قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ أَيُّهَا ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ
51:31play_arrow
Qaala famaa khatbukum ayyuhal mursaloon
Sahih International:
[Abraham] said, “Then what is your business [here], O messengers?”
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّآ أُرْسِلْنَآ إِلَىٰ قَوْمٍۢ مُّجْرِمِينَ
51:32play_arrow
Qaalooo innaaa ursilnaaa ilaa qawmim mujrimeen
Sahih International:
They said, “Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals
لِنُرْسِلَ عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَةًۭ مِّن طِينٍۢ
51:33play_arrow
Linursila ‘alaihim hijaa ratam min teen
Sahih International:
To send down upon them stones of clay,
مُّسَوَّمَةً عِندَ رَبِّكَ لِلْمُسْرِفِينَ
51:34play_arrow
Musawwamatan ‘inda rabbika lilmusrifeen
Sahih International:
Marked in the presence of your Lord for the transgressors.”
فَأَخْرَجْنَا مَن كَانَ فِيهَا مِنَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
51:35play_arrow
Fa akhrajnaa man kaana feehaa minal mu’mineen
Sahih International:
So We brought out whoever was in the cities of the believers.
فَمَا وَجَدْنَا فِيهَا غَيْرَ بَيْتٍۢ مِّنَ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ
51:36play_arrow
Famaa wajadnaa feehaa ghaira baitim minal muslimeen
Sahih International:
And We found not within them other than a [single] house of Muslims.
وَتَرَكْنَا فِيهَآ ءَايَةًۭ لِّلَّذِينَ يَخَافُونَ ٱلْعَذَابَ ٱلْأَلِيمَ
51:37play_arrow
Wa taraknaa feehaaa aayatal lillazeena yakhaafoonal ‘azaabal aleem
Sahih International:
And We left therein a sign for those who fear the painful punishment.
وَفِى مُوسَىٰٓ إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَـٰهُ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ بِسُلْطَـٰنٍۢ مُّبِينٍۢ
51:38play_arrow
Wa fee Moosaaa iz arsalnaahu ilaa Fir’awna bisultaa nim mubeen
Sahih International:
And in Moses [was a sign], when We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority.
فَتَوَلَّىٰ بِرُكْنِهِۦ وَقَالَ سَـٰحِرٌ أَوْ مَجْنُونٌۭ
51:39play_arrow
Fatawalla biruknihee wa qaala saahirun aw majnoon
Sahih International:
But he turned away with his supporters and said,” A magician or a madman.”
فَأَخَذْنَـٰهُ وَجُنُودَهُۥ فَنَبَذْنَـٰهُمْ فِى ٱلْيَمِّ وَهُوَ مُلِيمٌۭ
51:40play_arrow
Fa akhaznaahu wa junoo dahoo fanabaznaahum fil yammi wa huwa muleem
Sahih International:
So We took him and his soldiers and cast them into the sea, and he was blameworthy.
وَفِى عَادٍ إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ ٱلرِّيحَ ٱلْعَقِيمَ
51:41play_arrow
Wa fee ‘Aadin iz arsalnaa ‘alaihimur reehal’aqeem
Sahih International:
And in ‘Aad [was a sign], when We sent against them the barren wind.
مَا تَذَرُ مِن شَىْءٍ أَتَتْ عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا جَعَلَتْهُ كَٱلرَّمِيمِ
51:42play_arrow
Maa tazaru min shai’in atat ‘alaihi illaa ja’alat hu karrameem
Sahih International:
It left nothing of what it came upon but that it made it like disintegrated ruins.
وَفِى ثَمُودَ إِذْ قِيلَ لَهُمْ تَمَتَّعُوا۟ حَتَّىٰ حِينٍۢ
51:43play_arrow
Wa fee Samooda iz qeela lahum tamatta”oo hattaa heen
Sahih International:
And in Thamud, when it was said to them, “Enjoy yourselves for a time.”
فَعَتَوْا۟ عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهِمْ فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ ٱلصَّـٰعِقَةُ وَهُمْ يَنظُرُونَ
51:44play_arrow
Fa’ataw ‘an amri Rabbihim fa akhazat humus saa’iqatu wa hum yanzuroon
Sahih International:
But they were insolent toward the command of their Lord, so the thunderbolt seized them while they were looking on.
فَمَا ٱسْتَطَـٰعُوا۟ مِن قِيَامٍۢ وَمَا كَانُوا۟ مُنتَصِرِينَ
51:45play_arrow
Famas tataa’oo min qiyaaminw wa maa kaanoo muntasireen
Sahih International:
And they were unable to arise, nor could they defend themselves.
وَقَوْمَ نُوحٍۢ مِّن قَبْلُ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ قَوْمًۭا فَـٰسِقِينَ
51:46play_arrow
Wa qawma Noohim min qablu innahum kaano qawman faasiqeen
Sahih International:
And [We destroyed] the people of Noah before; indeed, they were a people defiantly disobedient.
وَٱلسَّمَآءَ بَنَيْنَـٰهَا بِأَيْي۟دٍۢ وَإِنَّا لَمُوسِعُونَ
51:47play_arrow
Wassamaaa’a banainaa haa bi aydinw wa innaa lamoosi’oon
Sahih International:
And the heaven We constructed with strength, and indeed, We are [its] expander.
وَٱلْأَرْضَ فَرَشْنَـٰهَا فَنِعْمَ ٱلْمَـٰهِدُونَ
51:48play_arrow
Wal arda farashnaahaa fani’mal maahidoon
Sahih International:
And the earth We have spread out, and excellent is the preparer.
وَمِن كُلِّ شَىْءٍ خَلَقْنَا زَوْجَيْنِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ
51:49play_arrow
Wa min kulli shai’in khalaqnaa zawjaini la’allakum tazakkaroon
Sahih International:
And of all things We created two mates; perhaps you will remember.
فَفِرُّوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ ۖ إِنِّى لَكُم مِّنْهُ نَذِيرٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭ
51:50play_arrow
Fafirrooo ilal laahi innee lakum minhu nazeerum mubeen
Sahih International:
So flee to Allah. Indeed, I am to you from Him a clear warner.
وَلَا تَجْعَلُوا۟ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ إِلَـٰهًا ءَاخَرَ ۖ إِنِّى لَكُم مِّنْهُ نَذِيرٌۭ مُّبِينٌۭ
51:51play_arrow
Wa laa taj’aloo ma’al laahi ilaahan aakhara innee lakum minhu nazeerum mubeen
Sahih International:
And do not make [as equal] with Allah another deity. Indeed, I am to you from Him a clear warner.
كَذَٰلِكَ مَآ أَتَى ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا قَالُوا۟ سَاحِرٌ أَوْ مَجْنُونٌ
51:52play_arrow
Kazaalika maaa atal lazeena min qablihim mir Rasoolin illaa qaaloo saahirun aw majnoon
Sahih International:
Similarly, there came not to those before them any messenger except that they said, “A magician or a madman.”
أَتَوَاصَوْا۟ بِهِۦ ۚ بَلْ هُمْ قَوْمٌۭ طَاغُونَ
51:53play_arrow
Atawaasaw bih; bal hum qawmun taaghoon
Sahih International:
Did they suggest it to them? Rather, they [themselves] are a transgressing people.
فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ فَمَآ أَنتَ بِمَلُومٍۢ
51:54play_arrow
Fatawalla ‘anhum famaaa anta bimaloom
Sahih International:
So leave them, [O Muhammad], for you are not to be blamed.
وَذَكِّرْ فَإِنَّ ٱلذِّكْرَىٰ تَنفَعُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنِينَ
51:55play_arrow
Wa zakkir fa innaz zikraa tanfa’ul mu’mineen
Sahih International:
And remind, for indeed, the reminder benefits the believers.
وَمَا خَلَقْتُ ٱلْجِنَّ وَٱلْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ
51:56play_arrow
Wa maa khalaqtul jinna wal insa illaa liya’budoon
Sahih International:
And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me.
مَآ أُرِيدُ مِنْهُم مِّن رِّزْقٍۢ وَمَآ أُرِيدُ أَن يُطْعِمُونِ
51:57play_arrow
Maaa ureedu minhum mir rizqinw wa maaa ureedu anyyut’imoon
Sahih International:
I do not want from them any provision, nor do I want them to feed Me.
إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ هُوَ ٱلرَّزَّاقُ ذُو ٱلْقُوَّةِ ٱلْمَتِينُ
51:58play_arrow
Innal laaha Huwar Razzaaqu Zul Quwwatil Mateen
Sahih International:
Indeed, it is Allah who is the [continual] Provider, the firm possessor of strength.
فَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ ذَنُوبًۭا مِّثْلَ ذَنُوبِ أَصْحَـٰبِهِمْ فَلَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونِ
51:59play_arrow
Fa inna lillazeena zalamoo zanoobam misla zanoobi ashaabihim falaa yasta’jiloon
Sahih International:
And indeed, for those who have wronged is a portion [of punishment] like the portion of their predecessors, so let them not impatiently urge Me.
فَوَيْلٌۭ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ مِن يَوْمِهِمُ ٱلَّذِى يُوعَدُونَ
51:60play_arrow
Fawailul lillazeena kafaroo miny yawmihimul lazee yoo’adoon
Sahih International:
And woe to those who have disbelieved from their Day which they are promised.
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
52:0play_arrow
Bismillah hir rahman nir raheem
