Fazkurooneee azkurkum washkuroo lee wa laa takfuroon
(section 18)
So remember Me; I will remember you. And be grateful to Me and
do not deny Me.
Qur'an verses on the remembrance of Allah
فَإِذَا قَضَيۡتُم
مَّنَٰسِكَكُمۡ فَٱذۡكُرُواْ ٱللَّهَ كَذِكۡرِكُمۡ ءَابَآءَكُمۡ أَوۡ أَشَدَّ ذِكۡرٗاۗ فَمِنَ ٱلنَّاسِ مَن يَقُولُ رَبَّنَآ ءَاتِنَا فِي ٱلدُّنۡيَا وَمَا لَهُۥ فِي ٱلۡأٓخِرَةِ مِنۡ خَلَٰقٖ
Fa-iza qadaitum manaa sikakum fazkurul laaha kazikrikum
aabaaa'akum aw ashadda zikraa; faminannaasi mai yaqoolu Rabbanaaa aatinaa fiddunyaa wa maa
lahoo fil Aakhirati min khalaaq
And when you have completed your rites, remember Allah like your
[previous] remembrance of your fathers or with [much] greater remembrance. And among the
people is he who says, "Our Lord, give us in this world," and he will have in the
Hereafter no share.
۞وَٱذۡكُرُواْ ٱللَّهَ فِيٓ أَيَّامٖ مَّعۡدُودَٰتٖۚ فَمَن تَعَجَّلَ فِي يَوۡمَيۡنِ فَلَآ إِثۡمَ عَلَيۡهِ وَمَن تَأَخَّرَ فَلَآ إِثۡمَ عَلَيۡهِۖ لِمَنِ ٱتَّقَىٰۗ وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ أَنَّكُمۡ إِلَيۡهِ تُحۡشَرُونَ
Wazkurul laaha feee ayyaamin ma'doodaatin; faman ta'ajjala
fee yawmaini falaaa ismaa 'alaihi wa man ta akhara falaaa isma 'alayhi; limanit-taqaa;
wattaqul laaha wa'lamooo annakum ilaihi tuhsharoon
And remember Allah during [specific] numbered days. Then whoever
hastens [his departure] in two days - there is no sin upon him; and whoever delays [until
the third] - there is no sin upon him - for him who fears Allah. And fear Allah and know
that unto Him you will be gathered.
وَإِذَا طَلَّقۡتُمُ ٱلنِّسَآءَ فَبَلَغۡنَ
أَجَلَهُنَّ فَأَمۡسِكُوهُنَّ بِمَعۡرُوفٍ أَوۡ سَرِّحُوهُنَّ بِمَعۡرُوفٖۚ وَلَا تُمۡسِكُوهُنَّ
ضِرَارٗا
لِّتَعۡتَدُواْۚ وَمَن يَفۡعَلۡ ذَٰلِكَ فَقَدۡ ظَلَمَ نَفۡسَهُۥۚ وَلَا تَتَّخِذُوٓاْ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ هُزُوٗاۚ وَٱذۡكُرُواْ نِعۡمَتَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيۡكُمۡ وَمَآ أَنزَلَ عَلَيۡكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ وَٱلۡحِكۡمَةِ يَعِظُكُم بِهِۦۚ وَٱتَّقُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَٱعۡلَمُوٓاْ أَنَّ ٱللَّهَ بِكُلِّ شَيۡءٍ عَلِيمٞ
Wa izaa tallaqtumun nisaaa'a fabalaghna ajala hunna fa
amsikoohunna bima'roofin law sarrihoo hunna bima'roof; wa laa tumsikoo hunna diraa
rallita'tadoo; wa mai yaf'al zaalika faqad zalama nafsah; wa laa tattakhizooo aayaatillaahi
huzuwaa; wazkuroo ni'matal laahi 'alaikum wa maaa anzala 'alaikum minal kitaabi wal hikmati
ya'izukum bih; wattaqul laaha wa'lamooo annal laaha bikulli shai'in 'Aleem (section 29)
And when you divorce women and they have [nearly] fulfilled
their term, either retain them according to acceptable terms or release them according to
acceptable terms, and do not keep them, intending harm, to transgress [against them]. And
whoever does that has certainly wronged himself. And do not take the verses of Allah in
jest. And remember the favor of Allah upon you and what has been revealed to you of the Book
and wisdom by which He instructs you. And fear Allah and know that Allah is Knowing of all
things.
