أَضَلُّ سَبِيلًا
25:44play_arrow
Am tahsabu anna aksarahum yasma’oona aw ya’qiloon; in hum illaa kal an’aami bal hum adallu sabeelaa (section 4)
Sahih International:
Or do you think that most of them hear or reason? They are not except like livestock. Rather, they are [even] more astray in [their] way.
أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَيْفَ مَدَّ ٱلظِّلَّ وَلَوْ شَآءَ لَجَعَلَهُۥ سَاكِنًۭا ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَا ٱلشَّمْسَ عَلَيْهِ دَلِيلًۭا
25:45play_arrow
Alam tara ilaa Rabbika kaifa maddaz zilla wa law shaaa’a la ja’alahoo saakinan thumma ja’alnash shamsa ‘alaihi daleelaa
Sahih International:
Have you not considered your Lord – how He extends the shadow, and if He willed, He could have made it stationary? Then We made the sun for it an indication.
ثُمَّ قَبَضْنَـٰهُ إِلَيْنَا قَبْضًۭا يَسِيرًۭا
25:46play_arrow
Thumma qabadnaahu ilainaa qabdany yaseeraa
Sahih International:
Then We hold it in hand for a brief grasp.
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلَّيْلَ لِبَاسًۭا وَٱلنَّوْمَ سُبَاتًۭا وَجَعَلَ ٱلنَّهَارَ نُشُورًۭا
25:47play_arrow
Wa Huwal lazee ja’ala lakumul laila libaasanw wannawma subaatanw wa ja’alan nahaara nushooraa
Sahih International:
And it is He who has made the night for you as clothing and sleep [a means for] rest and has made the day a resurrection.
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَرْسَلَ ٱلرِّيَـٰحَ بُشْرًۢا بَيْنَ يَدَىْ رَحْمَتِهِۦ ۚ وَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءًۭ طَهُورًۭا
25:48play_arrow
Wa Huwal lazeee arsalar riyaaha bushran baina yadai rahmatih; wa anzalnaa minas samaaa’i maaa’an tahooraa
Sahih International:
And it is He who sends the winds as good tidings before His mercy, and We send down from the sky pure water
لِّنُحْـِۧىَ بِهِۦ بَلْدَةًۭ مَّيْتًۭا وَنُسْقِيَهُۥ مِمَّا خَلَقْنَآ أَنْعَـٰمًۭا وَأَنَاسِىَّ كَثِيرًۭا
25:49play_arrow
Linuhyiya bihee baldatan maitanw-wa nusqiyahoo mimmaa khalaqnaaa an’aamanw wa anaasiyya katheeraa
Sahih International:
That We may bring to life thereby a dead land and give it as drink to those We created of numerous livestock and men.
وَلَقَدْ صَرَّفْنَـٰهُ بَيْنَهُمْ لِيَذَّكَّرُوا۟ فَأَبَىٰٓ أَكْثَرُ ٱلنَّاسِ إِلَّا كُفُورًۭا
25:50play_arrow
Wa laqad sarrafnaahu bainahum li yazzakkaroo fa abaaa aksarun naasi illaa kufooraa
Sahih International:
And We have certainly distributed it among them that they might be reminded, but most of the people refuse except disbelief.
وَلَوْ شِئْنَا لَبَعَثْنَا فِى كُلِّ قَرْيَةٍۢ نَّذِيرًۭا
25:51play_arrow
Wa law shi’naa laba’asnaa fee kulli qaryatin nazeeraa
Sahih International:
And if We had willed, We could have sent into every city a warner.
فَلَا تُطِعِ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ وَجَـٰهِدْهُم بِهِۦ جِهَادًۭا كَبِيرًۭا
25:52play_arrow
Falaa tuti’il kaafireena wa jaahidhum bihee jihaadan kabeeraa
Sahih International:
So do not obey the disbelievers, and strive against them with the Qur’an a great striving.
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى مَرَجَ ٱلْبَحْرَيْنِ هَـٰذَا عَذْبٌۭ فُرَاتٌۭ وَهَـٰذَا مِلْحٌ أُجَاجٌۭ وَجَعَلَ بَيْنَهُمَا بَرْزَخًۭا وَحِجْرًۭا مَّحْجُورًۭا
25:53play_arrow
Wa Huwal lazee marajal bahraini haazaa ‘azbun furaatunw wa haazaa milhun ujaaj; wa ja’ala bainahumaa barzakhanw wa hijran mahjooraa
Sahih International:
And it is He who has released [simultaneously] the two seas, one fresh and sweet and one salty and bitter, and He placed between them a barrier and prohibiting partition.
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ مِنَ ٱلْمَآءِ بَشَرًۭا فَجَعَلَهُۥ نَسَبًۭا وَصِهْرًۭا ۗ وَكَانَ رَبُّكَ قَدِيرًۭا
25:54play_arrow
Wa Huwal lazee khalaqa minal maaa’i basharan fa ja’alahoo nasaban wa sihraa; wa kaana Rabbuka Qadeeraa
Sahih International:
And it is He who has created from water a human being and made him [a relative by] lineage and marriage. And ever is your Lord competent [concerning creation].
وَيَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا يَنفَعُهُمْ وَلَا يَضُرُّهُمْ ۗ وَكَانَ ٱلْكَافِرُ عَلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ ظَهِيرًۭا
25:55play_arrow
Wa ya’budoona min doonil laahi maa laa yanfa’uhum wa laa yadurruhum; wa kaanal kaafiru ‘alaa Rabbihee zaheeraa
Sahih International:
But they worship rather than Allah that which does not benefit them or harm them, and the disbeliever is ever, against his Lord, an assistant [to Satan].
وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَـٰكَ إِلَّا مُبَشِّرًۭا وَنَذِيرًۭا
25:56play_arrow
Wa maa arsalnaaka illaa mubashshiranw wa nazeeraa
Sahih International:
And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a bringer of good tidings and a warner.
قُلْ مَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ إِلَّا مَن شَآءَ أَن يَتَّخِذَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِۦ سَبِيلًۭا
25:57play_arrow
Qul maaa as’alukum ‘alaihi min ajrin illaa man shaaa’a ai yattakhiza ilaa Rabbihee sabeelaa
Sahih International:
Say, “I do not ask of you for it any payment – only that whoever wills might take to his Lord a way.”
وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱلْحَىِّ ٱلَّذِى لَا يَمُوتُ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِهِۦ ۚ وَكَفَىٰ بِهِۦ بِذُنُوبِ عِبَادِهِۦ خَبِيرًا
25:58play_arrow
Wa tawakkal ‘alal Haiyil lazee laa yamootu wa sabbih bihamdih; wa kafaa bihee bizunoobi ‘ibaadihee khabeeraa
Sahih International:
And rely upon the Ever-Living who does not die, and exalt [Allah] with His praise. And sufficient is He to be, with the sins of His servants, Acquainted –
ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا فِى سِتَّةِ أَيَّامٍۢ ثُمَّ ٱسْتَوَىٰ عَلَى ٱلْعَرْشِ ۚ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ فَسْـَٔلْ بِهِۦ خَبِيرًۭا
25:59play_arrow
Allazee khalaqas samaawaati wal arda wa maa bainahumaa fee sittati aiyaamin thumma stawaa ‘alal ‘Arsh; ar Rahmaanu fas’al bihee khabeeraa
Sahih International:
He who created the heavens and the earth and what is between them in six days and then established Himself above the Throne – the Most Merciful, so ask about Him one well informed.
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱسْجُدُوا۟ لِلرَّحْمَـٰنِ قَالُوا۟ وَمَا ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ أَنَسْجُدُ لِمَا تَأْمُرُنَا وَزَادَهُمْ نُفُورًۭا
25:60play_arrow
Wa izaa qeela lahumus judoo lir Rahmaani qaaloo wa mar Rahmaanu ‘a nasjudu limaa ta’murunaa wa zaadahum nufooraa (section 5) (make sajda)
Sahih International:
And when it is said to them, “Prostrate to the Most Merciful,” they say, “And what is the Most Merciful? Should we prostrate to that which you order us?” And it increases them in aversion.
تَبَارَكَ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ فِى ٱلسَّمَآءِ بُرُوجًۭا وَجَعَلَ فِيهَا سِرَٰجًۭا وَقَمَرًۭا مُّنِيرًۭا
25:61play_arrow
Tabaarakal lazee ja’ala fis samaaa’i buroojanw wa ja’ala feehaa siraajanw wa qamaran muneeraa
Sahih International:
Blessed is He who has placed in the sky great stars and placed therein a [burning] lamp and luminous moon.
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ ٱلَّيْلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ خِلْفَةًۭ لِّمَنْ أَرَادَ أَن يَذَّكَّرَ أَوْ أَرَادَ شُكُورًۭا
25:62play_arrow
Wa huwal lazee ja’alal laila wannahaara khilfatan liman araada ‘any yazzakkara aw araadaa shukooraa
Sahih International:
And it is He who has made the night and the day in succession for whoever desires to remember or desires gratitude.
وَعِبَادُ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلَّذِينَ يَمْشُونَ عَلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ هَوْنًۭا وَإِذَا خَاطَبَهُمُ ٱلْجَـٰهِلُونَ قَالُوا۟ سَلَـٰمًۭا
25:63play_arrow
Wa ‘ibaadur Rahmaanil lazeena yamshoona ‘alal ardi hawnanw wa izaa khaata bahumul jaahiloona qaaloo salaamaa
Sahih International:
And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth easily, and when the ignorant address them [harshly], they say [words of] peace,
وَٱلَّذِينَ يَبِيتُونَ لِرَبِّهِمْ سُجَّدًۭا وَقِيَـٰمًۭا
25:64play_arrow
Wallazeena yabeetoona li Rabbihim sujjadanw wa qiyaamaa
Sahih International:
And those who spend [part of] the night to their Lord prostrating and standing [in prayer]
وَٱلَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا ٱصْرِفْ عَنَّا عَذَابَ جَهَنَّمَ ۖ إِنَّ عَذَابَهَا كَانَ غَرَامًا
25:65play_arrow
Wallazeena yaqooloona Rabbanas rif ‘annaa ‘azaaba Jahannama inna ‘azaabahaa kaana gharaamaa
Sahih International:
And those who say, “Our Lord, avert from us the punishment of Hell. Indeed, its punishment is ever adhering;
إِنَّهَا سَآءَتْ مُسْتَقَرًّۭا وَمُقَامًۭا
25:66play_arrow
Innahaa saaa’at mustaqarranw wa muqaamaa
Sahih International:
Indeed, it is evil as a settlement and residence.”
وَٱلَّذِينَ إِذَآ أَنفَقُوا۟ لَمْ يُسْرِفُوا۟ وَلَمْ يَقْتُرُوا۟ وَكَانَ بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ قَوَامًۭا
25:67play_arrow
Wallazeena izaaa anfaqoo lam yusrifoo wa lam yaqturoo wa kaana baina zaalika qawaamaa
Sahih International:
And [they are] those who, when they spend, do so not excessively or sparingly but are ever, between that, [justly] moderate
وَٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَدْعُونَ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ وَلَا يَقْتُلُونَ ٱلنَّفْسَ ٱلَّتِى حَرَّمَ ٱللَّهُ إِلَّا بِٱلْحَقِّ وَلَا يَزْنُونَ ۚ وَمَن يَفْعَلْ ذَٰلِكَ يَلْقَ أَثَامًۭا
25:68play_arrow
Wallazeena laa yad’oona ma’al laahi ilaahan aakhara wa laa yaqtuloonan nafsal latee harramal laahu illaa bilhaqqi wa laa yaznoon; wa mai yaf’al zaalika yalqa ‘athaamaa
Sahih International:
And those who do not invoke with Allah another deity or kill the soul which Allah has forbidden [to be killed], except by right, and do not commit unlawful sexual intercourse. And whoever should do that will meet a penalty.
يُضَـٰعَفْ لَهُ ٱلْعَذَابُ يَوْمَ ٱلْقِيَـٰمَةِ وَيَخْلُدْ فِيهِۦ مُهَانًا
25:69play_arrow
Yudaa’af lahul ‘azaabu Yawmal Qiyaamati wa yakhlud feehee muhaanaa
Sahih International:
Multiplied for him is the punishment on the Day of Resurrection, and he will abide therein humiliated –
إِلَّا مَن تَابَ وَءَامَنَ وَعَمِلَ عَمَلًۭا صَـٰلِحًۭا فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ يُبَدِّلُ ٱللَّهُ سَيِّـَٔاتِهِمْ حَسَنَـٰتٍۢ ۗ وَكَانَ ٱللَّهُ غَفُورًۭا رَّحِيمًۭا
25:70play_arrow
Illaa man taaba wa ‘aamana wa ‘amila ‘amalan saalihan fa ulaaa’ika yubad dilul laahu saiyi aatihim hasanaat; wa kaanal laahu Ghafoorar Raheemaa
Sahih International:
Except for those who repent, believe and do righteous work. For them Allah will replace their evil deeds with good. And ever is Allah Forgiving and Merciful.