Sahih International:
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
وَٱلطُّورِ
52:1play_arrow
Wat-Toor
Sahih International:
By the mount
وَكِتَـٰبٍۢ مَّسْطُورٍۢ
52:2play_arrow
Wa kitaabim mastoor
Sahih International:
And [by] a Book inscribed
فِى رَقٍّۢ مَّنشُورٍۢ
52:3play_arrow
Fee raqqim manshoor
Sahih International:
In parchment spread open
وَٱلْبَيْتِ ٱلْمَعْمُورِ
52:4play_arrow
Wal baitil ma’moor
Sahih International:
And [by] the frequented House
وَٱلسَّقْفِ ٱلْمَرْفُوعِ
52:5play_arrow
Wassaqfil marfoo’
Sahih International:
And [by] the heaven raised high
وَٱلْبَحْرِ ٱلْمَسْجُورِ
52:6play_arrow
Wal bahril masjoor
Sahih International:
And [by] the sea filled [with fire],
إِنَّ عَذَابَ رَبِّكَ لَوَٰقِعٌۭ
52:7play_arrow
Inna ‘azaaba Rabbika lawaaqi’
Sahih International:
Indeed, the punishment of your Lord will occur.
مَّا لَهُۥ مِن دَافِعٍۢ
52:8play_arrow
Maa lahoo min daafi’
Sahih International:
Of it there is no preventer.
يَوْمَ تَمُورُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ مَوْرًۭا
52:9play_arrow
Yawma tamoorus samaaa’u mawraa
Sahih International:
On the Day the heaven will sway with circular motion
وَتَسِيرُ ٱلْجِبَالُ سَيْرًۭا
52:10play_arrow
Wa taseerul jibaalu sairaa
Sahih International:
And the mountains will pass on, departing –
فَوَيْلٌۭ يَوْمَئِذٍۢ لِّلْمُكَذِّبِينَ
52:11play_arrow
Fawailuny yawma ‘izil lil mukaazzibeen
Sahih International:
Then woe, that Day, to the deniers,
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ فِى خَوْضٍۢ يَلْعَبُونَ
52:12play_arrow
Allazeena hum fee khawdiny yal’aboon
Sahih International:
Who are in [empty] discourse amusing themselves.
يَوْمَ يُدَعُّونَ إِلَىٰ نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ دَعًّا
52:13play_arrow
Yawma yuda’-‘oona ilaa naari jahannama da’-‘aa
Sahih International:
The Day they are thrust toward the fire of Hell with a [violent] thrust, [its angels will say],
هَـٰذِهِ ٱلنَّارُ ٱلَّتِى كُنتُم بِهَا تُكَذِّبُونَ
52:14play_arrow
Haazihin naarul latee kuntum bihaa tukazziboon
Sahih International:
“This is the Fire which you used to deny.
أَفَسِحْرٌ هَـٰذَآ أَمْ أَنتُمْ لَا تُبْصِرُونَ
52:15play_arrow
Afasihrun haazaaaa am antum laa tubsiroon
Sahih International:
Then is this magic, or do you not see?
ٱصْلَوْهَا فَٱصْبِرُوٓا۟ أَوْ لَا تَصْبِرُوا۟ سَوَآءٌ عَلَيْكُمْ ۖ إِنَّمَا تُجْزَوْنَ مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
52:16play_arrow
Islawhaa fasbirooo aw laa tasbiroo sawaaa’un ‘alaikum innamaa tujzawna maa kuntum ta’maloon
Sahih International:
[Enter to] burn therein; then be patient or impatient – it is all the same for you. You are only being recompensed [for] what you used to do.”
إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى جَنَّـٰتٍۢ وَنَعِيمٍۢ
52:17play_arrow
Innal muttaqeena fee jannaatinw wa na’eem
Sahih International:
Indeed, the righteous will be in gardens and pleasure,
فَـٰكِهِينَ بِمَآ ءَاتَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ وَوَقَىٰهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ عَذَابَ ٱلْجَحِيمِ
52:18play_arrow
Faakiheena bimaaa aataahum rabbuhum wa waqaahum rabbuhum ‘azaabal jaheem
Sahih International:
Enjoying what their Lord has given them, and their Lord protected them from the punishment of Hellfire.
كُلُوا۟ وَٱشْرَبُوا۟ هَنِيٓـًٔۢا بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ
52:19play_arrow
Kuloo washraboo haneee ‘am bimaa kuntum ta’maloon
Sahih International:
[They will be told], “Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you used to do.”
مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ سُرُرٍۢ مَّصْفُوفَةٍۢ ۖ وَزَوَّجْنَـٰهُم بِحُورٍ عِينٍۢ
52:20play_arrow
Muttaki’eena ‘alaa sururim masfoofatinw wa zawwaj naahum bihoorin ‘een
Sahih International:
They will be reclining on thrones lined up, and We will marry them to fair women with large, [beautiful] eyes.
وَٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ وَٱتَّبَعَتْهُمْ ذُرِّيَّتُهُم بِإِيمَـٰنٍ أَلْحَقْنَا بِهِمْ ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ وَمَآ أَلَتْنَـٰهُم مِّنْ عَمَلِهِم مِّن شَىْءٍۢ ۚ كُلُّ ٱمْرِئٍۭ بِمَا كَسَبَ رَهِينٌۭ
52:21play_arrow
Wallazeena aamanoo wattaba’at hum zurriyyatuhum bieemaanin alhaqnaa bihim zurriyyatahum wa maaa alatnaahum min ‘amalihim min shai’; kullum ri’im bimaa kasaba raheen
Sahih International:
And those who believed and whose descendants followed them in faith – We will join with them their descendants, and We will not deprive them of anything of their deeds. Every person, for what he earned, is retained.
وَأَمْدَدْنَـٰهُم بِفَـٰكِهَةٍۢ وَلَحْمٍۢ مِّمَّا يَشْتَهُونَ
52:22play_arrow
Wa amdadnaahum bifaa kihatinw wa lahmim mimmaa yashtahoon
Sahih International:
And We will provide them with fruit and meat from whatever they desire.
يَتَنَـٰزَعُونَ فِيهَا كَأْسًۭا لَّا لَغْوٌۭ فِيهَا وَلَا تَأْثِيمٌۭ
52:23play_arrow
Yatanaaza’oona feehaa kaasal laa laghwun feehaa wa laa taaseem
Sahih International:
They will exchange with one another a cup [of wine] wherein [results] no ill speech or commission of sin.
وَيَطُوفُ عَلَيْهِمْ غِلْمَانٌۭ لَّهُمْ كَأَنَّهُمْ لُؤْلُؤٌۭ مَّكْنُونٌۭ
52:24play_arrow
Wa yatoofu ‘alaihim ghilmaanul lahum ka annahum lu’lu’um maknoon
Sahih International:
There will circulate among them [servant] boys [especially] for them, as if they were pearls well-protected.
وَأَقْبَلَ بَعْضُهُمْ عَلَىٰ بَعْضٍۢ يَتَسَآءَلُونَ
52:25play_arrow
Wa aqbala ba’duhum ‘alaa ba’diny yatasaaa’aloon
Sahih International:
And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other.
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا كُنَّا قَبْلُ فِىٓ أَهْلِنَا مُشْفِقِينَ
52:26play_arrow
Qaalooo innaa kunnaa qablu feee ahlinaa mushfiqeen
Sahih International:
They will say, “Indeed, we were previously among our people fearful [of displeasing Allah].
فَمَنَّ ٱللَّهُ عَلَيْنَا وَوَقَىٰنَا عَذَابَ ٱلسَّمُومِ
52:27play_arrow
Famannnal laahu ‘alainaa wa waqaanaa ‘azaabas samoom
Sahih International:
So Allah conferred favor upon us and protected us from the punishment of the Scorching Fire.
إِنَّا كُنَّا مِن قَبْلُ نَدْعُوهُ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْبَرُّ ٱلرَّحِيمُ
52:28play_arrow
Innaa kunnaa min qablu nad’oohu innahoo huwal barrur raheem
Sahih International:
Indeed, we used to supplicate Him before. Indeed, it is He who is the Beneficent, the Merciful.”
فَذَكِّرْ فَمَآ أَنتَ بِنِعْمَتِ رَبِّكَ بِكَاهِنٍۢ وَلَا مَجْنُونٍ
52:29play_arrow
Fazakkir famaaa anta bini’mati rabbika bikaahininw wa laa majnoon
Sahih International:
So remind [O Muhammad], for you are not, by the favor of your Lord, a soothsayer or a madman.
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ شَاعِرٌۭ نَّتَرَبَّصُ بِهِۦ رَيْبَ ٱلْمَنُونِ
52:30play_arrow
Am yaqooloona shaa’irun natarabbasu bihee raibal manoon
Sahih International:
Or do they say [of you], “A poet for whom we await a misfortune of time?”
قُلْ تَرَبَّصُوا۟ فَإِنِّى مَعَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْمُتَرَبِّصِينَ
52:31play_arrow
Qul tarabbasoo fa innee ma’akum minal mutarabbiseen
Sahih International:
Say, “Wait, for indeed I am, with you, among the waiters.”
أَمْ تَأْمُرُهُمْ أَحْلَـٰمُهُم بِهَـٰذَآ ۚ أَمْ هُمْ قَوْمٌۭ طَاغُونَ
52:32play_arrow
Am taamuruhum ahlaamuhum bihaazaaa am hum qawmun taaghoon
Sahih International:
Or do their minds command them to [say] this, or are they a transgressing people?
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ تَقَوَّلَهُۥ ۚ بَل لَّا يُؤْمِنُونَ
52:33play_arrow
Am yaqooloona taqawwalah; bal laa yu’minoon
Sahih International:
Or do they say, “He has made it up”? Rather, they do not believe.
فَلْيَأْتُوا۟ بِحَدِيثٍۢ مِّثْلِهِۦٓ إِن كَانُوا۟ صَـٰدِقِينَ
52:34play_arrow
Falyaatoo bihadeesim misliheee in kaanoo saadiqeen
Sahih International:
Then let them produce a statement like it, if they should be truthful.
أَمْ خُلِقُوا۟ مِنْ غَيْرِ شَىْءٍ أَمْ هُمُ ٱلْخَـٰلِقُونَ
52:35play_arrow
Am khuliqoo min ghairi shai’in am humul khaaliqoon