فَإِنۡ خِفۡتُمۡ فَرِجَالًا
أَوۡ رُكۡبَانٗاۖ فَإِذَآ أَمِنتُمۡ فَٱذۡكُرُواْ
ٱللَّهَ كَمَا عَلَّمَكُم مَّا لَمۡ تَكُونُواْ تَعۡلَمُونَ
Fa in khiftum farijaalan aw rukbaanan fa izaaa amintum
fazkurul laaha kamaa 'allamakum maa lam takoonoo ta'lamoon
And if you fear [an enemy, then pray] on foot or riding. But
when you are secure, then remember Allah [in prayer], as He has taught you that which you
did not [previously] know.
قَالَ رَبِّ ٱجۡعَل لِّيٓ ءَايَةٗۖ قَالَ ءَايَتُكَ أَلَّا تُكَلِّمَ ٱلنَّاسَ ثَلَٰثَةَ أَيَّامٍ إِلَّا رَمۡزٗاۗ وَٱذۡكُر رَّبَّكَ كَثِيرٗا
وَسَبِّحۡ
بِٱلۡعَشِيِّ وَٱلۡإِبۡكَٰرِ
Qaala Rabbij 'al leee Aayatan qaala Aaayatuka allaa
tukalliman naasa salaasata ayyaamin illa ramzaa; wazkur Rabbaka kaseeranw wa sabbih
bil'ashiyyi wal ibkaar (section 4)
He said, "My Lord, make for me a sign." He Said,
"Your sign is that you will not [be able to] speak to the people for three days except
by gesture. And remember your Lord much and exalt [Him with praise] in the evening and the
morning."
وَٱعۡتَصِمُواْ بِحَبۡلِ ٱللَّهِ جَمِيعٗا وَلَا تَفَرَّقُواْۚ وَٱذۡكُرُواْ نِعۡمَتَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيۡكُمۡ إِذۡ كُنتُمۡ أَعۡدَآءٗ فَأَلَّفَ بَيۡنَ قُلُوبِكُمۡ فَأَصۡبَحۡتُم بِنِعۡمَتِهِۦٓ إِخۡوَٰنٗا وَكُنتُمۡ عَلَىٰ شَفَا حُفۡرَةٖ مِّنَ ٱلنَّارِ
فَأَنقَذَكُم
مِّنۡهَاۗ
كَذَٰلِكَ
يُبَيِّنُ
ٱللَّهُ
لَكُمۡ
ءَايَٰتِهِۦ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تَهۡتَدُونَ
Wa'tasimoo bi Hablil laahi jamee'anw wa laa tafarraqoo;
wazkuroo ni'matal laahi alaikum iz kuntum a'daaa'an fa allafa baina quloobikum fa asbah tum
bini'matiheee ikhwaananw wa kuntum 'alaa shafaa hufratim minan Naari fa anqazakum minhaa;
kazaalika yubaiyinul laahu lakum aayaatihee la'allakum tahtadoon
And hold firmly to the rope of Allah all together and do not
become divided. And remember the favor of Allah upon you - when you were enemies and He
brought your hearts together and you became, by His favor, brothers. And you were on the
edge of a pit of the Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus does Allah make clear to you His
verses that you may be guided.