وَمَن تَابَ وَعَمِلَ صَـٰلِحًۭا فَإِنَّهُۥ يَتُوبُ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ مَتَابًۭا
25:71play_arrow
Wa man taaba wa ‘amila saalihan fa innahoo yatoobu ilal laahi mataabaa
Sahih International:
And he who repents and does righteousness does indeed turn to Allah with [accepted] repentance.
وَٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَشْهَدُونَ ٱلزُّورَ وَإِذَا مَرُّوا۟ بِٱللَّغْوِ مَرُّوا۟ كِرَامًۭا
25:72play_arrow
Wallazeena laa yash hadoonaz zoora wa izaa marroo billaghwi marroo kiraamaa
Sahih International:
And [they are] those who do not testify to falsehood, and when they pass near ill speech, they pass by with dignity.
وَٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا ذُكِّرُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ لَمْ يَخِرُّوا۟ عَلَيْهَا صُمًّۭا وَعُمْيَانًۭا
25:73play_arrow
Wallazeena izaa zukkiroo bi Aayaati Rabbihim lam yakhirroo ‘alaihaa summanw wa’umyaanaa
Sahih International:
And those who, when reminded of the verses of their Lord, do not fall upon them deaf and blind.
وَٱلَّذِينَ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَٰجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّـٰتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍۢ وَٱجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا
25:74play_arrow
Wallazeena yaqooloona Rabbanaa hab lanaa min azwaajinaa wa zurriyaatinaa qurrata a’yuninw waj ‘alnaa lilmuttaqeena Imaamaa
Sahih International:
And those who say, “Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes and make us an example for the righteous.”
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ يُجْزَوْنَ ٱلْغُرْفَةَ بِمَا صَبَرُوا۟ وَيُلَقَّوْنَ فِيهَا تَحِيَّةًۭ وَسَلَـٰمًا
25:75play_arrow
Ulaaa’ika yujzawnal ghurfata bimaa sabaroo wa yulaqqawna feehaa tahiyyatanw wa salaamaa
Sahih International:
Those will be awarded the Chamber for what they patiently endured, and they will be received therein with greetings and [words of] peace.
خَـٰلِدِينَ فِيهَا ۚ حَسُنَتْ مُسْتَقَرًّۭا وَمُقَامًۭا
25:76play_arrow
Khaalideena feehaa; hasunat mustaqarranw wa muqaamaa
Sahih International:
Abiding eternally therein. Good is the settlement and residence.
قُلْ مَا يَعْبَؤُا۟ بِكُمْ رَبِّى لَوْلَا دُعَآؤُكُمْ ۖ فَقَدْ كَذَّبْتُمْ فَسَوْفَ يَكُونُ لِزَامًۢا
25:77play_arrow
Qul maa ya’ba’u bikum Rabbee law laa du’aaa’ukum faqad kazzabtum fasawfa yakoonu lizaamaa (section 6)
Sahih International:
Say, “What would my Lord care for you if not for your supplication?” For you [disbelievers] have denied, so your denial is going to be adherent.
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Bismillah hir rahman nir raheem
Sahih International:
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
طسٓمٓ

Taa-Seeen-Meeem
Sahih International:
Ta, Seen, Meem.
تِلْكَ ءَايَـٰتُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ ٱلْمُبِينِ
26:2play_arrow
Tilka Aayaatul Kitaabil Mubeen
Sahih International:
These are the verses of the clear Book.
لَعَلَّكَ بَـٰخِعٌۭ نَّفْسَكَ أَلَّا يَكُونُوا۟ مُؤْمِنِينَ
26:3play_arrow
La’allaka baakhi’un nafsaka allaa yakoonoo mu’mineen
Sahih International:
Perhaps, [O Muhammad], you would kill yourself with grief that they will not be believers.
إِن نَّشَأْ نُنَزِّلْ عَلَيْهِم مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ ءَايَةًۭ فَظَلَّتْ أَعْنَـٰقُهُمْ لَهَا خَـٰضِعِينَ
26:4play_arrow
In nashaa nunazzil ‘alaihim minas samaaa’i Aayatan fazallat a’naaquhum lahaa khaadi’een
Sahih International:
If We willed, We could send down to them from the sky a sign for which their necks would remain humbled.
وَمَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن ذِكْرٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ مُحْدَثٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ عَنْهُ مُعْرِضِينَ
26:5play_arrow
Wa maa yaateehim min zikrim minar Rahmaani muhdasin illaa kaanoo ‘anhu mu’rideen
Sahih International:
And no revelation comes to them anew from the Most Merciful except that they turn away from it.
فَقَدْ كَذَّبُوا۟ فَسَيَأْتِيهِمْ أَنۢبَـٰٓؤُا۟ مَا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ
26:6play_arrow
Faqad kazzaboo fasa yaateehim ambaaa’u maa kaanoo bihee yastahzi’oon
Sahih International:
For they have already denied, but there will come to them the news of that which they used to ridicule.
أَوَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ إِلَى ٱلْأَرْضِ كَمْ أَنۢبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍۢ كَرِيمٍ
26:7play_arrow
Awa lam yaraw ilal ardi kam ambatnaa feehaa min kulli zawjin kareem
Sahih International:
Did they not look at the earth – how much We have produced therein from every noble kind?
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةًۭ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
26:8play_arrow
Inna fee zaalika la Aayah; wa maa kaana aksaruhum mu’mineen
Sahih International:
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
26:9play_arrow
Wa inna Rabbaka la Huwal ‘Azeezur Raheem (section 1)
Sahih International:
And indeed, your Lord – He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
وَإِذْ نَادَىٰ رَبُّكَ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنِ ٱئْتِ ٱلْقَوْمَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
26:10play_arrow
Wa iz naadaa Rabbuka Moosaaa ani’-til qawmaz zaalimeen
Sahih International:
And [mention] when your Lord called Moses, [saying], “Go to the wrongdoing people –
قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ ۚ أَلَا يَتَّقُونَ
26:11play_arrow
Qawma Fir’awn; alaa yattaqoon
Sahih International:
The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Allah?”
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ أَن يُكَذِّبُونِ
26:12play_arrow
Qaala Rabbi inneee akhaafu ai yukazziboon
Sahih International:
He said, “My Lord, indeed I fear that they will deny me
وَيَضِيقُ صَدْرِى وَلَا يَنطَلِقُ لِسَانِى فَأَرْسِلْ إِلَىٰ هَـٰرُونَ
26:13play_arrow
Wa yadeequ sadree wa laa yantaliqu lisaanee fa arsil ilaa Haaroon
Sahih International:
And that my breast will tighten and my tongue will not be fluent, so send for Aaron.
وَلَهُمْ عَلَىَّ ذَنۢبٌۭ فَأَخَافُ أَن يَقْتُلُونِ
26:14play_arrow
Wa lahum ‘alaiya zambun fa akhaafu ai yaqtuloon
Sahih International:
And they have upon me a [claim due to] sin, so I fear that they will kill me.”
قَالَ كَلَّا ۖ فَٱذْهَبَا بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَآ ۖ إِنَّا مَعَكُم مُّسْتَمِعُونَ
26:15play_arrow
Qaala kallaa fazhabaa bi Aayaatinaaa innaa ma’akum mustami’oon
Sahih International:
[Allah] said, “No. Go both of you with Our signs; indeed, We are with you, listening.
فَأْتِيَا فِرْعَوْنَ فَقُولَآ إِنَّا رَسُولُ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
26:16play_arrow
Faatiyaa Fir’awna faqoolaaa innaa Rasoolu Rabbil ‘aalameen
Sahih International:
Go to Pharaoh and say, ‘We are the messengers of the Lord of the worlds,
أَنْ أَرْسِلْ مَعَنَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
26:17play_arrow
An arsil ma’anaa Baneee Israaa’eel
Sahih International:
[Commanded to say], “Send with us the Children of Israel.”‘”
قَالَ أَلَمْ نُرَبِّكَ فِينَا وَلِيدًۭا وَلَبِثْتَ فِينَا مِنْ عُمُرِكَ سِنِينَ
26:18play_arrow
Qaala alam nurabbika feenaa waleedanw wa labista feenaa min ‘umurika sineen
Sahih International:
[Pharaoh] said, “Did we not raise you among us as a child, and you remained among us for years of your life?
وَفَعَلْتَ فَعْلَتَكَ ٱلَّتِى فَعَلْتَ وَأَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ
26:19play_arrow
Wa fa’alta fa’latakal latee fa’alta wa anta minal kaafireen
Sahih International:
And [then] you did your deed which you did, and you were of the ungrateful.”
قَالَ فَعَلْتُهَآ إِذًۭا وَأَنَا۠ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
26:20play_arrow
Qaala fa’altuhaaa izanw wa ana minad daaaleen
Sahih International:
[Moses] said, “I did it, then, while I was of those astray.
فَفَرَرْتُ مِنكُمْ لَمَّا خِفْتُكُمْ فَوَهَبَ لِى رَبِّى حُكْمًۭا وَجَعَلَنِى مِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
26:21play_arrow
Fafarartu minkum lam maa khiftukum fawahaba lee Rabbee hukmanw wa ja’alanee minal mursaleen
Sahih International:
So I fled from you when I feared you. Then my Lord granted me wisdom and prophethood and appointed me [as one] of the messengers.
وَتِلْكَ نِعْمَةٌۭ تَمُنُّهَا عَلَىَّ أَنْ عَبَّدتَّ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
26:22play_arrow
Wa tilka ni’matun tamun nuhaa ‘alaiya an ‘abbatta Baneee Israaa’eel
Sahih International:
And is this a favor of which you remind me – that you have enslaved the Children of Israel?”
قَالَ فِرْعَوْنُ وَمَا رَبُّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
26:23play_arrow
Qaala Fir’awnu wa maa Rabbul ‘aalameen
Sahih International:
Said Pharaoh, “And what is the Lord of the worlds?”
قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ ۖ إِن كُنتُم مُّوقِنِينَ
26:24play_arrow
Qaala Rabbus samaawaati wal ardi wa maa bainahumaa in kuntum mooqineen
Sahih International:
[Moses] said, “The Lord of the heavens and earth and that between them, if you should be convinced.”
قَالَ لِمَنْ حَوْلَهُۥٓ أَلَا تَسْتَمِعُونَ
26:25play_arrow
Qaala liman hawlahooo alaa tastami’oon
Sahih International:
[Pharaoh] said to those around him, “Do you not hear?”
قَالَ رَبُّكُمْ وَرَبُّ ءَابَآئِكُمُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
26:26play_arrow
Qaala Rabbukum wa Rabbu aabaaa’ikumul awwaleen
Sahih International:
[Moses] said, “Your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers.”
قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَكُمُ ٱلَّذِىٓ أُرْسِلَ إِلَيْكُمْ لَمَجْنُونٌۭ
26:27play_arrow
Qaala inna Rasoolakumul lazee ursila ilaikum lamajnoon
Sahih International:
[Pharaoh] said, “Indeed, your ‘messenger’ who has been sent to you is mad.”
قَالَ رَبُّ ٱلْمَشْرِقِ وَٱلْمَغْرِبِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَآ ۖ إِن كُنتُمْ تَعْقِلُونَ
26:28play_arrow
Qaala Rabbul mashriqi wal maghribi wa maa baina humaa in kuntum ta’qiloon
Sahih International:
[Moses] said, “Lord of the east and the west and that between them, if you were to reason.”
قَالَ لَئِنِ ٱتَّخَذْتَ إِلَـٰهًا غَيْرِى لَأَجْعَلَنَّكَ مِنَ ٱلْمَسْجُونِينَ
26:29play_arrow
Qaala la’init takhazta ilaahan ghairee la aj’alannaka minal masjooneen
Sahih International:
[Pharaoh] said, “If you take a god other than me, I will surely place you among those imprisoned.”
قَالَ أَوَلَوْ جِئْتُكَ بِشَىْءٍۢ مُّبِينٍۢ
26:30play_arrow
Qaala awalaw ji’tuka bishai’im mubeen
Sahih International:
[Moses] said, “Even if I brought you proof manifest?”
قَالَ فَأْتِ بِهِۦٓ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ
26:31play_arrow
Qaala faati biheee in kunta minas saadiqeen
Sahih International:
[Pharaoh] said, “Then bring it, if you should be of the truthful.”
فَأَلْقَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ ثُعْبَانٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭ

Fa alqaa ‘asaahu fa izaaa hiya su’baanum mubeen
Sahih International:
So [Moses] threw his staff, and suddenly it was a serpent manifest.