Sahih International:
Or were they created by nothing, or were they the creators [of themselves]?
أَمْ خَلَقُوا۟ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضَ ۚ بَل لَّا يُوقِنُونَ
52:36play_arrow
Am khalaqus samaawaati wal ard; bal laa yooqinoon
Sahih International:
Or did they create the heavens and the earth? Rather, they are not certain.
أَمْ عِندَهُمْ خَزَآئِنُ رَبِّكَ أَمْ هُمُ ٱلْمُصَۣيْطِرُونَ
52:37play_arrow
Am’indahum khazaaa’inu rabbika am humul musaitiroon
Sahih International:
Or have they the depositories [containing the provision] of your Lord? Or are they the controllers [of them]?
أَمْ لَهُمْ سُلَّمٌۭ يَسْتَمِعُونَ فِيهِ ۖ فَلْيَأْتِ مُسْتَمِعُهُم بِسُلْطَـٰنٍۢ مُّبِينٍ
52:38play_arrow
Am lahum sullamuny yastami’oona feehi falyaati mustami’uhum bisultaanim mubeen
Sahih International:
Or have they a stairway [into the heaven] upon which they listen? Then let their listener produce a clear authority.
أَمْ لَهُ ٱلْبَنَـٰتُ وَلَكُمُ ٱلْبَنُونَ
52:39play_arrow
Am lahul banaatu wa lakumul banoon
Sahih International:
Or has He daughters while you have sons?
أَمْ تَسْـَٔلُهُمْ أَجْرًۭا فَهُم مِّن مَّغْرَمٍۢ مُّثْقَلُونَ
52:40play_arrow
Am tas’aluhum ajran fahum mim maghramim musqaloon
Sahih International:
Or do you, [O Muhammad], ask of them a payment, so they are by debt burdened down?
أَمْ عِندَهُمُ ٱلْغَيْبُ فَهُمْ يَكْتُبُونَ
52:41play_arrow
Am ‘indahumul ghaibu fahum yaktuboon
Sahih International:
Or have they [knowledge of] the unseen, so they write [it] down?
أَمْ يُرِيدُونَ كَيْدًۭا ۖ فَٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ هُمُ ٱلْمَكِيدُونَ
52:42play_arrow
Am yureedoona kaidan fallazeena kafaroo humul makeedoon
Sahih International:
Or do they intend a plan? But those who disbelieve – they are the object of a plan.
أَمْ لَهُمْ إِلَـٰهٌ غَيْرُ ٱللَّهِ ۚ سُبْحَـٰنَ ٱللَّهِ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ
52:43play_arrow
Am lahum ilaahun ghairul laa; subhaanal laahi ‘ammaa yushrikoon
Sahih International:
Or have they a deity other than Allah? Exalted is Allah above whatever they associate with Him.
وَإِن يَرَوْا۟ كِسْفًۭا مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ سَاقِطًۭا يَقُولُوا۟ سَحَابٌۭ مَّرْكُومٌۭ
52:44play_arrow
Wa iny yaraw kisfam minas samaaa’i saaqitany yaqooloo sahaabum markoom
Sahih International:
And if they were to see a fragment from the sky falling, they would say, “[It is merely] clouds heaped up.”
فَذَرْهُمْ حَتَّىٰ يُلَـٰقُوا۟ يَوْمَهُمُ ٱلَّذِى فِيهِ يُصْعَقُونَ
52:45play_arrow
Fazarhum hatta yulaaqoo yawmahumul lazee feehi yus’aqoon
Sahih International:
So leave them until they meet their Day in which they will be struck insensible –
يَوْمَ لَا يُغْنِى عَنْهُمْ كَيْدُهُمْ شَيْـًۭٔا وَلَا هُمْ يُنصَرُونَ
52:46play_arrow
Yawma laa yughnee ‘anhum kaiduhum shai’anw wa laa hum yunsaroon
Sahih International:
The Day their plan will not avail them at all, nor will they be helped.
وَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا۟ عَذَابًۭا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَ وَلَـٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
52:47play_arrow
Wa inna lillazeena zalamoo ‘azaaban doona zalika wa laakinna aksarahum laa ya’lamoon
Sahih International:
And indeed, for those who have wronged is a punishment before that, but most of them do not know.
وَٱصْبِرْ لِحُكْمِ رَبِّكَ فَإِنَّكَ بِأَعْيُنِنَا ۖ وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ
52:48play_arrow
Wasbir lihukmi rabbika fa innaka bi-a’yuninaa wa sabbih bihamdi rabbika heena taqoom
Sahih International:
And be patient, [O Muhammad], for the decision of your Lord, for indeed, you are in Our eyes. And exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord when you arise.
وَمِنَ ٱلَّيْلِ فَسَبِّحْهُ وَإِدْبَـٰرَ ٱلنُّجُومِ
52:49play_arrow
Wa minal laili fasabbihhu wa idbaaran nujoom
Sahih International:
And in a part of the night exalt Him and after [the setting of] the stars.
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
53:0play_arrow
Bismillah hir rahman nir raheem
Sahih International:
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
وَٱلنَّجْمِ إِذَا هَوَىٰ
53:1play_arrow
Wannajmi izaa hawaa
Sahih International:
By the star when it descends,
مَا ضَلَّ صَاحِبُكُمْ وَمَا غَوَىٰ
53:2play_arrow
Maa dalla saahibukum wa maa ghawaa
Sahih International:
Your companion [Muhammad] has not strayed, nor has he erred,
وَمَا يَنطِقُ عَنِ ٱلْهَوَىٰٓ
53:3play_arrow
Wa maa yyantiqu ‘anilhawaaa
Sahih International:
Nor does he speak from [his own] inclination.
إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا وَحْىٌۭ يُوحَىٰ
53:4play_arrow
In huwa illaa Wahyuny yoohaa
Sahih International:
It is not but a revelation revealed,
عَلَّمَهُۥ شَدِيدُ ٱلْقُوَىٰ
53:5play_arrow
‘Allamahoo shadeedul quwaa
Sahih International:
Taught to him by one intense in strength –
ذُو مِرَّةٍۢ فَٱسْتَوَىٰ
53:6play_arrow
Zoo mirratin fastawaa
Sahih International:
One of soundness. And he rose to [his] true form
وَهُوَ بِٱلْأُفُقِ ٱلْأَعْلَىٰ
53:7play_arrow
Wa huwa bil ufuqil a’laa
Sahih International:
While he was in the higher [part of the] horizon.
ثُمَّ دَنَا فَتَدَلَّىٰ
53:8play_arrow
Summa danaa fatadalla
Sahih International:
Then he approached and descended
فَكَانَ قَابَ قَوْسَيْنِ أَوْ أَدْنَىٰ
53:9play_arrow
Fakaana qaaba qawsaini aw adnaa
Sahih International:
And was at a distance of two bow lengths or nearer.
فَأَوْحَىٰٓ إِلَىٰ عَبْدِهِۦ مَآ أَوْحَىٰ
53:10play_arrow
Fa awhaaa ilaa ‘abdihee maaa awhaa
Sahih International:
And he revealed to His Servant what he revealed.
مَا كَذَبَ ٱلْفُؤَادُ مَا رَأَىٰٓ
53:11play_arrow
Maa kazabal fu’aadu maa ra aa
Sahih International:
The heart did not lie [about] what it saw.
أَفَتُمَـٰرُونَهُۥ عَلَىٰ مَا يَرَىٰ
53:12play_arrow
Afatumaaroonahoo ‘alaa maayaraa
Sahih International:
So will you dispute with him over what he saw?
وَلَقَدْ رَءَاهُ نَزْلَةً أُخْرَىٰ
53:13play_arrow
Wa laqad ra aahu nazlatan ukhraa
Sahih International:
And he certainly saw him in another descent
عِندَ سِدْرَةِ ٱلْمُنتَهَىٰ
53:14play_arrow
‘Inda sidratil muntaha
Sahih International:
At the Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary –
عِندَهَا جَنَّةُ ٱلْمَأْوَىٰٓ
53:15play_arrow
‘Indahaa jannatul maawaa
Sahih International:
Near it is the Garden of Refuge –
إِذْ يَغْشَى ٱلسِّدْرَةَ مَا يَغْشَىٰ
53:16play_arrow
Iz yaghshas sidrata maa yaghshaa
Sahih International:
When there covered the Lote Tree that which covered [it].
مَا زَاغَ ٱلْبَصَرُ وَمَا طَغَىٰ
53:17play_arrow
Maa zaaghal basaru wa maa taghaa
Sahih International:
The sight [of the Prophet] did not swerve, nor did it transgress [its limit].
لَقَدْ رَأَىٰ مِنْ ءَايَـٰتِ رَبِّهِ ٱلْكُبْرَىٰٓ
53:18play_arrow
Laqad ra aa min aayaati Rabbihil kubraaa
Sahih International:
He certainly saw of the greatest signs of his Lord.
أَفَرَءَيْتُمُ ٱللَّـٰتَ وَٱلْعُزَّىٰ
53:19play_arrow
Afara’aytumul laata wal ‘uzzaa
Sahih International:
So have you considered al-Lat and al-‘Uzza?
وَمَنَوٰةَ ٱلثَّالِثَةَ ٱلْأُخْرَىٰٓ
53:20play_arrow
Wa manaatas saalisatal ukhraa
Sahih International:
And Manat, the third – the other one?
أَلَكُمُ ٱلذَّكَرُ وَلَهُ ٱلْأُنثَىٰ
53:21play_arrow
A-lakumuz zakaru wa lahul unsaa
Sahih International:
Is the male for you and for Him the female?
تِلْكَ إِذًۭا قِسْمَةٌۭ ضِيزَىٰٓ
53:22play_arrow
Tilka izan qismatun deezaa
Sahih International:
That, then, is an unjust division.
إِنْ هِىَ إِلَّآ أَسْمَآءٌۭ سَمَّيْتُمُوهَآ أَنتُمْ وَءَابَآؤُكُم مَّآ أَنزَلَ ٱللَّهُ بِهَا مِن سُلْطَـٰنٍ ۚ إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّ وَمَا تَهْوَى ٱلْأَنفُسُ ۖ وَلَقَدْ جَآءَهُم مِّن رَّبِّهِمُ ٱلْهُدَىٰٓ
53:23play_arrow
In hiya illaaa asmaaa’un sammaitumoohaaa antum wa aabaaa’ukum maaa anzalal laahu bihaa min sultaan; inyyattabi’oona illaz zanna wa maa tahwal anfusu wa laqad jaaa’ahum mir Rabbihimul hudaa
Sahih International:
They are not but [mere] names you have named them – you and your forefathers – for which Allah has sent down no authority. They follow not except assumption and what [their] souls desire, and there has already come to them from their Lord guidance.
أَمْ لِلْإِنسَـٰنِ مَا تَمَنَّىٰ
53:24play_arrow
Am lil insaani maa taman naa
Sahih International:
Or is there for man whatever he wishes?
فَلِلَّهِ ٱلْـَٔاخِرَةُ وَٱلْأُولَىٰ
53:25play_arrow
Falillaahil aakhiratu wal oolaa
Sahih International:
Rather, to Allah belongs the Hereafter and the first [life].
وَكَم مِّن مَّلَكٍۢ فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ لَا تُغْنِى شَفَـٰعَتُهُمْ شَيْـًٔا إِلَّا مِنۢ بَعْدِ أَن يَأْذَنَ ٱللَّهُ لِمَن يَشَآءُ وَيَرْضَىٰٓ
53:26play_arrow
Wa kam mim malakin fissamaawaati laa tughnee shafaa’atuhum shai’an illaa mim ba’di anyyaazanal laahu limany yashaaa’u wa yardaa
Sahih International:
And how many angels there are in the heavens whose intercession will not avail at all except [only] after Allah has permitted [it] to whom He wills and approves.
إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱلْـَٔاخِرَةِ لَيُسَمُّونَ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَ تَسْمِيَةَ ٱلْأُنثَىٰ
53:27play_arrow
innal lazeena laa yu’minoona bil aakhirati la yusammoonal malaaa’ikata tasmiyatal unsaa
Sahih International:
Indeed, those who do not believe in the Hereafter name the angels female names,
وَمَا لَهُم بِهِۦ مِنْ عِلْمٍ ۖ إِن يَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا ٱلظَّنَّ ۖ وَإِنَّ ٱلظَّنَّ لَا يُغْنِى مِنَ ٱلْحَقِّ شَيْـًۭٔا
53:28play_arrow
Wa maa lahum bihee min ‘ilmin iny yattabi’oona illaz zanna wa innaz zanna laa yughnee minal haqqi shai’aa
Sahih International:
And they have thereof no knowledge. They follow not except assumption, and indeed, assumption avails not against the truth at all.
فَأَعْرِضْ عَن مَّن تَوَلَّىٰ عَن ذِكْرِنَا وَلَمْ يُرِدْ إِلَّا ٱلْحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنْيَا
53:29play_arrow
Fa a’rid ‘am man tawallaa ‘an zikrinaa wa lam yurid illal hayaatad dunyaa
Sahih International:
So turn away from whoever turns his back on Our message and desires not except the worldly life.
ذَٰلِكَ مَبْلَغُهُم مِّنَ ٱلْعِلْمِ ۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَن ضَلَّ عَن سَبِيلِهِۦ وَهُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَنِ ٱهْتَدَىٰ
53:30play_arrow
Zalika mablaghuhum minal ‘ilm; inna rabbaka huwa a’lamu biman dalla ‘an sabee lihee wa huwa a’lamu bimanih tadaa
Sahih International:
That is their sum of knowledge. Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who strays from His way, and He is most knowing of who is guided.
وَلِلَّهِ مَا فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَمَا فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ لِيَجْزِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَسَـٰٓـُٔوا۟ بِمَا عَمِلُوا۟ وَيَجْزِىَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَحْسَنُوا۟ بِٱلْحُسْنَى
53:31play_arrow
Wa lillaahi maa fis samaawaati wa maa fil ardi liyajziyal lazeena asaaa’oo bimaa ‘amiloo wa yajziyal lazeena ahsanoo bilhusnaa
Sahih International:
And to Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth – that He may recompense those who do evil with [the penalty of] what they have done and recompense those who do good with the best [reward] –
ٱلَّذِينَ يَجْتَنِبُونَ كَبَـٰٓئِرَ ٱلْإِثْمِ وَٱلْفَوَٰحِشَ إِلَّا ٱللَّمَمَ ۚ إِنَّ رَبَّكَ وَٰسِعُ ٱلْمَغْفِرَةِ ۚ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِكُمْ إِذْ أَنشَأَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ وَإِذْ أَنتُمْ أَجِنَّةٌۭ فِى بُطُونِ أُمَّهَـٰتِكُمْ ۖ فَلَا تُزَكُّوٓا۟ أَنفُسَكُمْ ۖ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَنِ ٱتَّقَىٰٓ
53:32play_arrow
Allazeena yajtaniboona kabaaa’iral ismi walfawaa hisha illal lamam; inna rabbaka waasi’ul maghfirah; huwa a’lamu bikum iz ansha akum minal ardi wa iz antum ajinnatun fee butooni umma haatikum falaa tuzakkooo anfusakum huwa a’lamu bimanit taqaa
Sahih International:
Those who avoid the major sins and immoralities, only [committing] slight ones. Indeed, your Lord is vast in forgiveness. He was most knowing of you when He produced you from the earth and when you were fetuses in the wombs of your mothers. So do not claim yourselves to be pure; He is most knowing of who fears Him.
أَفَرَءَيْتَ ٱلَّذِى تَوَلَّىٰ
53:33play_arrow
Afara’ayatal lazee tawallaa
Sahih International:
Have you seen the one who turned away
وَأَعْطَىٰ قَلِيلًۭا وَأَكْدَىٰٓ
53:34play_arrow
Wa a’taa qaleelanw wa akdaa
Sahih International:
And gave a little and [then] refrained?
أَعِندَهُۥ عِلْمُ ٱلْغَيْبِ فَهُوَ يَرَىٰٓ
53:35play_arrow
A’indahoo ‘ilmul ghaibi fahuwa yaraa
Sahih International:
Does he have knowledge of the unseen, so he sees?
أَمْ لَمْ يُنَبَّأْ بِمَا فِى صُحُفِ مُوسَىٰ
53:36play_arrow
Am lam yunabbaa bimaa fee suhuhfi Moosa
Sahih International:
Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses
وَإِبْرَٰهِيمَ ٱلَّذِى وَفَّىٰٓ
53:37play_arrow
Wa Ibraaheemal lazee waffaaa
Sahih International:
And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] –
أَلَّا تَزِرُ وَازِرَةٌۭ وِزْرَ أُخْرَىٰ
53:38play_arrow
Allaa taziru waaziratunw wizra ukhraa
Sahih International:
That no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another
وَأَن لَّيْسَ لِلْإِنسَـٰنِ إِلَّا مَا سَعَىٰ
53:39play_arrow
Wa al laisa lil insaani illaa maa sa’aa
Sahih International:
And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives
وَأَنَّ سَعْيَهُۥ سَوْفَ يُرَىٰ
53:40play_arrow
Wa anna sa’yahoo sawfa yuraa
Sahih International:
And that his effort is going to be seen –
ثُمَّ يُجْزَىٰهُ ٱلْجَزَآءَ ٱلْأَوْفَىٰ
53:41play_arrow
Summa yujzaahul jazaaa ‘al awfaa
Sahih International:
Then he will be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense
وَأَنَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ ٱلْمُنتَهَىٰ
53:42play_arrow
Wa anna ilaa rabbikal muntahaa
Sahih International:
And that to your Lord is the finality
وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَضْحَكَ وَأَبْكَىٰ
53:43play_arrow
Wa annahoo huwa adhaka wa abkaa
Sahih International:
And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep
وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَمَاتَ وَأَحْيَا
53:44play_arrow
Wa annahoo huwa amaata wa ahyaa
Sahih International:
And that it is He who causes death and gives life
وَأَنَّهُۥ خَلَقَ ٱلزَّوْجَيْنِ ٱلذَّكَرَ وَٱلْأُنثَىٰ
53:45play_arrow
Wa annahoo khalaqaz zawjainiz zakara wal unsaa
Sahih International:
And that He creates the two mates – the male and female –
مِن نُّطْفَةٍ إِذَا تُمْنَىٰ
53:46play_arrow
Min nutfatin izaa tumnaa
Sahih International:
From a sperm-drop when it is emitted
وَأَنَّ عَلَيْهِ ٱلنَّشْأَةَ ٱلْأُخْرَىٰ
53:47play_arrow
Wa anna ‘alaihin nash atal ukhraa
Sahih International:
And that [incumbent] upon Him is the next creation
وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ أَغْنَىٰ وَأَقْنَىٰ
53:48play_arrow
Wa annahoo huwa aghnaa wa aqnaa
Sahih International:
And that it is He who enriches and suffices
وَأَنَّهُۥ هُوَ رَبُّ ٱلشِّعْرَىٰ
53:49play_arrow
Wa annahoo huwa rabbush shi’raa
Sahih International:
And that it is He who is the Lord of Sirius
وَأَنَّهُۥٓ أَهْلَكَ عَادًا ٱلْأُولَىٰ
53:50play_arrow
Wa annahooo ahlak a ‘Aadanil oolaa
Sahih International:
And that He destroyed the first [people of] ‘Aad
وَثَمُودَا۟ فَمَآ أَبْقَىٰ
53:51play_arrow
Wa samooda famaaa abqaa
Sahih International:
And Thamud – and He did not spare [them] –
وَقَوْمَ نُوحٍۢ مِّن قَبْلُ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا۟ هُمْ أَظْلَمَ وَأَطْغَىٰ
53:52play_arrow
Wa qawma Noohim min qablu innahum kaanoo hum azlama wa atghaa
Sahih International:
And the people of Noah before. Indeed, it was they who were [even] more unjust and oppressing.
وَٱلْمُؤْتَفِكَةَ أَهْوَىٰ
53:53play_arrow
Wal mu’tafikata ahwaa
Sahih International:
And the overturned towns He hurled down
فَغَشَّىٰهَا مَا غَشَّىٰ
53:54play_arrow
Faghashshaahaa maa ghashshaa
Sahih International:
And covered them by that which He covered.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكَ تَتَمَارَىٰ