وَٱلَّذِينَ إِذَا فَعَلُواْ فَٰحِشَةً أَوۡ ظَلَمُوٓاْ أَنفُسَهُمۡ ذَكَرُواْ ٱللَّهَ فَٱسۡتَغۡفَرُواْ
لِذُنُوبِهِمۡ
وَمَن
يَغۡفِرُ
ٱلذُّنُوبَ
إِلَّا
ٱللَّهُ
وَلَمۡ
يُصِرُّواْ
عَلَىٰ
مَا
فَعَلُواْ
وَهُمۡ
يَعۡلَمُونَ
Wallazeena izaa fa'aloo faahishatan aw zalamooo anfusahum
zakarul laaha fastaghfaroo lizunoobihim; wa mai yaghfiruz zunooba illal laahu wa lam
yusirroo 'alaa maa fa'aloo wa hum ya'lamoon
And those who, when they commit an immorality or wrong
themselves [by transgression], remember Allah and seek forgiveness for their sins - and who
can forgive sins except Allah? - and [who] do not persist in what they have done while they
know.
ٱلَّذِينَ يَذۡكُرُونَ ٱللَّهَ قِيَٰمٗا وَقُعُودٗا وَعَلَىٰ جُنُوبِهِمۡ
وَيَتَفَكَّرُونَ
فِي
خَلۡقِ
ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ رَبَّنَا مَا خَلَقۡتَ هَٰذَا بَٰطِلٗا سُبۡحَٰنَكَ فَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ
Allazeena yazkuroonal laaha qiyaamanw-wa qu'oodanw-wa 'alaa
juno obihim wa yatafakkaroona fee khalqis samaawaati wal ardi Rabbanaa maa khalaqta haaza
baatilan Subhaanaka faqinaa 'azaaban Naar
Who remember Allah while standing or sitting or [lying] on their
sides and give thought to the creation of the heavens and the earth, [saying], "Our
Lord, You did not create this aimlessly; exalted are You [above such a thing]; then protect
us from the punishment of the Fire.
فَإِذَا
قَضَيۡتُمُ
ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
فَٱذۡكُرُواْ
ٱللَّهَ
قِيَٰمٗا
وَقُعُودٗا
وَعَلَىٰ
جُنُوبِكُمۡۚ
فَإِذَا
ٱطۡمَأۡنَنتُمۡ فَأَقِيمُواْ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَۚ إِنَّ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ كَانَتۡ عَلَى ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ كِتَٰبٗا مَّوۡقُوتٗا
Fa izaa qadaitumus Salaata fazkurul laaha qiyaamanw wa
qu'oodanw wa 'alaa junoobikum; fa izatma'nantum fa aqeemus Salaah; innas Salaata kaanat
'alal mu'mineena kitaabam mawqootaa
And when you have completed the prayer, remember Allah standing,
sitting, or [lying] on your sides. But when you become secure, re-establish [regular]
prayer. Indeed, prayer has been decreed upon the believers a decree of specified times.
إِنَّ
ٱلۡمُنَٰفِقِينَ يُخَٰدِعُونَ ٱللَّهَ وَهُوَ خَٰدِعُهُمۡ وَإِذَا قَامُوٓاْ إِلَى ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ قَامُواْ كُسَالَىٰ يُرَآءُونَ ٱلنَّاسَ وَلَا يَذۡكُرُونَ ٱللَّهَ إِلَّا قَلِيلٗا
Innal munaafiqeena yukhaadi'oonal laaha wa huwa khaadi'uhum
wa izaa qaamooo ilas Salaati qaamoo kusaalaa yuraaa'oonan naasa wa laa yazkuroonal laaha
illaa qaleelaa
Indeed, the hypocrites [think to] deceive Allah, but He is
deceiving them. And when they stand for prayer, they stand lazily, showing [themselves to]
the people and not remembering Allah except a little,
وَٱذۡكُرُواْ نِعۡمَةَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيۡكُمۡ
وَمِيثَٰقَهُ
ٱلَّذِي
وَاثَقَكُم
بِهِۦٓ
إِذۡ
قُلۡتُمۡ
سَمِعۡنَا
وَأَطَعۡنَاۖ
وَٱتَّقُواْ
ٱللَّهَۚ
إِنَّ
ٱللَّهَ
عَلِيمُۢ
بِذَاتِ ٱلصُّدُورِ
Wazkuroo ni'matal laahi 'alaikum wa meesaaqahul lazee
waasaqakum biheee iz qultum sami'naa wa ata'naa wattaqul laah; innal laaha 'aleemum bizaatis
sudoor
And remember the favor of Allah upon you and His covenant with
which He bound you when you said, "We hear and we obey"; and fear Allah. Indeed,
Allah is Knowing of that within the breasts.