وَنَزَعَ يَدَهُۥ فَإِذَا هِىَ بَيْضَآءُ لِلنَّـٰظِرِينَ

Wa naza’a yadahoo faizaa hiya baidaaa’u linnaa zireen (section 2)
Sahih International:
And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white for the observers.
قَالَ لِلْمَلَإِ حَوْلَهُۥٓ إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَسَـٰحِرٌ عَلِيمٌۭ

Qaala lilmala-i hawlahooo inna haazaa lasaahirun ‘aleem
Sahih International:
[Pharaoh] said to the eminent ones around him, “Indeed, this is a learned magician.
يُرِيدُ أَن يُخْرِجَكُم مِّنْ أَرْضِكُم بِسِحْرِهِۦ فَمَاذَا تَأْمُرُونَ
26:35play_arrow
Yureedu ai yukhrijakum min ardikum bisihrihee famaazaa taamuroon
Sahih International:
He wants to drive you out of your land by his magic, so what do you advise?”
قَالُوٓا۟ أَرْجِهْ وَأَخَاهُ وَٱبْعَثْ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَـٰشِرِينَ
26:36play_arrow
Qaalooo arjih wa akhaahu wab’as filmadaaa’ini haashireen
Sahih International:
They said, “Postpone [the matter of] him and his brother and send among the cities gatherers
يَأْتُوكَ بِكُلِّ سَحَّارٍ عَلِيمٍۢ
26:37play_arrow
Yaatooka bikulli sah haarin ‘aleem
Sahih International:
Who will bring you every learned, skilled magician.”
فَجُمِعَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ لِمِيقَـٰتِ يَوْمٍۢ مَّعْلُومٍۢ
26:38play_arrow
Fa jumi’as saharatu limeeqaati Yawmim ma’loom
Sahih International:
So the magicians were assembled for the appointment of a well-known day.
وَقِيلَ لِلنَّاسِ هَلْ أَنتُم مُّجْتَمِعُونَ
26:39play_arrow
Wa qeela linnaasi hal antum mujtami’oon
Sahih International:
And it was said to the people, “Will you congregate
لَعَلَّنَا نَتَّبِعُ ٱلسَّحَرَةَ إِن كَانُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبِينَ

La’allanaa nattabi’us saharata in kaanoo humul ghaalibeen
Sahih International:
That we might follow the magicians if they are the predominant?”
فَلَمَّا جَآءَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ قَالُوا۟ لِفِرْعَوْنَ أَئِنَّ لَنَا لَأَجْرًا إِن كُنَّا نَحْنُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبِينَ

Falammaa jaaa’as saharatu qaaloo li Fir’awna a’inna lanaa la ajjran in kunnaa nahnul ghaalibeen
Sahih International:
And when the magicians arrived, they said to Pharaoh, “Is there indeed for us a reward if we are the predominant?”
قَالَ نَعَمْ وَإِنَّكُمْ إِذًۭا لَّمِنَ ٱلْمُقَرَّبِينَ
26:42play_arrow
Qaala na’am wa innakum izal laminal muqarrabeen
Sahih International:
He said, “Yes, and indeed, you will then be of those near [to me].”
قَالَ لَهُم مُّوسَىٰٓ أَلْقُوا۟ مَآ أَنتُم مُّلْقُونَ
26:43play_arrow
Qaala lahum Moosaaa alqoo maaa antum mulqoon
Sahih International:
Moses said to them, “Throw whatever you will throw.”
فَأَلْقَوْا۟ حِبَالَهُمْ وَعِصِيَّهُمْ وَقَالُوا۟ بِعِزَّةِ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّا لَنَحْنُ ٱلْغَـٰلِبُونَ
26:44play_arrow
Fa alqaw hibaalahum wa ‘isiyyahum wa qaaloo bi’izzati Fir’awna innaa lanahnul ghaaliboon
Sahih International:
So they threw their ropes and their staffs and said, “By the might of Pharaoh, indeed it is we who are predominant.”
فَأَلْقَىٰ مُوسَىٰ عَصَاهُ فَإِذَا هِىَ تَلْقَفُ مَا يَأْفِكُونَ
26:45play_arrow
Fa alqaa Moosaa ‘asaahu fa izaa hiya talqafu maa yaafikoon
Sahih International:
Then Moses threw his staff, and at once it devoured what they falsified.
فَأُلْقِىَ ٱلسَّحَرَةُ سَـٰجِدِينَ
26:46play_arrow
Fa ulqiyas saharatu saajideen
Sahih International:
So the magicians fell down in prostration [to Allah].
قَالُوٓا۟ ءَامَنَّا بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
26:47play_arrow
Qaalooo aamannaa bi Rabbil ‘aalameen
Sahih International:
They said, “We have believed in the Lord of the worlds,
رَبِّ مُوسَىٰ وَهَـٰرُونَ
26:48play_arrow
Rabbi Moosaa wa Haaroon
Sahih International:
The Lord of Moses and Aaron.”
قَالَ ءَامَنتُمْ لَهُۥ قَبْلَ أَنْ ءَاذَنَ لَكُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ لَكَبِيرُكُمُ ٱلَّذِى عَلَّمَكُمُ ٱلسِّحْرَ فَلَسَوْفَ تَعْلَمُونَ ۚ لَأُقَطِّعَنَّ أَيْدِيَكُمْ وَأَرْجُلَكُم مِّنْ خِلَـٰفٍۢ وَلَأُصَلِّبَنَّكُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
26:49play_arrow
Qaala aamantum lahoo qabla an aazana lakum innahoo lakabeerukumul lazee ‘alla makumus sihra falasawfa ta’lamoon; la uqatti’anna aidiyakum wa arjulakum min khilaafinw wa la usallibanna kum ajma’een
Sahih International:
[Pharaoh] said, “You believed Moses before I gave you permission. Indeed, he is your leader who has taught you magic, but you are going to know. I will surely cut off your hands and your feet on opposite sides, and I will surely crucify you all.”
قَالُوا۟ لَا ضَيْرَ ۖ إِنَّآ إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا مُنقَلِبُونَ
26:50play_arrow
Qaaloo la daira innaaa ilaa Rabbinaa munqalliboon
Sahih International:
They said, “No harm. Indeed, to our Lord we will return.
إِنَّا نَطْمَعُ أَن يَغْفِرَ لَنَا رَبُّنَا خَطَـٰيَـٰنَآ أَن كُنَّآ أَوَّلَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
26:51play_arrow
Innaa natma’u ai yaghfira lanaa Rabbunaa khataa yaanaaa an kunnaaa awwalal mu’mineen (section 3)
Sahih International:
Indeed, we aspire that our Lord will forgive us our sins because we were the first of the believers.”
وَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنْ أَسْرِ بِعِبَادِىٓ إِنَّكُم مُّتَّبَعُونَ
26:52play_arrow
Wa awhainaaa ilaa Moosaaa an asri bi’ibaadeee innakum muttaba’oon
Sahih International:
And We inspired to Moses, “Travel by night with My servants; indeed, you will be pursued.”
فَأَرْسَلَ فِرْعَوْنُ فِى ٱلْمَدَآئِنِ حَـٰشِرِينَ
26:53play_arrow
Fa arsala Fir’awnu filmadaaa’ini haashireen
Sahih International:
Then Pharaoh sent among the cities gatherers
إِنَّ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ لَشِرْذِمَةٌۭ قَلِيلُونَ
26:54play_arrow
Inna haaa’ulaaa’i lashir zimatun qaleeloon
Sahih International:
[And said], “Indeed, those are but a small band,
وَإِنَّهُمْ لَنَا لَغَآئِظُونَ
26:55play_arrow
Wa innahum lanaa laghaaa’izoon
Sahih International:
And indeed, they are enraging us,
وَإِنَّا لَجَمِيعٌ حَـٰذِرُونَ
26:56play_arrow
Wa innaa lajamee’un haaziroon
Sahih International:
And indeed, we are a cautious society… “
فَأَخْرَجْنَـٰهُم مِّن جَنَّـٰتٍۢ وَعُيُونٍۢ
26:57play_arrow
Fa akhrajnaahum min Jannaatinw wa ‘uyoon
Sahih International:
So We removed them from gardens and springs
وَكُنُوزٍۢ وَمَقَامٍۢ كَرِيمٍۢ
26:58play_arrow
Wa kunoozinw wa ma qaamin kareem
Sahih International:
And treasures and honorable station –
كَذَٰلِكَ وَأَوْرَثْنَـٰهَا بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
26:59play_arrow
Kazaalika wa awrasnaahaa Baneee Israaa’eel
Sahih International:
Thus. And We caused to inherit it the Children of Israel.
فَأَتْبَعُوهُم مُّشْرِقِينَ
26:60play_arrow
Fa atba’oohum mushriqeen
Sahih International:
So they pursued them at sunrise.
فَلَمَّا تَرَٰٓءَا ٱلْجَمْعَانِ قَالَ أَصْحَـٰبُ مُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّا لَمُدْرَكُونَ
26:61play_arrow
Falammaa taraaa’al jam’aani qaala as haabu Moosaaa innaa lamudrakoon
Sahih International:
And when the two companies saw one another, the companions of Moses said, “Indeed, we are to be overtaken!”
قَالَ كَلَّآ ۖ إِنَّ مَعِىَ رَبِّى سَيَهْدِينِ
26:62play_arrow
Qaala kallaaa inna ma’iya Rabbee sa yahdeen
Sahih International:
[Moses] said, “No! Indeed, with me is my Lord; He will guide me.”
فَأَوْحَيْنَآ إِلَىٰ مُوسَىٰٓ أَنِ ٱضْرِب بِّعَصَاكَ ٱلْبَحْرَ ۖ فَٱنفَلَقَ فَكَانَ كُلُّ فِرْقٍۢ كَٱلطَّوْدِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
26:63play_arrow
Fa awhainaaa ilaa Moosaaa anidrib bi’asaakal bahra fanfalaqa fakaana kullu firqin kattawdil ‘azeem
Sahih International:
Then We inspired to Moses, “Strike with your staff the sea,” and it parted, and each portion was like a great towering mountain.
وَأَزْلَفْنَا ثَمَّ ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ
26:64play_arrow
Wa azlafnaa sammal aakhareen
Sahih International:
And We advanced thereto the pursuers.
وَأَنجَيْنَا مُوسَىٰ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ
26:65play_arrow
Wa anjainaa Moosaa wa mam ma’ahooo ajma’een
Sahih International:
And We saved Moses and those with him, all together.
ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ
26:66play_arrow
Summa aghraqnal aakhareen
Sahih International:
Then We drowned the others.
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةًۭ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
26:67play_arrow
Inna fee zaalika la Aayaah; wa maa kaana aksaru hu mu’mineen
Sahih International:
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
26:68play_arrow
Wa inna Rabbaka la Huwal ‘Azeezur Raheem (section 4)
Sahih International:
And indeed, your Lord – He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
وَٱتْلُ عَلَيْهِمْ نَبَأَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ
26:69play_arrow
Watlu ‘alaihim naba-a Ibraaheem
Sahih International:
And recite to them the news of Abraham,
إِذْ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوْمِهِۦ مَا تَعْبُدُونَ
26:70play_arrow
Iz qaala li abeehi wa qawmihee maa ta’budoon
Sahih International:
When he said to his father and his people, “What do you worship?”
قَالُوا۟ نَعْبُدُ أَصْنَامًۭا فَنَظَلُّ لَهَا عَـٰكِفِينَ
26:71play_arrow
Qaaloo na’budu asnaaman fanazallu lahaa ‘aakifeen
Sahih International:
They said, “We worship idols and remain to them devoted.”
قَالَ هَلْ يَسْمَعُونَكُمْ إِذْ تَدْعُونَ
26:72play_arrow
Qaala hal yasma’oona kum iz tad’oon
Sahih International:
He said, “Do they hear you when you supplicate?
أَوْ يَنفَعُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَضُرُّونَ
26:73play_arrow
Aw yanfa’oonakum aw yadurroon
Sahih International:
Or do they benefit you, or do they harm?”
قَالُوا۟ بَلْ وَجَدْنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا كَذَٰلِكَ يَفْعَلُونَ
26:74play_arrow
Qaaloo bal wajadnaaa aabaaa ‘anaa kazaalika yaf’aloon
Sahih International:
They said, “But we found our fathers doing thus.”
قَالَ أَفَرَءَيْتُم مَّا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ
26:75play_arrow
Qaala afara ‘aitum maa kuntum ta’budoon
Sahih International:
He said, “Then do you see what you have been worshipping,
أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُمُ ٱلْأَقْدَمُونَ
26:76play_arrow
Antum wa aabaaa’ukumul aqdamoon
Sahih International:
You and your ancient forefathers?