53:55play_arrow
Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbika tatamaaraa
Sahih International:
Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt?
هَـٰذَا نَذِيرٌۭ مِّنَ ٱلنُّذُرِ ٱلْأُولَىٰٓ
53:56play_arrow
Haazaa nazeerum minan nuzuril oolaa
Sahih International:
This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners.
أَزِفَتِ ٱلْـَٔازِفَةُ
53:57play_arrow
Azifatil aazifah
Sahih International:
The Approaching Day has approached.
لَيْسَ لَهَا مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ كَاشِفَةٌ
53:58play_arrow
Laisa lahaa min doonil laahi kaashifah
Sahih International:
Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover.
أَفَمِنْ هَـٰذَا ٱلْحَدِيثِ تَعْجَبُونَ
53:59play_arrow
Afamin hazal hadeesi ta’jaboon
Sahih International:
Then at this statement do you wonder?
وَتَضْحَكُونَ وَلَا تَبْكُونَ
53:60play_arrow
Wa tadhakoona wa laa tabkoon
Sahih International:
And you laugh and do not weep
وَأَنتُمْ سَـٰمِدُونَ
53:61play_arrow
Wa antum saamidoon
Sahih International:
While you are proudly sporting?
فَٱسْجُدُوا۟ لِلَّهِ وَٱعْبُدُوا۟
53:62play_arrow
Fasjudoo lillaahi wa’budoo (make sajda)
Sahih International:
So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him].
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
54:0play_arrow
Bismillah hir rahman nir raheem
Sahih International:
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
ٱقْتَرَبَتِ ٱلسَّاعَةُ وَٱنشَقَّ ٱلْقَمَرُ
54:1play_arrow
Iqtarabatis Saa’atu wan shaqqal qamar
Sahih International:
The Hour has come near, and the moon has split [in two].
وَإِن يَرَوْا۟ ءَايَةًۭ يُعْرِضُوا۟ وَيَقُولُوا۟ سِحْرٌۭ مُّسْتَمِرٌّۭ
54:2play_arrow
Wa iny yaraw aayatany yu’ridoo wa yaqooloo sihrun mustamirr
Sahih International:
And if they see a miracle, they turn away and say, “Passing magic.”
وَكَذَّبُوا۟ وَٱتَّبَعُوٓا۟ أَهْوَآءَهُمْ ۚ وَكُلُّ أَمْرٍۢ مُّسْتَقِرٌّۭ
54:3play_arrow
Wa kazzaboo wattaba’ooo ahwaaa’ahum; wa kullu amrin mustaqirr
Sahih International:
And they denied and followed their inclinations. But for every matter is a [time of] settlement.
وَلَقَدْ جَآءَهُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَنۢبَآءِ مَا فِيهِ مُزْدَجَرٌ
54:4play_arrow
Wa laqad jaaa’ahum minal anbaaa’i maa feehi muzdajar
Sahih International:
And there has already come to them of information that in which there is deterrence –
حِكْمَةٌۢ بَـٰلِغَةٌۭ ۖ فَمَا تُغْنِ ٱلنُّذُرُ
54:5play_arrow
Hikmatun baalighatun famaa tughnin nuzur
Sahih International:
Extensive wisdom – but warning does not avail [them].
فَتَوَلَّ عَنْهُمْ ۘ يَوْمَ يَدْعُ ٱلدَّاعِ إِلَىٰ شَىْءٍۢ نُّكُرٍ
54:6play_arrow
Fatawalla ‘anhum; yawma yad’ud daa’i ilaa shai ‘in nukur
Sahih International:
So leave them, [O Muhammad]. The Day the Caller calls to something forbidding,
خُشَّعًا أَبْصَـٰرُهُمْ يَخْرُجُونَ مِنَ ٱلْأَجْدَاثِ كَأَنَّهُمْ جَرَادٌۭ مُّنتَشِرٌۭ
54:7play_arrow
Khushsha’an absaaruhum yakhrujoona minal ajdaasi ka annahum jaraadum muntashir
Sahih International:
Their eyes humbled, they will emerge from the graves as if they were locusts spreading,
مُّهْطِعِينَ إِلَى ٱلدَّاعِ ۖ يَقُولُ ٱلْكَـٰفِرُونَ هَـٰذَا يَوْمٌ عَسِرٌۭ
54:8play_arrow
Muhti’eena ilad daa’i yaqoolul kaafiroona haazaa yawmun ‘asir
Sahih International:
Racing ahead toward the Caller. The disbelievers will say, “This is a difficult Day.”
كَذَّبَتْ قَبْلَهُمْ قَوْمُ نُوحٍۢ فَكَذَّبُوا۟ عَبْدَنَا وَقَالُوا۟ مَجْنُونٌۭ وَٱزْدُجِرَ
54:9play_arrow
Kazzabat qablahum qawmu Noohin fakazzaboo ‘abdanaa wa qaaloo majnoonunw wazdujir
Sahih International:
The people of Noah denied before them, and they denied Our servant and said, “A madman,” and he was repelled.
فَدَعَا رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنِّى مَغْلُوبٌۭ فَٱنتَصِرْ
54:10play_arrow
Fada’aa Rabbahooo annee maghloobun fantasir
Sahih International:
So he invoked his Lord, “Indeed, I am overpowered, so help.”
فَفَتَحْنَآ أَبْوَٰبَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ بِمَآءٍۢ مُّنْهَمِرٍۢ
54:11play_arrow
Fafatahnaaa abwaabas samaaa’i bi maaa’in munhamir
Sahih International:
Then We opened the gates of the heaven with rain pouring down
وَفَجَّرْنَا ٱلْأَرْضَ عُيُونًۭا فَٱلْتَقَى ٱلْمَآءُ عَلَىٰٓ أَمْرٍۢ قَدْ قُدِرَ
54:12play_arrow
Wa fajjarnal arda ‘uyoonan faltaqal maaa’u ‘alaaa amrin qad qudir
Sahih International:
And caused the earth to burst with springs, and the waters met for a matter already predestined.
وَحَمَلْنَـٰهُ عَلَىٰ ذَاتِ أَلْوَٰحٍۢ وَدُسُرٍۢ
54:13play_arrow
Wa hamalnaahu ‘alaa zaati alwaahinw wa dusur
Sahih International:
And We carried him on a [construction of] planks and nails,
تَجْرِى بِأَعْيُنِنَا جَزَآءًۭ لِّمَن كَانَ كُفِرَ
54:14play_arrow
Tajree bi a’yuninaa jazaaa’an liman kaana kufir
Sahih International:
Sailing under Our observation as reward for he who had been denied.
وَلَقَد تَّرَكْنَـٰهَآ ءَايَةًۭ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍۢ
54:15play_arrow
Wa laqat taraknaahaa aayatan fahal min muddakir
Sahih International:
And We left it as a sign, so is there any who will remember?
فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ
54:16play_arrow
Fakaifa kaana ‘azaabee wa nuzur
Sahih International:
And how [severe] were My punishment and warning.
وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍۢ
54:17play_arrow
Wa laqad yassarnal Qur’aana liz zikri fahal min muddakir
Sahih International:
And We have certainly made the Qur’an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember?
كَذَّبَتْ عَادٌۭ فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ
54:18play_arrow
Kazzabat ‘Aadun fakaifa kaana ‘azaabee wa nuzur
Sahih International:
‘Aad denied; and how [severe] were My punishment and warning.
إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ رِيحًۭا صَرْصَرًۭا فِى يَوْمِ نَحْسٍۢ مُّسْتَمِرٍّۢ
54:19play_arrow
Innaa arsalnaa ‘alaihim reehan sarsaran fee Yawmi nahsin mustamirr
Sahih International:
Indeed, We sent upon them a screaming wind on a day of continuous misfortune,
تَنزِعُ ٱلنَّاسَ كَأَنَّهُمْ أَعْجَازُ نَخْلٍۢ مُّنقَعِرٍۢ
54:20play_arrow
Tanzi’un naasa ka annahum a’jaazu nakhlin munqa’ir
Sahih International:
Extracting the people as if they were trunks of palm trees uprooted.
فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ
54:21play_arrow
Fakaifa kaana ‘azaabee wa nuzur
Sahih International:
And how [severe] were My punishment and warning.
وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍۢ
54:22play_arrow
Wa laqad yassarnal Qur’aana liz zikri fahal min muddakir
Sahih International:
And We have certainly made the Qur’an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember?
كَذَّبَتْ ثَمُودُ بِٱلنُّذُرِ
54:23play_arrow
Kazzabat Samoodu binnuzur
Sahih International:
Thamud denied the warning
فَقَالُوٓا۟ أَبَشَرًۭا مِّنَّا وَٰحِدًۭا نَّتَّبِعُهُۥٓ إِنَّآ إِذًۭا لَّفِى ضَلَـٰلٍۢ وَسُعُرٍ
54:24play_arrow
Faqaalooo a’ basharan minnaa waahidan nattabi’uhooo innaa izal lafee dalaalinw wa su’ur
Sahih International:
And said, “Is it one human being among us that we should follow? Indeed, we would then be in error and madness.
أَءُلْقِىَ ٱلذِّكْرُ عَلَيْهِ مِنۢ بَيْنِنَا بَلْ هُوَ كَذَّابٌ أَشِرٌۭ
54:25play_arrow
‘A ulqiyaz zikru ‘alaihi min baininaa bal huwa kazzaabun ashir
Sahih International:
Has the message been sent down upon him from among us? Rather, he is an insolent liar.”
سَيَعْلَمُونَ غَدًۭا مَّنِ ٱلْكَذَّابُ ٱلْأَشِرُ
54:26play_arrow
Sa-ya’lamoona ghadan manil kazzaabul ashir
Sahih International:
They will know tomorrow who is the insolent liar.
إِنَّا مُرْسِلُوا۟ ٱلنَّاقَةِ فِتْنَةًۭ لَّهُمْ فَٱرْتَقِبْهُمْ وَٱصْطَبِرْ
54:27play_arrow
Innaa mursilun naaqati fitnatan lahum fartaqibhum wastabir
Sahih International:
Indeed, We are sending the she-camel as trial for them, so watch them and be patient.
وَنَبِّئْهُمْ أَنَّ ٱلْمَآءَ قِسْمَةٌۢ بَيْنَهُمْ ۖ كُلُّ شِرْبٍۢ مُّحْتَضَرٌۭ
54:28play_arrow
Wa nabbi’hum annal maaa’a qismatun bainahum kullu shirbin muhtadar