فَإِنَّهُمْ عَدُوٌّۭ لِّىٓ إِلَّا رَبَّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
26:77play_arrow
Fa innahum ‘aduwwwul leee illaa Rabbal ‘aalameen
Sahih International:
Indeed, they are enemies to me, except the Lord of the worlds,
ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَنِى فَهُوَ يَهْدِينِ
26:78play_arrow
Allazee khalaqanee fa Huwa yahdeen
Sahih International:
Who created me, and He [it is who] guides me.
وَٱلَّذِى هُوَ يُطْعِمُنِى وَيَسْقِينِ
26:79play_arrow
Wallazee Huwa yut’imunee wa yasqeen
Sahih International:
And it is He who feeds me and gives me drink.
وَإِذَا مَرِضْتُ فَهُوَ يَشْفِينِ
26:80play_arrow
Wa izaa maridtu fahuwa yashfeen
Sahih International:
And when I am ill, it is He who cures me
وَٱلَّذِى يُمِيتُنِى ثُمَّ يُحْيِينِ
26:81play_arrow
Wallazee yumeetunee summa yuhyeen
Sahih International:
And who will cause me to die and then bring me to life
وَٱلَّذِىٓ أَطْمَعُ أَن يَغْفِرَ لِى خَطِيٓـَٔتِى يَوْمَ ٱلدِّينِ
26:82play_arrow
Wallazeee atma’u ai yaghfira lee khateee’ atee Yawmad Deen
Sahih International:
And who I aspire that He will forgive me my sin on the Day of Recompense.”
رَبِّ هَبْ لِى حُكْمًۭا وَأَلْحِقْنِى بِٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
26:83play_arrow
Rabbi hab lee hukmanw wa alhiqnee bis saaliheen
Sahih International:
[And he said], “My Lord, grant me authority and join me with the righteous.
وَٱجْعَل لِّى لِسَانَ صِدْقٍۢ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرِينَ
26:84play_arrow
Waj’al lee lisaana sidqin fil aakhireen
Sahih International:
And grant me a reputation of honor among later generations.
وَٱجْعَلْنِى مِن وَرَثَةِ جَنَّةِ ٱلنَّعِيمِ
26:85play_arrow
Waj’alnee minw warasati Jannnatin Na’eem
Sahih International:
And place me among the inheritors of the Garden of Pleasure.
وَٱغْفِرْ لِأَبِىٓ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
26:86play_arrow
Waghfir li abeee innahoo kaana mind daalleen
Sahih International:
And forgive my father. Indeed, he has been of those astray.
وَلَا تُخْزِنِى يَوْمَ يُبْعَثُونَ
26:87play_arrow
Wa laa tukhzinee Yawma yub’asoon
Sahih International:
And do not disgrace me on the Day they are [all] resurrected –
يَوْمَ لَا يَنفَعُ مَالٌۭ وَلَا بَنُونَ
26:88play_arrow
Yawma laa yanfa’u maalunw wa laa banoon
Sahih International:
The Day when there will not benefit [anyone] wealth or children
إِلَّا مَنْ أَتَى ٱللَّهَ بِقَلْبٍۢ سَلِيمٍۢ
26:89play_arrow
Illaa man atal laaha biqalbin saleem
Sahih International:
But only one who comes to Allah with a sound heart.”
وَأُزْلِفَتِ ٱلْجَنَّةُ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ
26:90play_arrow
Wa uzlifatil Jannatu lilmuttaqeen
Sahih International:
And Paradise will be brought near [that Day] to the righteous.
وَبُرِّزَتِ ٱلْجَحِيمُ لِلْغَاوِينَ
26:91play_arrow
Wa burrizatil Jaheemu lilghaaween
Sahih International:
And Hellfire will be brought forth for the deviators,
وَقِيلَ لَهُمْ أَيْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْبُدُونَ
26:92play_arrow
Wa qeela lahum aina maa kuntum ta’budoon
Sahih International:
And it will be said to them, “Where are those you used to worship
مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ هَلْ يَنصُرُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَنتَصِرُونَ
26:93play_arrow
Min doonil laahi hal yansuroonakum aw yantasiroon
Sahih International:
Other than Allah? Can they help you or help themselves?”
فَكُبْكِبُوا۟ فِيهَا هُمْ وَٱلْغَاوُۥنَ
26:94play_arrow
Fakubkiboo feehaa hum walghaawoon
Sahih International:
So they will be overturned into Hellfire, they and the deviators
وَجُنُودُ إِبْلِيسَ أَجْمَعُونَ
26:95play_arrow
Wa junoodu Ibleesa ajma’oon
Sahih International:
And the soldiers of Iblees, all together.
قَالُوا۟ وَهُمْ فِيهَا يَخْتَصِمُونَ
26:96play_arrow
Qaaloo wa hum feehaa yakkhtasimoon
Sahih International:
They will say while they dispute therein,
تَٱللَّهِ إِن كُنَّا لَفِى ضَلَـٰلٍۢ مُّبِينٍ
26:97play_arrow
Tallaahi in kunnaa lafee dalaalim mubeen
Sahih International:
“By Allah, we were indeed in manifest error
إِذْ نُسَوِّيكُم بِرَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
26:98play_arrow
Iz nusawweekum bi Rabbil ‘aalameen
Sahih International:
When we equated you with the Lord of the worlds.
وَمَآ أَضَلَّنَآ إِلَّا ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ
26:99play_arrow
Wa maaa adallanaaa illal mujrimoon
Sahih International:
And no one misguided us except the criminals.
فَمَا لَنَا مِن شَـٰفِعِينَ
26:100play_arrow
Famaa lanaa min shaa fi’een
Sahih International:
So now we have no intercessors
وَلَا صَدِيقٍ حَمِيمٍۢ
26:101play_arrow
Wa laa sadeeqin hameem
Sahih International:
And not a devoted friend.
فَلَوْ أَنَّ لَنَا كَرَّةًۭ فَنَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
26:102play_arrow
Falaw anna lanaa karratan fanakoona minal mu’mineen
Sahih International:
Then if we only had a return [to the world] and could be of the believers… “
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةًۭ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
26:103play_arrow
Inna fee zaalika la Aayatanw wa maa kaana aksaruhum mu’mineen
Sahih International:
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
26:104play_arrow
Wa inna Rabbaka la Huwal ‘Azeezur Raheem (section 5)
Sahih International:
And indeed, your Lord – He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
26:105play_arrow
Kazzabat qawmu Noohinil Mursaleen
Sahih International:
The people of Noah denied the messengers
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ نُوحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
26:106play_arrow
Iz qaala lahum akhoohum Noohun alaa tattaqoon
Sahih International:
When their brother Noah said to them, “Will you not fear Allah?
إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌۭ
26:107play_arrow
Innee lakum Rasoolun ameen
Sahih International:
Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger.
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
26:108play_arrow
Fattaqullaaha wa atee’oon
Sahih International:
So fear Allah and obey me.
وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
26:109play_arrow
Wa maaa as’alukum ‘alaihi min ajrin in ajriya illaa ‘alaa Rabbil ‘aalameen
Sahih International:
And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
26:110play_arrow
Fattaqul laaha wa atee’oon
Sahih International:
So fear Allah and obey me.”
قَالُوٓا۟ أَنُؤْمِنُ لَكَ وَٱتَّبَعَكَ ٱلْأَرْذَلُونَ
26:111play_arrow
Qaalooo anu’minu laka wattaba ‘akal arzaloon
Sahih International:
They said, “Should we believe you while you are followed by the lowest [class of people]?”
قَالَ وَمَا عِلْمِى بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَعْمَلُونَ
26:112play_arrow
Qaala wa maa ‘ilmee bimaa kaanoo ya’maloon
Sahih International:
He said, “And what is my knowledge of what they used to do?
إِنْ حِسَابُهُمْ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّى ۖ لَوْ تَشْعُرُونَ
26:113play_arrow
In hisaabuhum illaa ‘alaa Rabbee law tash’uroon
Sahih International:
Their account is only upon my Lord, if you [could] perceive.
وَمَآ أَنَا۠ بِطَارِدِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
26:114play_arrow
Wa maaa ana bitaaridil mu’mineen
Sahih International:
And I am not one to drive away the believers.
إِنْ أَنَا۠ إِلَّا نَذِيرٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭ
26:115play_arrow
In ana illaa nazeerum mubeen
Sahih International:
I am only a clear warner.”
قَالُوا۟ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَـٰنُوحُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمَرْجُومِينَ
26:116play_arrow
Qaaloo la’il lam tantahi yaa Noohu latakoonanna minal marjoomeen
Sahih International:
They said, “If you do not desist, O Noah, you will surely be of those who are stoned.”
قَالَ رَبِّ إِنَّ قَوْمِى كَذَّبُونِ

Qaala Rabbi inna qawmee kazzaboon
Sahih International:
He said, “My Lord, indeed my people have denied me.
فَٱفْتَحْ بَيْنِى وَبَيْنَهُمْ فَتْحًۭا وَنَجِّنِى وَمَن مَّعِىَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
26:118play_arrow
Faftab bainee wa bai nahum fat hanw wa najjinee wa mam ma’iya minal mu’mineen
Sahih International:
Then judge between me and them with decisive judgement and save me and those with me of the believers.”
فَأَنجَيْنَـٰهُ وَمَن مَّعَهُۥ فِى ٱلْفُلْكِ ٱلْمَشْحُونِ
26:119play_arrow
Fa anjainaahu wa mamma’ahoo fil fulkil mashhoon
Sahih International:
So We saved him and those with him in the laden ship.
ثُمَّ أَغْرَقْنَا بَعْدُ ٱلْبَاقِينَ
26:120play_arrow
Summa aghraqnaa ba’dul baaqeen
Sahih International:
Then We drowned thereafter the remaining ones.
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةًۭ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
26:121play_arrow
Inna fee zaalika la Aayaah; wa maa kaana aksaruhum mu’mineen
Sahih International:
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
26:122play_arrow
Wa inna Rabbaka la huwal ‘Azeezur Raheem (section 6)
Sahih International:
And indeed, your Lord – He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
26:123play_arrow
Kazzabat ‘Aadunil mursaleen
Sahih International:
‘Aad denied the messengers
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ هُودٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
26:124play_arrow
Iz qaala lahum akhoohum Hoodun alaa tattaqoon
Sahih International:
When their brother Hud said to them, “Will you not fear Allah?
إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌۭ
26:125play_arrow
Innee lakum Rasoolun ameen
Sahih International:
Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger.
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
26:126play_arrow
Fattaqullaaha wa atee’oon
Sahih International:
So fear Allah and obey me.
وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
26:127play_arrow
Wa maa as’alukum ‘alaihi min ajrin in ajriya illaa ‘alaa Rabbil ‘aalameen
Sahih International:
And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.
أَتَبْنُونَ بِكُلِّ رِيعٍ ءَايَةًۭ تَعْبَثُونَ
26:128play_arrow
Atabnoona bikulli ree’in aayatan ta’basoon
Sahih International:
Do you construct on every elevation a sign, amusing yourselves,
وَتَتَّخِذُونَ مَصَانِعَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَخْلُدُونَ
26:129play_arrow
Wa tattakhizoona masaani’a la’allakum takhludoon
Sahih International:
And take for yourselves palaces and fortresses that you might abide eternally?
وَإِذَا بَطَشْتُم بَطَشْتُمْ جَبَّارِينَ
26:130play_arrow
Wa izaa batashtum batashtum jabbaareen
Sahih International:
And when you strike, you strike as tyrants.
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
26:131play_arrow
Fattaqul laaha wa atee’oon
Sahih International:
So fear Allah and obey me.
وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَمَدَّكُم بِمَا تَعْلَمُونَ
26:132play_arrow
Wattaqul lazeee amad dakum bimaa ta’lamoon
Sahih International:
And fear He who provided you with that which you know,
أَمَدَّكُم بِأَنْعَـٰمٍۢ وَبَنِينَ
26:133play_arrow
Amaddakum bi an’aa minw wa baneen
Sahih International:
Provided you with grazing livestock and children
وَجَنَّـٰتٍۢ وَعُيُونٍ
26:134play_arrow
Wa jannaatinw wa ‘uyoon
Sahih International:
And gardens and springs.
إِنِّىٓ أَخَافُ عَلَيْكُمْ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍۢ
26:135play_arrow
Innee akhaafu ‘alaikum ‘azaaba Yawmin ‘azeem
Sahih International:
Indeed, I fear for you the punishment of a terrible day.”
قَالُوا۟ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْنَآ أَوَعَظْتَ أَمْ لَمْ تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلْوَٰعِظِينَ
26:136play_arrow
Qaaloo sawaaa’un ‘alainaaa awa ‘azta am lam takum minal waa’izeen
Sahih International:
They said, “It is all the same to us whether you advise or are not of the advisors.
إِنْ هَـٰذَآ إِلَّا خُلُقُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
26:137play_arrow
In haazaaa illaa khuluqul awwaleen
Sahih International:
This is not but the custom of the former peoples,
وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ
26:138play_arrow
Wa maa nahnu bimu ‘azzabeen
Sahih International:
And we are not to be punished.”
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَهْلَكْنَـٰهُمْ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةًۭ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
26:139play_arrow
Fakazzaboohu fa ahlaknaahum; inna fee zaalika la aayah; wa maa kaana aksaruhum mu’mineen
Sahih International:
And they denied him, so We destroyed them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
26:140play_arrow
Wa inna Rabbaka la huwal ‘Azeezur Raheem (section 7)
Sahih International:
And indeed, your Lord – He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
26:141play_arrow
Kazzabat Samoodul mursaleen
Sahih International:
Thamud denied the messengers
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ صَـٰلِحٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
26:142play_arrow
Iz qaala lahum akhoohum Saalihun alaa tattaqoon
Sahih International:
When their brother Salih said to them, “Will you not fear Allah?
إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌۭ
26:143play_arrow
Innee lakum Rasoolun ameen
Sahih International:
Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger.
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
26:144play_arrow
Fattaqul laaha wa atee’oon
Sahih International:
So fear Allah and obey me.
وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
26:145play_arrow
Wa maaa as’alukum ‘alaihi min ajrin in ajriya illaa ‘alaa Rabbil ‘aalameen
Sahih International:
And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.
أَتُتْرَكُونَ فِى مَا هَـٰهُنَآ ءَامِنِينَ
26:146play_arrow
Atutrakoona fee maa haahunnaaa aamineen
Sahih International:
Will you be left in what is here, secure [from death],
فِى جَنَّـٰتٍۢ وَعُيُونٍۢ
26:147play_arrow
Fee jannaatinw wa ‘uyoon
Sahih International:
Within gardens and springs
وَزُرُوعٍۢ وَنَخْلٍۢ طَلْعُهَا هَضِيمٌۭ
26:148play_arrow
Wa zuroo inw wa nakhlin tal ‘uhaa hadeem
Sahih International:
And fields of crops and palm trees with softened fruit?
وَتَنْحِتُونَ مِنَ ٱلْجِبَالِ بُيُوتًۭا فَـٰرِهِينَ
26:149play_arrow
Wa tanhitoona minal jibaali buyootan faariheen
Sahih International:
And you carve out of the mountains, homes, with skill.
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
26:150play_arrow
Fattaqul laaha wa atee’oon
Sahih International:
So fear Allah and obey me.
وَلَا تُطِيعُوٓا۟ أَمْرَ ٱلْمُسْرِفِينَ
26:151play_arrow
Wa laa tutee’ooo amral musrifeen
Sahih International:
And do not obey the order of the transgressors,
ٱلَّذِينَ يُفْسِدُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا يُصْلِحُونَ
26:152play_arrow
Allazeena yufsidoona fil ardi wa laa yuslihoon
Sahih International:
Who cause corruption in the land and do not amend.”
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَحَّرِينَ
26:153play_arrow
Qaalooo innamaa anta minal musahhareen
Sahih International:
They said, “You are only of those affected by magic.
مَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌۭ مِّثْلُنَا فَأْتِ بِـَٔايَةٍ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ
26:154play_arrow
Maaa anta illaa basharum mislunaa faati bi Aayatin in kunta minas saadiqeen
Sahih International:
You are but a man like ourselves, so bring a sign, if you should be of the truthful.”
قَالَ هَـٰذِهِۦ نَاقَةٌۭ لَّهَا شِرْبٌۭ وَلَكُمْ شِرْبُ يَوْمٍۢ مَّعْلُومٍۢ
26:155play_arrow
Qaala haazihee naaqatul lahaa shirbunw walakum shirbu yawmim ma’loom
Sahih International:
He said, “This is a she-camel. For her is a [time of] drink, and for you is a [time of] drink, [each] on a known day.
وَلَا تَمَسُّوهَا بِسُوٓءٍۢ فَيَأْخُذَكُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍۢ
26:156play_arrow
Wa laa tamassoohaa bisooo’in fa yaakhuzakum ‘azaabu Yawmin ‘Azeem
Sahih International:
And do not touch her with harm, lest you be seized by the punishment of a terrible day.”
فَعَقَرُوهَا فَأَصْبَحُوا۟ نَـٰدِمِينَ
26:157play_arrow
Fa’aqaroohaa fa asbahoo naadimeen
Sahih International:
But they hamstrung her and so became regretful.
فَأَخَذَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةًۭ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
26:158play_arrow
Fa akhazahumul ‘azaab; inna fee zaalika la Aayah; wa maa kaana aksaruhum mu’mineen
Sahih International:
And the punishment seized them. Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
26:159play_arrow
Wa inna Rabbaka la Huwal ‘Azeezur Raheem (section 8)
Sahih International:
And indeed, your Lord – He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
26:160play_arrow
kazzabat qawmu Lootinil mursaleen
Sahih International:
The people of Lot denied the messengers
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ أَخُوهُمْ لُوطٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
26:161play_arrow
Iz qaala lahum akhoohum Lootun alaa tattaqoon
Sahih International:
When their brother Lot said to them, “Will you not fear Allah?
إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌۭ
26:162play_arrow
Innee lakum rasoolun ameen
Sahih International:
Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger.
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
26:163play_arrow
Fattaqul laaha wa atee’oon
Sahih International:
So fear Allah and obey me.
وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
26:164play_arrow
Wa maaa as’alukum ‘alaihi min ajrin in ajriya illaa ‘alaa Rabbil ‘aalameen
Sahih International:
And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.
أَتَأْتُونَ ٱلذُّكْرَانَ مِنَ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
26:165play_arrow
Ataatoonaz zukraana minal ‘aalameen
Sahih International:
Do you approach males among the worlds
وَتَذَرُونَ مَا خَلَقَ لَكُمْ رَبُّكُم مِّنْ أَزْوَٰجِكُم ۚ بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ عَادُونَ
26:166play_arrow
Wa tazaroona maa khalaqa lakum Rabbukum min azwaajikum; bal antum qawmun ‘aadoon
Sahih International:
And leave what your Lord has created for you as mates? But you are a people transgressing.”
قَالُوا۟ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهِ يَـٰلُوطُ لَتَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْمُخْرَجِينَ
26:167play_arrow
Qaloo la’il lam tantahi yaa Lootu latakoonanna minal mukhrajeen
Sahih International:
They said, “If you do not desist, O Lot, you will surely be of those evicted.”
قَالَ إِنِّى لِعَمَلِكُم مِّنَ ٱلْقَالِينَ
26:168play_arrow
Qaala innee li’amalikum minal qaaleen
Sahih International:
He said, “Indeed, I am, toward your deed, of those who detest [it].
رَبِّ نَجِّنِى وَأَهْلِى مِمَّا يَعْمَلُونَ
26:169play_arrow
Rabbi najjjinee wa ahlee mimmmaa ya’maloon
Sahih International:
My Lord, save me and my family from [the consequence of] what they do.”
فَنَجَّيْنَـٰهُ وَأَهْلَهُۥٓ أَجْمَعِينَ
26:170play_arrow
Fanajjainaahu wa ahlahooo ajma’een
Sahih International:
So We saved him and his family, all,
إِلَّا عَجُوزًۭا فِى ٱلْغَـٰبِرِينَ
26:171play_arrow
Illaa ‘ajoozan filghaabireen
Sahih International:
Except an old woman among those who remained behind.
ثُمَّ دَمَّرْنَا ٱلْـَٔاخَرِينَ
26:172play_arrow
Summa dammarnal aa khareen
Sahih International:
Then We destroyed the others.
وَأَمْطَرْنَا عَلَيْهِم مَّطَرًۭا ۖ فَسَآءَ مَطَرُ ٱلْمُنذَرِينَ
26:173play_arrow
Wa amtarnaa ‘alaihim mataran fasaaa’a matarul munzareen
Sahih International:
And We rained upon them a rain [of stones], and evil was the rain of those who were warned.
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةًۭ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
26:174play_arrow
Inna fee zaalika la Aayah; wa maa kaana aksaruhum mu’mineen
Sahih International:
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
26:175play_arrow
Wa inna Rabbaka la Huwal ‘Azeezur Raheem (section 9)
Sahih International:
And indeed, your Lord – He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
كَذَّبَ أَصْحَـٰبُ لْـَٔيْكَةِ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ
26:176play_arrow
Kazzaba As haabul Aykatil mursaleen
Sahih International:
The companions of the thicket denied the messengers
إِذْ قَالَ لَهُمْ شُعَيْبٌ أَلَا تَتَّقُونَ
26:177play_arrow
Iz qaala lahum Shu’aybun alaa tattaqoon
Sahih International:
When Shu’ayb said to them, “Will you not fear Allah?
إِنِّى لَكُمْ رَسُولٌ أَمِينٌۭ
26:178play_arrow
Innee lakum Rasoolun ameen
Sahih International:
Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger.
فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ
26:179play_arrow
Fattaqul laaha wa atee’oon
Sahih International:
So fear Allah and obey me.
وَمَآ أَسْـَٔلُكُمْ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَجْرٍ ۖ إِنْ أَجْرِىَ إِلَّا عَلَىٰ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
26:180play_arrow
Wa maaa as’alukum ‘alaihi min ajrin in ajriya illaa ‘alaa Rabbil ‘aalameen
Sahih International:
And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds.
أَوْفُوا۟ ٱلْكَيْلَ وَلَا تَكُونُوا۟ مِنَ ٱلْمُخْسِرِينَ
26:181play_arrow
Awful kaila wa laa takoonoo minal mukhsireen
Sahih International:
Give full measure and do not be of those who cause loss.
وَزِنُوا۟ بِٱلْقِسْطَاسِ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمِ
26:182play_arrow
Wa zinoo bilqistaasil mustaqeem
Sahih International:
And weigh with an even balance.
وَلَا تَبْخَسُوا۟ ٱلنَّاسَ أَشْيَآءَهُمْ وَلَا تَعْثَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ مُفْسِدِينَ
26:183play_arrow
Wa laa tabkhasun naasa ashyaaa ‘ahum wa laa ta’saw fil ardi mufsideen
Sahih International:
And do not deprive people of their due and do not commit abuse on earth, spreading corruption.
وَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَكُمْ وَٱلْجِبِلَّةَ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
26:184play_arrow
Wattaqul lazee khalaqakum waljibillatal awwaleen
Sahih International:
And fear He who created you and the former creation.”
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّمَآ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱلْمُسَحَّرِينَ
26:185play_arrow
Qaalooo innamaa anta minal musahhareen
Sahih International:
They said, “You are only of those affected by magic.
وَمَآ أَنتَ إِلَّا بَشَرٌۭ مِّثْلُنَا وَإِن نَّظُنُّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلْكَـٰذِبِينَ
26:186play_arrow
Wa maaa anta illaa basharum mislunaa wa innazunnuka laminal kaazibeen
Sahih International:
You are but a man like ourselves, and indeed, we think you are among the liars.
فَأَسْقِطْ عَلَيْنَا كِسَفًۭا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ إِن كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ
26:187play_arrow
Fa asqit ‘alainaa kisafam minas samaaa’i in kunta minas saadiqeen
Sahih International:
So cause to fall upon us fragments of the sky, if you should be of the truthful.”
قَالَ رَبِّىٓ أَعْلَمُ بِمَا تَعْمَلُونَ
26:188play_arrow
Qaala Rabbeee a’lamu bimaa ta’maloon
Sahih International:
He said, “My Lord is most knowing of what you do.”
فَكَذَّبُوهُ فَأَخَذَهُمْ عَذَابُ يَوْمِ ٱلظُّلَّةِ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ عَذَابَ يَوْمٍ عَظِيمٍ
26:189play_arrow
Fakazzaboohu fa akhazahum ‘azaabu Yawmiz zullah; innahoo kaana ‘azaaba Yawmin ‘Azeem
Sahih International:
And they denied him, so the punishment of the day of the black cloud seized them. Indeed, it was the punishment of a terrible day.
إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةًۭ ۖ وَمَا كَانَ أَكْثَرُهُم مُّؤْمِنِينَ
26:190play_arrow
Inna fee zaalika la Aayah; wa maa kaana aksaruhum mu’mineen
Sahih International:
Indeed in that is a sign, but most of them were not to be believers.
وَإِنَّ رَبَّكَ لَهُوَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
26:191play_arrow
Wa inna Rabbaka la huwal ‘Azeezur Raheem (section 10)
Sahih International:
And indeed, your Lord – He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَتَنزِيلُ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
26:192play_arrow
Wa innahoo latanzeelu Rabbil ‘aalameen
Sahih International:
And indeed, the Qur’an is the revelation of the Lord of the worlds.