Sahih International:
And inform them that the water is shared between them, each [day of] drink attended [by turn].
فَنَادَوْا۟ صَاحِبَهُمْ فَتَعَاطَىٰ فَعَقَرَ
54:29play_arrow
Fa naadaw saahibahum fa ta’aataa fa ‘aqar
Sahih International:
But they called their companion, and he dared and hamstrung [her].
فَكَيْفَ كَانَ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ
54:30play_arrow
Fakaifa kaana ‘azaabee wa nuzur
Sahih International:
And how [severe] were My punishment and warning.
إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ صَيْحَةًۭ وَٰحِدَةًۭ فَكَانُوا۟ كَهَشِيمِ ٱلْمُحْتَظِرِ
54:31play_arrow
Innaaa arsalnaa ‘alaihim saihatanw waahidatan fakaanoo kahasheemil muhtazir
Sahih International:
Indeed, We sent upon them one blast from the sky, and they became like the dry twig fragments of an [animal] pen.
وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍۢ
54:32play_arrow
Wa laqad yassarnal Qur’aana liz zikri fahal min muddakir
Sahih International:
And We have certainly made the Qur’an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember?
كَذَّبَتْ قَوْمُ لُوطٍۭ بِٱلنُّذُرِ
54:33play_arrow
Kazzabat qawmu lootin binnuzur
Sahih International:
The people of Lot denied the warning.
إِنَّآ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمْ حَاصِبًا إِلَّآ ءَالَ لُوطٍۢ ۖ نَّجَّيْنَـٰهُم بِسَحَرٍۢ
54:34play_arrow
Innaa arsalnaa ‘alaihim haasiban illaaa aala Lootin najjainaahum bisahar
Sahih International:
Indeed, We sent upon them a storm of stones, except the family of Lot – We saved them before dawn
نِّعْمَةًۭ مِّنْ عِندِنَا ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَجْزِى مَن شَكَرَ
54:35play_arrow
Ni’matan min ‘indinaa; kazaalika najzee man shakar
Sahih International:
As favor from us. Thus do We reward he who is grateful.
وَلَقَدْ أَنذَرَهُم بَطْشَتَنَا فَتَمَارَوْا۟ بِٱلنُّذُرِ
54:36play_arrow
Wa laqad anzarahum batshatanaa fatamaaraw binnuzur
Sahih International:
And he had already warned them of Our assault, but they disputed the warning.
وَلَقَدْ رَٰوَدُوهُ عَن ضَيْفِهِۦ فَطَمَسْنَآ أَعْيُنَهُمْ فَذُوقُوا۟ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ
54:37play_arrow
Wa laqad raawadoohu ‘andaifeehee fatamasnaaa a’yunahum fazooqoo ‘azaabee wa nuzur
Sahih International:
And they had demanded from him his guests, but We obliterated their eyes, [saying], “Taste My punishment and warning.”
وَلَقَدْ صَبَّحَهُم بُكْرَةً عَذَابٌۭ مُّسْتَقِرٌّۭ
54:38play_arrow
Wa laqad sabbahahum bukratan ‘azaabun mustaqirr
Sahih International:
And there came upon them by morning an abiding punishment.
فَذُوقُوا۟ عَذَابِى وَنُذُرِ
54:39play_arrow
Fazooqoo ‘azaabee wa nuzur
Sahih International:
So taste My punishment and warning.
وَلَقَدْ يَسَّرْنَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ لِلذِّكْرِ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍۢ
54:40play_arrow
Wa laqad yassarnal Qur’aana liz zikri fahal min muddakir
Sahih International:
And We have certainly made the Qur’an easy for remembrance, so is there any who will remember?
وَلَقَدْ جَآءَ ءَالَ فِرْعَوْنَ ٱلنُّذُرُ
54:41play_arrow
Wa laqad jaaa’a Aala Fir’awnan nuzur
Sahih International:
And there certainly came to the people of Pharaoh warning.
كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا كُلِّهَا فَأَخَذْنَـٰهُمْ أَخْذَ عَزِيزٍۢ مُّقْتَدِرٍ
54:42play_arrow
Kazzaboo bi Aayaatinaa kullihaa fa akhaznaahum akhza ‘azeezim muqtadir
Sahih International:
They denied Our signs, all of them, so We seized them with a seizure of one Exalted in Might and Perfect in Ability.
أَكُفَّارُكُمْ خَيْرٌۭ مِّنْ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكُمْ أَمْ لَكُم بَرَآءَةٌۭ فِى ٱلزُّبُرِ
54:43play_arrow
‘A kuffaarukum khairun min ulaaa’ikum am lakum baraaa’atun fiz Zubur
Sahih International:
Are your disbelievers better than those [former ones], or have you immunity in the scripture?
أَمْ يَقُولُونَ نَحْنُ جَمِيعٌۭ مُّنتَصِرٌۭ
54:44play_arrow
Am yaqooloona nahnu jamee’un muntasir
Sahih International:
Or do they say, “We are an assembly supporting [each other]”?
سَيُهْزَمُ ٱلْجَمْعُ وَيُوَلُّونَ ٱلدُّبُرَ
54:45play_arrow
Sa yuhzamul jam’u wa yuwalloonad dubur
Sahih International:
[Their] assembly will be defeated, and they will turn their backs [in retreat].
بَلِ ٱلسَّاعَةُ مَوْعِدُهُمْ وَٱلسَّاعَةُ أَدْهَىٰ وَأَمَرُّ
54:46play_arrow
Balis Saa’atu maw’iduhum was Saa’atu adhaa wa amarr
Sahih International:
But the Hour is their appointment [for due punishment], and the Hour is more disastrous and more bitter.
إِنَّ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ فِى ضَلَـٰلٍۢ وَسُعُرٍۢ
54:47play_arrow
Innal mujrimeena fee dalaalinw wa su’ur
Sahih International:
Indeed, the criminals are in error and madness.
يَوْمَ يُسْحَبُونَ فِى ٱلنَّارِ عَلَىٰ وُجُوهِهِمْ ذُوقُوا۟ مَسَّ سَقَرَ
54:48play_arrow
Yawma yus-haboona fin Naari ‘alaa wujoohihim zooqoo massa saqar
Sahih International:
The Day they are dragged into the Fire on their faces [it will be said], “Taste the touch of Saqar.”
إِنَّا كُلَّ شَىْءٍ خَلَقْنَـٰهُ بِقَدَرٍۢ
54:49play_arrow
Innaa kulla shai’in khalaqnaahu bi qadar
Sahih International:
Indeed, all things We created with predestination.
وَمَآ أَمْرُنَآ إِلَّا وَٰحِدَةٌۭ كَلَمْحٍۭ بِٱلْبَصَرِ
54:50play_arrow
Wa maaa amrunaaa illaa waahidatun ka lamhin bil basar
Sahih International:
And Our command is but one, like a glance of the eye.
وَلَقَدْ أَهْلَكْنَآ أَشْيَاعَكُمْ فَهَلْ مِن مُّدَّكِرٍۢ
54:51play_arrow
Wa laqad ahlaknaaa ashyaa’akum fahal min muddakir
Sahih International:
And We have already destroyed your kinds, so is there any who will remember?
وَكُلُّ شَىْءٍۢ فَعَلُوهُ فِى ٱلزُّبُرِ
54:52play_arrow
Wa kullu shai’in fa’aloohu fiz Zubur
Sahih International:
And everything they did is in written records.
وَكُلُّ صَغِيرٍۢ وَكَبِيرٍۢ مُّسْتَطَرٌ
54:53play_arrow
Wa kullu sagheerinw wa kabeerin mustatar
Sahih International:
And every small and great [thing] is inscribed.
إِنَّ ٱلْمُتَّقِينَ فِى جَنَّـٰتٍۢ وَنَهَرٍۢ
54:54play_arrow
Innal muttaqeena fee jannaatinw wa nahar
Sahih International:
Indeed, the righteous will be among gardens and rivers,
فِى مَقْعَدِ صِدْقٍ عِندَ مَلِيكٍۢ مُّقْتَدِرٍۭ
54:55play_arrow
Fee maq’adi sidqin ‘inda Maleekin Muqtadir
Sahih International:
In a seat of honor near a Sovereign, Perfect in Ability.
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
55:0play_arrow
Bismillah hir rahman nir raheem
Sahih International:
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ
55:1play_arrow
Ar Rahmaan
Sahih International:
The Most Merciful
عَلَّمَ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ
55:2play_arrow
‘Allamal Quran
Sahih International:
Taught the Qur’an,
خَلَقَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ
55:3play_arrow
Khalaqal insaan
Sahih International:
Created man,
عَلَّمَهُ ٱلْبَيَانَ
55:4play_arrow
‘Allamahul bayaan
Sahih International:
[And] taught him eloquence.
ٱلشَّمْسُ وَٱلْقَمَرُ بِحُسْبَانٍۢ
55:5play_arrow
Ashshamsu walqamaru bihusbaan
Sahih International:
The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation,
وَٱلنَّجْمُ وَٱلشَّجَرُ يَسْجُدَانِ
55:6play_arrow
Wannajmu washshajaru yasjudan
Sahih International:
And the stars and trees prostrate.
وَٱلسَّمَآءَ رَفَعَهَا وَوَضَعَ ٱلْمِيزَانَ
55:7play_arrow
Wassamaaa’a rafa’ahaa wa wada’al Meezan
Sahih International:
And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance
أَلَّا تَطْغَوْا۟ فِى ٱلْمِيزَانِ
55:8play_arrow
Allaa tatghaw fil meezaan
Sahih International:
That you not transgress within the balance.
وَأَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلْوَزْنَ بِٱلْقِسْطِ وَلَا تُخْسِرُوا۟ ٱلْمِيزَانَ
55:9play_arrow
Wa aqeemul wazna bilqisti wa laa tukhsirul meezaan
Sahih International:
And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance.
وَٱلْأَرْضَ وَضَعَهَا لِلْأَنَامِ
55:10play_arrow
Wal arda wada’ahaa lilanaam
Sahih International:
And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures.
فِيهَا فَـٰكِهَةٌۭ وَٱلنَّخْلُ ذَاتُ ٱلْأَكْمَامِ