نَزَلَ بِهِ ٱلرُّوحُ ٱلْأَمِينُ
26:193play_arrow
Nazala bihir Roohul Ameen
Sahih International:
The Trustworthy Spirit has brought it down
عَلَىٰ قَلْبِكَ لِتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُنذِرِينَ
26:194play_arrow
‘Alaa qalbika litakoona minal munzireen
Sahih International:
Upon your heart, [O Muhammad] – that you may be of the warners –
بِلِسَانٍ عَرَبِىٍّۢ مُّبِينٍۢ
26:195play_arrow
Bilisaanin ‘Arabiyyim mubeen
Sahih International:
In a clear Arabic language.
وَإِنَّهُۥ لَفِى زُبُرِ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ
26:196play_arrow
Wa innahoo lafee Zuburil awwaleen
Sahih International:
And indeed, it is [mentioned] in the scriptures of former peoples.
أَوَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُمْ ءَايَةً أَن يَعْلَمَهُۥ عُلَمَـٰٓؤُا۟ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ
26:197play_arrow
Awalam yakul lahum Aayatan ai ya’lamahoo ‘ulamaaa’u Baneee Israaa’eel
Sahih International:
And has it not been a sign to them that it is recognized by the scholars of the Children of Israel?
وَلَوْ نَزَّلْنَـٰهُ عَلَىٰ بَعْضِ ٱلْأَعْجَمِينَ
26:198play_arrow
Wa law nazzalnaahu ‘alaa ba’dil a’jameen
Sahih International:
And even if We had revealed it to one among the foreigners
فَقَرَأَهُۥ عَلَيْهِم مَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ مُؤْمِنِينَ
26:199play_arrow
Faqara ahoo ‘alaihim maa kaanoo bihee mu’mineen
Sahih International:
And he had recited it to them [perfectly], they would [still] not have been believers in it.
كَذَٰلِكَ سَلَكْنَـٰهُ فِى قُلُوبِ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ
26:200play_arrow
Kazaalika salaknaahu fee quloobil mujrimeen
Sahih International:
Thus have We inserted disbelief into the hearts of the criminals.
لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِهِۦ حَتَّىٰ يَرَوُا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَلِيمَ
26:201play_arrow
Laa yu’minoona bihee hattaa yarawul ‘azaabal aleem
Sahih International:
They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment.
فَيَأْتِيَهُم بَغْتَةًۭ وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ
26:202play_arrow
Fayaatiyahum baghtatanw wa hum laa yash’uroon
Sahih International:
And it will come to them suddenly while they perceive [it] not.
فَيَقُولُوا۟ هَلْ نَحْنُ مُنظَرُونَ
26:203play_arrow
Fa yaqooloo hal nahnu munzaroon
Sahih International:
And they will say, “May we be reprieved?”
أَفَبِعَذَابِنَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونَ
26:204play_arrow
Afabi ‘azaabinaa yasta’jiloon
Sahih International:
So for Our punishment are they impatient?
أَفَرَءَيْتَ إِن مَّتَّعْنَـٰهُمْ سِنِينَ
26:205play_arrow
Afara’aita im matta’naahum sineen
Sahih International:
Then have you considered if We gave them enjoyment for years
ثُمَّ جَآءَهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يُوعَدُونَ
26:206play_arrow
Summa jaaa’ahum maa kaanoo yoo’adoon
Sahih International:
And then there came to them that which they were promised?
مَآ أَغْنَىٰ عَنْهُم مَّا كَانُوا۟ يُمَتَّعُونَ
26:207play_arrow
Maaa aghnaaa ‘anhum maa kaanoo yumatta’oon
Sahih International:
They would not be availed by the enjoyment with which they were provided.
وَمَآ أَهْلَكْنَا مِن قَرْيَةٍ إِلَّا لَهَا مُنذِرُونَ
26:208play_arrow
Wa maaa ahlaknaa min qaryatin illaa lahaa munziroon
Sahih International:
And We did not destroy any city except that it had warners
ذِكْرَىٰ وَمَا كُنَّا ظَـٰلِمِينَ
26:209play_arrow
Zikraa wa maa kunnaa zaalimeen
Sahih International:
As a reminder; and never have We been unjust.
وَمَا تَنَزَّلَتْ بِهِ ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينُ
26:210play_arrow
Wa maa tanazzalat bihish Shayaateen
Sahih International:
And the devils have not brought the revelation down.
وَمَا يَنۢبَغِى لَهُمْ وَمَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ
26:211play_arrow
Wa maa yambaghee lahum wa maa yastatee’oon
Sahih International:
It is not allowable for them, nor would they be able.
إِنَّهُمْ عَنِ ٱلسَّمْعِ لَمَعْزُولُونَ
26:212play_arrow
Innahum ‘anis sam’i lama’zooloon
Sahih International:
Indeed they, from [its] hearing, are removed.
فَلَا تَدْعُ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ فَتَكُونَ مِنَ ٱلْمُعَذَّبِينَ
26:213play_arrow
Falaa tad’u ma’al laahi ilaahan aakhara fatakoona minal mu’azzabeen
Sahih International:
So do not invoke with Allah another deity and [thus] be among the punished.
وَأَنذِرْ عَشِيرَتَكَ ٱلْأَقْرَبِينَ
26:214play_arrow
Wa anzir ‘asheeratakal aqrabeen
Sahih International:
And warn, [O Muhammad], your closest kindred.
وَٱخْفِضْ جَنَاحَكَ لِمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
26:215play_arrow
Wakhfid janaahaka limanit taba ‘aka minal mu’mineen
Sahih International:
And lower your wing to those who follow you of the believers.
فَإِنْ عَصَوْكَ فَقُلْ إِنِّى بَرِىٓءٌۭ مِّمَّا تَعْمَلُونَ
26:216play_arrow
Fa in asawka faqul innee bareee’um mimmmaa ta’maloon
Sahih International:
And if they disobey you, then say, “Indeed, I am disassociated from what you are doing.”
وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَى ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
26:217play_arrow
Wa tawakkal alal ‘Azeezir Raheem
Sahih International:
And rely upon the Exalted in Might, the Merciful,
ٱلَّذِى يَرَىٰكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ
26:218play_arrow
Allazee yaraaka heena taqoom
Sahih International:
Who sees you when you arise
وَتَقَلُّبَكَ فِى ٱلسَّـٰجِدِينَ
26:219play_arrow
Wa taqallubaka fis saajideen
Sahih International:
And your movement among those who prostrate.
إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
26:220play_arrow
Innahoo Huwas Samee’ul ‘Aleem
Sahih International:
Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing.
هَلْ أُنَبِّئُكُمْ عَلَىٰ مَن تَنَزَّلُ ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينُ
26:221play_arrow
Hal unabbi’ukum ‘alaa man tanazzalush Shayaateen
Sahih International:
Shall I inform you upon whom the devils descend?
تَنَزَّلُ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ أَفَّاكٍ أَثِيمٍۢ
26:222play_arrow
Tanazzalu ‘alaa kulli affaakin aseem
Sahih International:
They descend upon every sinful liar.
يُلْقُونَ ٱلسَّمْعَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمْ كَـٰذِبُونَ
26:223play_arrow
Yulqoonas sam’a wa aksaruhum kaaziboon
Sahih International:
They pass on what is heard, and most of them are liars.
وَٱلشُّعَرَآءُ يَتَّبِعُهُمُ ٱلْغَاوُۥنَ
26:224play_arrow
Washshu ‘araaa’u yattabi ‘uhumul ghaawoon
Sahih International:
And the poets – [only] the deviators follow them;
أَلَمْ تَرَ أَنَّهُمْ فِى كُلِّ وَادٍۢ يَهِيمُونَ
26:225play_arrow
Alam tara annahum fee kulli waadiny yaheemoon
Sahih International:
Do you not see that in every valley they roam
وَأَنَّهُمْ يَقُولُونَ مَا لَا يَفْعَلُونَ
26:226play_arrow
Wa annahum yaqooloona ma laa yaf’aloon
Sahih International:
And that they say what they do not do? –
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ وَذَكَرُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ كَثِيرًۭا وَٱنتَصَرُوا۟ مِنۢ بَعْدِ مَا ظُلِمُوا۟ ۗ وَسَيَعْلَمُ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓا۟ أَىَّ مُنقَلَبٍۢ يَنقَلِبُونَ
26:227play_arrow
Illal lazeena aamanoo wa ‘amilus saalihaati wa zakarul laaha kaseeranw wantasaroo min ba’di maa zulimoo; wa saya’lamul lazeena zalamooo aiya munqalabiny yanqaliboon (section 11)
Sahih International:
Except those [poets] who believe and do righteous deeds and remember Allah often and defend [the Muslims] after they were wronged. And those who have wronged are going to know to what [kind of] return they will be returned.
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ

Bismillah hir rahman nir raheem
Sahih International:
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
طسٓ ۚ تِلْكَ ءَايَـٰتُ ٱلْقُرْءَانِ وَكِتَابٍۢ مُّبِينٍ

Taa-Seeen; tilka Aayaatul Qur-aani wa Kitaabim Mubeen
Sahih International:
Ta, Seen. These are the verses of the Qur’an and a clear Book
هُدًۭى وَبُشْرَىٰ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
27:2play_arrow
Hudanw wa bushraa lil mu’mineen
Sahih International:
As guidance and good tidings for the believers
ٱلَّذِينَ يُقِيمُونَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَيُؤْتُونَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ وَهُم بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ هُمْ يُوقِنُونَ
27:3play_arrow
Allazeena yuqeemoonas Salaata wa yu’toonaz Zakaata wa hum bil Aakhirati hum yooqinoon
Sahih International:
Who establish prayer and give zakah, and of the Hereafter they are certain [in faith].
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ زَيَّنَّا لَهُمْ أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ فَهُمْ يَعْمَهُونَ
27:4play_arrow
Innal lazeena laa yu’minoona bil Aakhirati zaiyannaa lahum a’maalahum fahum ya’mahoon
Sahih International:
Indeed, for those who do not believe in the Hereafter, We have made pleasing to them their deeds, so they wander blindly.
أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَهُمْ سُوٓءُ ٱلْعَذَابِ وَهُمْ فِى ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ هُمُ ٱلْأَخْسَرُونَ
27:5play_arrow
Ulaaa’ikal lazeena lahum sooo’ul ‘azaabi wa hum fil Aakhirati humul akhsaroon
Sahih International:
Those are the ones for whom there will be the worst of punishment, and in the Hereafter they are the greatest losers.
وَإِنَّكَ لَتُلَقَّى ٱلْقُرْءَانَ مِن لَّدُنْ حَكِيمٍ عَلِيمٍ
27:6play_arrow
Wa innaka latulaqqal Qur-aana mil ladun Hakeemin ‘Aleem
Sahih International:
And indeed, [O Muhammad], you receive the Qur’an from one Wise and Knowing.
إِذْ قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِأَهْلِهِۦٓ إِنِّىٓ ءَانَسْتُ نَارًۭا سَـَٔاتِيكُم مِّنْهَا بِخَبَرٍ أَوْ ءَاتِيكُم بِشِهَابٍۢ قَبَسٍۢ لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَصْطَلُونَ
27:7play_arrow
Iz qaala Moosaa li ahliheee inneee aanastu naaran sa’aateekum minhaa bikhabarin aw aateekum bishihaabin qabasil la’allakum tastaloon
Sahih International:
[Mention] when Moses said to his family, “Indeed, I have perceived a fire. I will bring you from there information or will bring you a burning torch that you may warm yourselves.”
فَلَمَّا جَآءَهَا نُودِىَ أَنۢ بُورِكَ مَن فِى ٱلنَّارِ وَمَنْ حَوْلَهَا وَسُبْحَـٰنَ ٱللَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
27:8play_arrow
Falammaa jaaa’ahaa noodiya am boorika man finnnnaari wa man hawlahaa wa Subhaanal laahi Rabbil ‘aalameen
Sahih International:
But when he came to it, he was called, “Blessed is whoever is at the fire and whoever is around it. And exalted is Allah, Lord of the worlds.
يَـٰمُوسَىٰٓ إِنَّهُۥٓ أَنَا ٱللَّهُ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ
27:9play_arrow
Yaa Moosaaa innahooo Anal laahul ‘Azeezul Hakeem
Sahih International:
O Moses, indeed it is I – Allah, the Exalted in Might, the Wise.”
وَأَلْقِ عَصَاكَ ۚ فَلَمَّا رَءَاهَا تَهْتَزُّ كَأَنَّهَا جَآنٌّۭ وَلَّىٰ مُدْبِرًۭا وَلَمْ يُعَقِّبْ ۚ يَـٰمُوسَىٰ لَا تَخَفْ إِنِّى لَا يَخَافُ لَدَىَّ ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ
27:10play_arrow
Wa alqi ‘asaak; falammmaa ra aahaa tahtazzu ka annahaa jaaannunw wallaa mudbiranw wa lam yu’aqqib; yaa Moosaa laa takhaf innee laa yakhaafu ladaiyal mursaloon
Sahih International:
And [he was told], “Throw down your staff.” But when he saw it writhing as if it were a snake, he turned in flight and did not return. [Allah said], “O Moses, fear not. Indeed, in My presence the messengers do not fear.
إِلَّا مَن ظَلَمَ ثُمَّ بَدَّلَ حُسْنًۢا بَعْدَ سُوٓءٍۢ فَإِنِّى غَفُورٌۭ رَّحِيمٌۭ
27:11play_arrow
Illaa man zalama summa baddala husnam ba’da sooo’in fa innee Ghafoorur Raheem
Sahih International:
Otherwise, he who wrongs, then substitutes good after evil – indeed, I am Forgiving and Merciful.
وَأَدْخِلْ يَدَكَ فِى جَيْبِكَ تَخْرُجْ بَيْضَآءَ مِنْ غَيْرِ سُوٓءٍۢ ۖ فِى تِسْعِ ءَايَـٰتٍ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ وَقَوْمِهِۦٓ ۚ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَوْمًۭا فَـٰسِقِينَ
27:12play_arrow
Wa adkhil yadaka fee jaibika takhruj baidaaa’a min ghairisooo’in feetis’i Aayaatin ilaa Fir’awna wa qawmih; innahum kaanoo qawman faasiqeen
Sahih International:
And put your hand into the opening of your garment [at the breast]; it will come out white without disease. [These are] among the nine signs [you will take] to Pharaoh and his people. Indeed, they have been a people defiantly disobedient.”
فَلَمَّا جَآءَتْهُمْ ءَايَـٰتُنَا مُبْصِرَةًۭ قَالُوا۟ هَـٰذَا سِحْرٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭ
27:13play_arrow
Falammaa jaaa’at hum Aayaatunaa mubsiratan qaaloo haazaa sihrum mubeen
Sahih International:
But when there came to them Our visible signs, they said, “This is obvious magic.”
وَجَحَدُوا۟ بِهَا وَٱسْتَيْقَنَتْهَآ أَنفُسُهُمْ ظُلْمًۭا وَعُلُوًّۭا ۚ فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ ٱلْمُفْسِدِينَ
27:14play_arrow
Wa jahadoo bihaa wastaiqanat haaa anfusuhum zulmanw-wa ‘uluwwaa; fanzur kaifa kaana ‘aaqibatul mufsideen (section 1)
Sahih International:
And they rejected them, while their [inner] selves were convinced thereof, out of injustice and haughtiness. So see how was the end of the corrupters.
وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا دَاوُۥدَ وَسُلَيْمَـٰنَ عِلْمًۭا ۖ وَقَالَا ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِى فَضَّلَنَا عَلَىٰ كَثِيرٍۢ مِّنْ عِبَادِهِ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
27:15play_arrow
Wa laqad aatainaa Daawooda wa sulaimaana ‘ilmaa; wa qaalal hamdu lil laahil lazee faddalanaa ‘alaa kaseerim min ‘ibaadihil mu’mineen
Sahih International:
And We had certainly given to David and Solomon knowledge, and they said, “Praise [is due] to Allah, who has favored us over many of His believing servants.”
وَوَرِثَ سُلَيْمَـٰنُ دَاوُۥدَ ۖ وَقَالَ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّاسُ عُلِّمْنَا مَنطِقَ ٱلطَّيْرِ وَأُوتِينَا مِن كُلِّ شَىْءٍ ۖ إِنَّ هَـٰذَا لَهُوَ ٱلْفَضْلُ ٱلْمُبِينُ
27:16play_arrow
Wa warisa Sulaimaanu Daawooda wa qaala yaaa aiyuhan naasu ‘ullimnaa mantiqat tairi wa ooteenaa min kulli shai’in inna haazaa lahuwal fadlul mubeen
Sahih International:
And Solomon inherited David. He said, “O people, we have been taught the language of birds, and we have been given from all things. Indeed, this is evident bounty.”
وَحُشِرَ لِسُلَيْمَـٰنَ جُنُودُهُۥ مِنَ ٱلْجِنِّ وَٱلْإِنسِ وَٱلطَّيْرِ فَهُمْ يُوزَعُونَ
27:17play_arrow
Wa hushira Sulaimaana junooduhoo minal jinni wal insi wattairi fahum yooza’oon
Sahih International:
And gathered for Solomon were his soldiers of the jinn and men and birds, and they were [marching] in rows.
حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَآ أَتَوْا۟ عَلَىٰ وَادِ ٱلنَّمْلِ قَالَتْ نَمْلَةٌۭ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلنَّمْلُ ٱدْخُلُوا۟ مَسَـٰكِنَكُمْ لَا يَحْطِمَنَّكُمْ سُلَيْمَـٰنُ وَجُنُودُهُۥ وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ
27:18play_arrow
hattaaa izaaa ataw ‘alaa waadin namli qaalat namlatuny yaaa aiyuhan namlud khuloo masaakinakum laa yahtimannakum Sulaimaanu wa junooduhoo wa hum laa yash’uroon
Sahih International:
Until, when they came upon the valley of the ants, an ant said, “O ants, enter your dwellings that you not be crushed by Solomon and his soldiers while they perceive not.”
فَتَبَسَّمَ ضَاحِكًۭا مِّن قَوْلِهَا وَقَالَ رَبِّ أَوْزِعْنِىٓ أَنْ أَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ ٱلَّتِىٓ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَىَّ وَعَلَىٰ وَٰلِدَىَّ وَأَنْ أَعْمَلَ صَـٰلِحًۭا تَرْضَىٰهُ وَأَدْخِلْنِى بِرَحْمَتِكَ فِى عِبَادِكَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
27:19play_arrow
Fatabassama daahikam min qawlihaa wa qaala Rabbi awzi’nee an ashkura ni’mata kal lateee an’amta ‘alaiya wa ‘alaa waalidaiya wa an a’mala saalihan tardaahu wa adkhilnee birahmatika fee ‘ibaadikas saaliheen
Sahih International:
So [Solomon] smiled, amused at her speech, and said, “My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to do righteousness of which You approve. And admit me by Your mercy into [the ranks of] Your righteous servants.”
وَتَفَقَّدَ ٱلطَّيْرَ فَقَالَ مَا لِىَ لَآ أَرَى ٱلْهُدْهُدَ أَمْ كَانَ مِنَ ٱلْغَآئِبِينَ
27:20play_arrow
Wa tafaqqadat taira faqaala maa liya laaa araa al hudhuda, am kaana minal ghaaa’ibeen
Sahih International:
And he took attendance of the birds and said, “Why do I not see the hoopoe – or is he among the absent?
لَأُعَذِّبَنَّهُۥ عَذَابًۭا شَدِيدًا أَوْ لَأَا۟ذْبَحَنَّهُۥٓ أَوْ لَيَأْتِيَنِّى بِسُلْطَـٰنٍۢ مُّبِينٍۢ
27:21play_arrow
La-u’azzibanahoo ‘azaaban shadeedan aw la azbahannahoo aw layaatiyannee bisultaanim mubeen
Sahih International:
I will surely punish him with a severe punishment or slaughter him unless he brings me clear authorization.”
فَمَكَثَ غَيْرَ بَعِيدٍۢ فَقَالَ أَحَطتُ بِمَا لَمْ تُحِطْ بِهِۦ وَجِئْتُكَ مِن سَبَإٍۭ بِنَبَإٍۢ يَقِينٍ
27:22play_arrow
Famakasa ghaira ba’eedin faqaala ahattu bimaa lam tuhit bihee wa ji’tuka min Sabaim binaba iny-yaqeen
Sahih International:
But the hoopoe stayed not long and said, “I have encompassed [in knowledge] that which you have not encompassed, and I have come to you from Sheba with certain news.
إِنِّى وَجَدتُّ ٱمْرَأَةًۭ تَمْلِكُهُمْ وَأُوتِيَتْ مِن كُلِّ شَىْءٍۢ وَلَهَا عَرْشٌ عَظِيمٌۭ
27:23play_arrow
Innee wajattum ra atan tamlikuhum wa ootiyat min kulli shai’inw wa lahaa ‘arshun ‘azeem
Sahih International:
Indeed, I found [there] a woman ruling them, and she has been given of all things, and she has a great throne.
وَجَدتُّهَا وَقَوْمَهَا يَسْجُدُونَ لِلشَّمْسِ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ وَزَيَّنَ لَهُمُ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ أَعْمَـٰلَهُمْ فَصَدَّهُمْ عَنِ ٱلسَّبِيلِ فَهُمْ لَا يَهْتَدُونَ
27:24play_arrow
Wajattuhaa wa qawmahaa yasjudoona lishshamsi min doonil laahi wa zaiyana lahumush Shaitaanu a’maalahum fasaddahum ‘anis sabeeli fahum laa yahtadoon
Sahih International:
I found her and her people prostrating to the sun instead of Allah, and Satan has made their deeds pleasing to them and averted them from [His] way, so they are not guided,
أَلَّا يَسْجُدُوا۟ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِى يُخْرِجُ ٱلْخَبْءَ فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَيَعْلَمُ مَا تُخْفُونَ وَمَا تُعْلِنُونَ
27:25play_arrow
Allaa yasjudoo lillaahil lazee yukhrijul khab’a fis samaawaati wal ardi wa ya’lamu maa tukhfoona wa maa tu’linoon
Sahih International:
[And] so they do not prostrate to Allah, who brings forth what is hidden within the heavens and the earth and knows what you conceal and what you declare –
ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَـٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ رَبُّ ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ
27:26play_arrow
Allaahu laaa ilaaha illaa Huwa Rabbul ‘Arshil Azeem (make sajda)
Sahih International:
Allah – there is no deity except Him, Lord of the Great Throne.”
قَالَ سَنَنظُرُ أَصَدَقْتَ أَمْ كُنتَ مِنَ ٱلْكَـٰذِبِينَ
27:27play_arrow
Qaala sananzuru asadaqta am kunta minal kaazibeen
Sahih International:
[Solomon] said, “We will see whether you were truthful or were of the liars.
ٱذْهَب بِّكِتَـٰبِى هَـٰذَا فَأَلْقِهْ إِلَيْهِمْ ثُمَّ تَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ فَٱنظُرْ مَاذَا يَرْجِعُونَ
27:28play_arrow
Izhab bikitaabee haaza fa alqih ilaihim summma tawalla ‘anhum fanzur maazaa yarji’oon
Sahih International:
Take this letter of mine and deliver it to them. Then leave them and see what [answer] they will return.”
قَالَتْ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْمَلَؤُا۟ إِنِّىٓ أُلْقِىَ إِلَىَّ كِتَـٰبٌۭ كَرِيمٌ
27:29play_arrow
Qaalat yaaa aiyuhal mala’u innee ulqiya ilaiya kitaabun kareem
Sahih International:
She said, “O eminent ones, indeed, to me has been delivered a noble letter.
إِنَّهُۥ مِن سُلَيْمَـٰنَ وَإِنَّهُۥ بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
27:30play_arrow
Innahoo min Sulaimaana wa innahoo bismil laahir Rahmaanir Raheem
Sahih International:
Indeed, it is from Solomon, and indeed, it reads: ‘In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful,
أَلَّا تَعْلُوا۟ عَلَىَّ وَأْتُونِى مُسْلِمِينَ
27:31play_arrow
Allaa ta’loo ‘alaiya waa toonee muslimeen (section 2)
Sahih International:
Be not haughty with me but come to me in submission [as Muslims].’ “
قَالَتْ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْمَلَؤُا۟ أَفْتُونِى فِىٓ أَمْرِى مَا كُنتُ قَاطِعَةً أَمْرًا حَتَّىٰ تَشْهَدُونِ

Qaalat yaaa aiyuhal mala’u aftoonee fee amree maa kuntu qaati’atan amran hattaa tashhhadoon
Sahih International:
She said, “O eminent ones, advise me in my affair. I would not decide a matter until you witness [for] me.”
قَالُوا۟ نَحْنُ أُو۟لُوا۟ قُوَّةٍۢ وَأُو۟لُوا۟ بَأْسٍۢ شَدِيدٍۢ وَٱلْأَمْرُ إِلَيْكِ فَٱنظُرِى مَاذَا تَأْمُرِينَ
27:33play_arrow
Qaaloo nahnu uloo quwwatinw wa uloo baasin shadeed; wal amru ilaiki fanzuree maazaa taamureen
Sahih International:
They said, “We are men of strength and of great military might, but the command is yours, so see what you will command.”