Feehaa faakihatunw wan nakhlu zaatul akmaam
Sahih International:
Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates]
وَٱلْحَبُّ ذُو ٱلْعَصْفِ وَٱلرَّيْحَانُ

Walhabbu zul ‘asfi war Raihaan
Sahih International:
And grain having husks and scented plants.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan
Sahih International:
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
خَلَقَ ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مِن صَلْصَـٰلٍۢ كَٱلْفَخَّارِ

Khalaqal insaana min salsaalin kalfakhkhaar
Sahih International:
He created man from clay like [that of] pottery.
وَخَلَقَ ٱلْجَآنَّ مِن مَّارِجٍۢ مِّن نَّارٍۢ
55:15play_arrow
Wa khalaqal jaaan mim maarijim min naar
Sahih International:
And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan
Sahih International:
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
رَبُّ ٱلْمَشْرِقَيْنِ وَرَبُّ ٱلْمَغْرِبَيْنِ

Rabbul mashriqayni wa Rabbul maghribayn
Sahih International:
[He is] Lord of the two sunrises and Lord of the two sunsets.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan
Sahih International:
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
مَرَجَ ٱلْبَحْرَيْنِ يَلْتَقِيَانِ
55:19play_arrow
Marajal bahrayni yalta qiyaan
Sahih International:
He released the two seas, meeting [side by side];
بَيْنَهُمَا بَرْزَخٌۭ لَّا يَبْغِيَانِ
55:20play_arrow
Bainahumaa barzakhul laa yabghiyaan
Sahih International:
Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan
Sahih International:
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
يَخْرُجُ مِنْهُمَا ٱللُّؤْلُؤُ وَٱلْمَرْجَانُ