قَالَتْ إِنَّ ٱلْمُلُوكَ إِذَا دَخَلُوا۟ قَرْيَةً أَفْسَدُوهَا وَجَعَلُوٓا۟ أَعِزَّةَ أَهْلِهَآ أَذِلَّةًۭ ۖ وَكَذَٰلِكَ يَفْعَلُونَ

Qaalat innal mulooka izaa dakhaloo qaryatan afsadoohaa wa ja’alooo a’izzata ahlihaaa azillah; wa kazaalika yaf’aloon
Sahih International:
She said, “Indeed kings – when they enter a city, they ruin it and render the honored of its people humbled. And thus do they do.
وَإِنِّى مُرْسِلَةٌ إِلَيْهِم بِهَدِيَّةٍۢ فَنَاظِرَةٌۢ بِمَ يَرْجِعُ ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ
27:35play_arrow
Wa innee mursilatun ilaihim bihadiyyatin fanaaziratum bima yarji’ul mursaloon
Sahih International:
But indeed, I will send to them a gift and see with what [reply] the messengers will return.”
فَلَمَّا جَآءَ سُلَيْمَـٰنَ قَالَ أَتُمِدُّونَنِ بِمَالٍۢ فَمَآ ءَاتَىٰنِۦَ ٱللَّهُ خَيْرٌۭ مِّمَّآ ءَاتَىٰكُم بَلْ أَنتُم بِهَدِيَّتِكُمْ تَفْرَحُونَ
27:36play_arrow
Falammaa jaaa’a Sulaimaana qaala atumiddoonani bimaalin famaaa aataaniyal laahu khairum mimmmaaa aataakum bal antum bihadiy-yatikum tafrahoon
Sahih International:
So when they came to Solomon, he said, “Do you provide me with wealth? But what Allah has given me is better than what He has given you. Rather, it is you who rejoice in your gift.
ٱرْجِعْ إِلَيْهِمْ فَلَنَأْتِيَنَّهُم بِجُنُودٍۢ لَّا قِبَلَ لَهُم بِهَا وَلَنُخْرِجَنَّهُم مِّنْهَآ أَذِلَّةًۭ وَهُمْ صَـٰغِرُونَ
27:37play_arrow
Irji’ ilaihim falanaatiyan nahum bijunoodil laa qibala lahum bihaa wa lanukhri jannahum minhaaa azillatanw wa hum saaghiroon
Sahih International:
Return to them, for we will surely come to them with soldiers that they will be powerless to encounter, and we will surely expel them therefrom in humiliation, and they will be debased.”
قَالَ يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلْمَلَؤُا۟ أَيُّكُمْ يَأْتِينِى بِعَرْشِهَا قَبْلَ أَن يَأْتُونِى مُسْلِمِينَ

Qaala yaaa aiyuhal mala’u aiyukum yaateenee bi’arshihaa qabla ai yaatoonee muslimeen
Sahih International:
[Solomon] said, “O assembly [of jinn], which of you will bring me her throne before they come to me in submission?”
قَالَ عِفْرِيتٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلْجِنِّ أَنَا۠ ءَاتِيكَ بِهِۦ قَبْلَ أَن تَقُومَ مِن مَّقَامِكَ ۖ وَإِنِّى عَلَيْهِ لَقَوِىٌّ أَمِينٌۭ

Qaala ‘ifreetum minal jinni ana aateeka bihee qabla an taqooma mim maqaamika wa innee ‘alaihi laqawiyyun ameen
Sahih International:
A powerful one from among the jinn said, “I will bring it to you before you rise from your place, and indeed, I am for this [task] strong and trustworthy.”
قَالَ ٱلَّذِى عِندَهُۥ عِلْمٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ أَنَا۠ ءَاتِيكَ بِهِۦ قَبْلَ أَن يَرْتَدَّ إِلَيْكَ طَرْفُكَ ۚ فَلَمَّا رَءَاهُ مُسْتَقِرًّا عِندَهُۥ قَالَ هَـٰذَا مِن فَضْلِ رَبِّى لِيَبْلُوَنِىٓ ءَأَشْكُرُ أَمْ أَكْفُرُ ۖ وَمَن شَكَرَ فَإِنَّمَا يَشْكُرُ لِنَفْسِهِۦ ۖ وَمَن كَفَرَ فَإِنَّ رَبِّى غَنِىٌّۭ كَرِيمٌۭ
27:40play_arrow
Qaalal lazee indahoo ‘ilmum minal Kitaabi ana aateeka bihee qabla ai yartadda ilaika tarfuk; falammaa ra aahu mustaqirran ‘indahoo qaala haazaa min fadli Rabbee li yabluwaneee ‘a-ashkuru am akfuru wa man shakara fa innamaa yashkuru linafsihee wa man kafara fa inna Rabbee Ghaniyyun Kareem
Sahih International:
Said one who had knowledge from the Scripture, “I will bring it to you before your glance returns to you.” And when [Solomon] saw it placed before him, he said, “This is from the favor of my Lord to test me whether I will be grateful or ungrateful. And whoever is grateful – his gratitude is only for [the benefit of] himself. And whoever is ungrateful – then indeed, my Lord is Free of need and Generous.”
قَالَ نَكِّرُوا۟ لَهَا عَرْشَهَا نَنظُرْ أَتَهْتَدِىٓ أَمْ تَكُونُ مِنَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَهْتَدُونَ

Qaala nakkiroo lahaa ‘arshahaa nanzur atahtadeee am takoonu minal lazeena laa yahtadoon
Sahih International:
He said, “Disguise for her her throne; we will see whether she will be guided [to truth] or will be of those who is not guided.”
فَلَمَّا جَآءَتْ قِيلَ أَهَـٰكَذَا عَرْشُكِ ۖ قَالَتْ كَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ ۚ وَأُوتِينَا ٱلْعِلْمَ مِن قَبْلِهَا وَكُنَّا مُسْلِمِينَ
27:42play_arrow
Falammaa jaaa’at qeela ahaakaza ‘arshuki qaalat ka’annahoo hoo; wa ooteenal ‘ilma min qablihaa wa kunnaa muslimeen
Sahih International:
So when she arrived, it was said [to her], “Is your throne like this?” She said, “[It is] as though it was it.” [Solomon said], “And we were given knowledge before her, and we have been Muslims [in submission to Allah].
وَصَدَّهَا مَا كَانَت تَّعْبُدُ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنَّهَا كَانَتْ مِن قَوْمٍۢ كَـٰفِرِينَ
27:43play_arrow
Wa saddahaa maa kaanat ta’budu min doonil laahi innahaa kaanat min qawmin kaafireen
Sahih International:
And that which she was worshipping other than Allah had averted her [from submission to Him]. Indeed, she was from a disbelieving people.”
قِيلَ لَهَا ٱدْخُلِى ٱلصَّرْحَ ۖ فَلَمَّا رَأَتْهُ حَسِبَتْهُ لُجَّةًۭ وَكَشَفَتْ عَن سَاقَيْهَا ۚ قَالَ إِنَّهُۥ صَرْحٌۭ مُّمَرَّدٌۭ مِّن قَوَارِيرَ ۗ قَالَتْ رَبِّ إِنِّى ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِى وَأَسْلَمْتُ مَعَ سُلَيْمَـٰنَ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ
27:44play_arrow
Qeela lahad khulis sarha falammaa ra at hu hasibat hu lujjatanw wa khashafat ‘an saaqaihaa; qaala innahoo sarhum mumarradum min qawaareer; qaalat Rabbi innee zalamtu nafsee wa aslamtu ma’a Sulaimaana lillaahi Rabbil ‘aalameen (section 3)
Sahih International:
She was told, “Enter the palace.” But when she saw it, she thought it was a body of water and uncovered her shins [to wade through]. He said, “Indeed, it is a palace [whose floor is] made smooth with glass.” She said, “My Lord, indeed I have wronged myself, and I submit with Solomon to Allah, Lord of the worlds.”
وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَىٰ ثَمُودَ أَخَاهُمْ صَـٰلِحًا أَنِ ٱعْبُدُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ فَإِذَا هُمْ فَرِيقَانِ يَخْتَصِمُونَ
27:45play_arrow
Wa laqad arsalnaaa ilaa Samooda akhaahum Saalihan ani’budul laaha fa izaa hum fareeqaani yakhtasimoon
Sahih International:
And We had certainly sent to Thamud their brother Salih, [saying], “Worship Allah,” and at once they were two parties conflicting.
قَالَ يَـٰقَوْمِ لِمَ تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ بِٱلسَّيِّئَةِ قَبْلَ ٱلْحَسَنَةِ ۖ لَوْلَا تَسْتَغْفِرُونَ ٱللَّهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ
27:46play_arrow
Qaala yaa qawmi lima tasta’jiloona bissaiyi’ati qablal hasanati law laa tas taghfiroonal laaha la’allakum turhamoon
Sahih International:
He said, “O my people, why are you impatient for evil instead of good? Why do you not seek forgiveness of Allah that you may receive mercy?”
قَالُوا۟ ٱطَّيَّرْنَا بِكَ وَبِمَن مَّعَكَ ۚ قَالَ طَـٰٓئِرُكُمْ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ ۖ بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌۭ تُفْتَنُونَ
27:47play_arrow
Qaalut taiyarnaa bika wa bimam ma’ak; qaala taaa’irukum ‘indal laahi bal antum qawmun tuftanoon
Sahih International:
They said, “We consider you a bad omen, you and those with you.” He said, “Your omen is with Allah. Rather, you are a people being tested.”
وَكَانَ فِى ٱلْمَدِينَةِ تِسْعَةُ رَهْطٍۢ يُفْسِدُونَ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا يُصْلِحُونَ
27:48play_arrow
Wa kaana fil madeenati tis’atu rahtiny yufsidoona fil ardi wa laa yuslihoon
Sahih International:
And there were in the city nine family heads causing corruption in the land and not amending [its affairs].
قَالُوا۟ تَقَاسَمُوا۟ بِٱللَّهِ لَنُبَيِّتَنَّهُۥ وَأَهْلَهُۥ ثُمَّ لَنَقُولَنَّ لِوَلِيِّهِۦ مَا شَهِدْنَا مَهْلِكَ أَهْلِهِۦ وَإِنَّا لَصَـٰدِقُونَ
27:49play_arrow
Qaaloo taqaasamoo billaahi lanubaiyitannahoo wa ahlahoo summaa lanaqoolana liwaliy yihee maa shahidnaa mahlika ahlihee wa innaa lasaadiqoon
Sahih International:
They said, “Take a mutual oath by Allah that we will kill him by night, he and his family. Then we will say to his executor, ‘We did not witness the destruction of his family, and indeed, we are truthful.’ “
وَمَكَرُوا۟ مَكْرًۭا وَمَكَرْنَا مَكْرًۭا وَهُمْ لَا يَشْعُرُونَ
27:50play_arrow
Wa makaroo makranw wa makarnaa makranw wa hum laa yash’uroon
Sahih International:
And they planned a plan, and We planned a plan, while they perceived not.
فَٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ كَانَ عَـٰقِبَةُ مَكْرِهِمْ أَنَّا دَمَّرْنَـٰهُمْ وَقَوْمَهُمْ أَجْمَعِينَ
27:51play_arrow
Fanzur kaifa kaana ‘aaqibatu makrihim annaa dammar naahum wa qawmahum ajma’een
Sahih International:
Then look how was the outcome of their plan – that We destroyed them and their people, all.
فَتِلْكَ بُيُوتُهُمْ خَاوِيَةًۢ بِمَا ظَلَمُوٓا۟ ۗ إِنَّ فِى ذَٰلِكَ لَـَٔايَةًۭ لِّقَوْمٍۢ يَعْلَمُونَ
27:52play_arrow
Fatilka buyootuhum khaa wiyatam bimaa zalamoo; inna fee zaalika la Aayatal liqaw miny-ya’lamoon
Sahih International:
So those are their houses, desolate because of the wrong they had done. Indeed in that is a sign for people who know.
وَأَنجَيْنَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَكَانُوا۟ يَتَّقُونَ
27:53play_arrow
Wa anjainal lazeena aamanoo wa kaanoo yattaqoon
Sahih International:
And We saved those who believed and used to fear Allah.
وَلُوطًا إِذْ قَالَ لِقَوْمِهِۦٓ أَتَأْتُونَ ٱلْفَـٰحِشَةَ وَأَنتُمْ تُبْصِرُونَ
27:54play_arrow
Wa lootan iz qaala liqawmiheee ataatoonal faa hishata wa antum tubsiroon
Sahih International:
And [mention] Lot, when he said to his people, “Do you commit immorality while you are seeing?
أَئِنَّكُمْ لَتَأْتُونَ ٱلرِّجَالَ شَهْوَةًۭ مِّن دُونِ ٱلنِّسَآءِ ۚ بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌۭ تَجْهَلُونَ
27:55play_arrow
A’innakum lataatoonar rijaala shahwatam min doonin nisaaa’; bal antum qawmun tajhaloon (End Juz 19)
Sahih International:
Do you indeed approach men with desire instead of women? Rather, you are a people behaving ignorantly.”