Yakhruju minhumal lu ‘lu u wal marjaan
Sahih International:
From both of them emerge pearl and coral.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan
Sahih International:
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
وَلَهُ ٱلْجَوَارِ ٱلْمُنشَـَٔاتُ فِى ٱلْبَحْرِ كَٱلْأَعْلَـٰمِ

Wa lahul jawaaril mun sha’aatu fil bahri kal a’laam
Sahih International:
And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Sahih International:
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
كُلُّ مَنْ عَلَيْهَا فَانٍۢ
55:26play_arrow
Kullu man ‘alaihaa faan
Sahih International:
Everyone upon the earth will perish,
وَيَبْقَىٰ وَجْهُ رَبِّكَ ذُو ٱلْجَلَـٰلِ وَٱلْإِكْرَامِ
55:27play_arrow
Wa yabqaa wajhu rabbika zul jalaali wal ikraam
Sahih International:
And there will remain the Face of your Lord, Owner of Majesty and Honor.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Sahih International:
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
يَسْـَٔلُهُۥ مَن فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ كُلَّ يَوْمٍ هُوَ فِى شَأْنٍۢ

Yas’aluhoo man fissamaawaati walard; kulla yawmin huwa fee shaan
Sahih International:
Whoever is within the heavens and earth asks Him; every day He is bringing about a matter.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Sahih International:
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
سَنَفْرُغُ لَكُمْ أَيُّهَ ٱلثَّقَلَانِ

Sanafrughu lakum ayyuhas saqalaan
Sahih International:
We will attend to you, O prominent beings.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Sahih International:
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
يَـٰمَعْشَرَ ٱلْجِنِّ وَٱلْإِنسِ إِنِ ٱسْتَطَعْتُمْ أَن تَنفُذُوا۟ مِنْ أَقْطَارِ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ فَٱنفُذُوا۟ ۚ لَا تَنفُذُونَ إِلَّا بِسُلْطَـٰنٍۢ

Yaa ma’sharal jinni wal insi inis tata’tum an tanfuzoo min aqtaaris samaawaati wal ardi fanfuzoo; laa tanfuzoona illaa bisultaan
Sahih International:
O company of jinn and mankind, if you are able to pass beyond the regions of the heavens and the earth, then pass. You will not pass except by authority [from Allah].
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Sahih International:
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
يُرْسَلُ عَلَيْكُمَا شُوَاظٌۭ مِّن نَّارٍۢ وَنُحَاسٌۭ فَلَا تَنتَصِرَانِ

Yursalu ‘alaikumaa shuwaazum min naarinw-wa nuhaasun falaa tantasiraan
Sahih International:
There will be sent upon you a flame of fire and smoke, and you will not defend yourselves.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Sahih International:
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
فَإِذَا ٱنشَقَّتِ ٱلسَّمَآءُ فَكَانَتْ وَرْدَةًۭ كَٱلدِّهَانِ

Fa-izan shaqqatis samaaa’u fakaanat wardatan kaddihaan
Sahih International:
And when the heaven is split open and becomes rose-colored like oil –
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Sahih International:
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? –
فَيَوْمَئِذٍۢ لَّا يُسْـَٔلُ عَن ذَنۢبِهِۦٓ إِنسٌۭ وَلَا جَآنٌّۭ

Fa-yawma’izil laa yus’alu ‘an zambiheee insunw wa laa jaann
Sahih International:
Then on that Day none will be asked about his sin among men or jinn.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Sahih International:
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
يُعْرَفُ ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ بِسِيمَـٰهُمْ فَيُؤْخَذُ بِٱلنَّوَٰصِى وَٱلْأَقْدَامِ

Yu’raful mujrimoona biseemaahum fa’yu’khazu binna waasi wal aqdaam
Sahih International:
The criminals will be known by their marks, and they will be seized by the forelocks and the feet.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Sahih International:
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
هَـٰذِهِۦ جَهَنَّمُ ٱلَّتِى يُكَذِّبُ بِهَا ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ

Haazihee jahannamul latee yukazzibu bihal mujrimoon
Sahih International:
This is Hell, which the criminals deny.
يَطُوفُونَ بَيْنَهَا وَبَيْنَ حَمِيمٍ ءَانٍۢ

Yatoofoona bainahaa wa baina hameemim aan
Sahih International:
They will go around between it and scalding water, heated [to the utmost degree].
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Sahih International:
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
وَلِمَنْ خَافَ مَقَامَ رَبِّهِۦ جَنَّتَانِ

Wa liman khaafa maqaama rabbihee jannataan
Sahih International:
But for he who has feared the position of his Lord are two gardens –
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Sahih International:
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? –
ذَوَاتَآ أَفْنَانٍۢ
55:48play_arrow
Zawaataaa afnaan
Sahih International:
Having [spreading] branches.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:49play_arrow
Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Sahih International:
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ تَجْرِيَانِ
55:50play_arrow
Feehimaa ‘aynaani tajriyaan
Sahih International:
In both of them are two springs, flowing.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:51play_arrow
Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Sahih International:
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
فِيهِمَا مِن كُلِّ فَـٰكِهَةٍۢ زَوْجَانِ

Feehimaa min kulli faakihatin zawjaan
Sahih International:
In both of them are of every fruit, two kinds.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Sahih International:
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
مُتَّكِـِٔينَ عَلَىٰ فُرُشٍۭ بَطَآئِنُهَا مِنْ إِسْتَبْرَقٍۢ ۚ وَجَنَى ٱلْجَنَّتَيْنِ دَانٍۢ

Muttaki’eena ‘alaa furushim bataaa’inuhaa min istabraq; wajanal jannataini daan
Sahih International:
[They are] reclining on beds whose linings are of silk brocade, and the fruit of the two gardens is hanging low.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Sahih International:
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
فِيهِنَّ قَـٰصِرَٰتُ ٱلطَّرْفِ لَمْ يَطْمِثْهُنَّ إِنسٌۭ قَبْلَهُمْ وَلَا جَآنٌّۭ

Feehinna qaasiratut tarfi lam yatmishunna insun qablahum wa laa jaaann
Sahih International:
In them are women limiting [their] glances, untouched before them by man or jinni –
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Sahih International:
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? –
كَأَنَّهُنَّ ٱلْيَاقُوتُ وَٱلْمَرْجَانُ

Ka annahunnal yaaqootu wal marjaan
Sahih International:
As if they were rubies and coral.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Sahih International:
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
هَلْ جَزَآءُ ٱلْإِحْسَـٰنِ إِلَّا ٱلْإِحْسَـٰنُ

Hal jazaaa’ul ihsaani illal ihsaan
Sahih International:
Is the reward for good [anything] but good?
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:61play_arrow
Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Sahih International:
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
وَمِن دُونِهِمَا جَنَّتَانِ
55:62play_arrow
Wa min doonihimaa jannataan
Sahih International:
And below them both [in excellence] are two [other] gardens –
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:63play_arrow
Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Sahih International:
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? –
مُدْهَآمَّتَانِ

Mudhaaammataan
Sahih International:
Dark green [in color].
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:65play_arrow
Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Sahih International:
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
فِيهِمَا عَيْنَانِ نَضَّاخَتَانِ

Feehimaa ‘aynaani nad daakhataan
Sahih International:
In both of them are two springs, spouting.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ
55:67play_arrow
Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Sahih International:
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
فِيهِمَا فَـٰكِهَةٌۭ وَنَخْلٌۭ وَرُمَّانٌۭ

Feehimaa faakihatunw wa nakhlunw wa rummaan
Sahih International:
In both of them are fruit and palm trees and pomegranates.
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.
Sahih International:
So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny?
فِيهِنَّ خَيْرَٰتٌ حِسَانٌۭ

Feehinna khairaatun hisaan
Sahih International:
In them are good and beautiful women –
فَبِأَىِّ ءَالَآءِ رَبِّكُمَا تُكَذِّبَانِ

Fabi ayyi aalaaa’i Rabbikumaa tukazzibaan.

So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? –