وَإِذۡ قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوۡمِهِۦ يَٰقَوۡمِ ٱذۡكُرُواْ نِعۡمَةَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيۡكُمۡ إِذۡ جَعَلَ فِيكُمۡ أَنۢبِيَآءَ وَجَعَلَكُم مُّلُوكٗا وَءَاتَىٰكُم مَّا لَمۡ يُؤۡتِ أَحَدٗا مِّنَ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
Wa iz qaala Moosaa liqawmihee yaa qawmiz kuroo ni'matal
laahi 'alaikum iz ja'ala feekum ambiyaaa'a wa ja'alakum mulookanw wa aataakum maa lam yu'ti
ahadam minal 'aalameen
And [mention, O Muhammad], when Moses said to his people,
"O my people, remember the favor of Allah upon you when He appointed among you prophets
and made you possessors and gave you that which He had not given anyone among the worlds.
إِنَّمَا يُرِيدُ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ أَن يُوقِعَ بَيۡنَكُمُ ٱلۡعَدَٰوَةَ وَٱلۡبَغۡضَآءَ فِي ٱلۡخَمۡرِ
وَٱلۡمَيۡسِرِ وَيَصُدَّكُمۡ عَن ذِكۡرِ ٱللَّهِ وَعَنِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِۖ فَهَلۡ أَنتُم مُّنتَهُونَ
Innamaa yureedush Shaitaanu ai yooqi'a bainakumul 'adaawata
wal baghdaaa'a fil khamri wal maisiri wa yasuddakum 'an zikril laahi wa 'anis Salaati fahal
antum muntahoon
Satan only wants to cause between you animosity and hatred
through intoxicants and gambling and to avert you from the remembrance of Allah and from
prayer. So will you not desist?
أَوَعَجِبۡتُمۡ
أَن
جَآءَكُمۡ
ذِكۡرٞ
مِّن
رَّبِّكُمۡ
عَلَىٰ
رَجُلٖ
مِّنكُمۡ لِيُنذِرَكُمۡۚ وَٱذۡكُرُوٓاْ إِذۡ جَعَلَكُمۡ خُلَفَآءَ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ قَوۡمِ نُوحٖ وَزَادَكُمۡ فِي ٱلۡخَلۡقِ بَصۜۡطَةٗۖ فَٱذۡكُرُوٓاْ ءَالَآءَ ٱللَّهِ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تُفۡلِحُونَ
Awa 'ajibtum an jaaa'akum zikrum mir Rabbikum 'alaa rajulim
minkum liyunzirakum; wazkurooo iz ja'alakum khulafaaa'a mim ba'di qawmi noohinw wa zaadakum
filkhalqi bastatan fazkurooo aalaaa'al laahi la'allakum tuflihoon
Then do you wonder that there has come to you a reminder from
your Lord through a man from among you, that he may warn you? And remember when He made you
successors after the people of Noah and increased you in stature extensively. So remember
the favors of Allah that you might succeed.
وَٱذۡكُرُوٓاْ
إِذۡ
جَعَلَكُمۡ
خُلَفَآءَ
مِنۢ
بَعۡدِ
عَادٖ
وَبَوَّأَكُمۡ
فِي
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
تَتَّخِذُونَ
مِن
سُهُولِهَا
قُصُورٗا وَتَنۡحِتُونَ ٱلۡجِبَالَ بُيُوتٗاۖ فَٱذۡكُرُوٓاْ ءَالَآءَ ٱللَّهِ وَلَا تَعۡثَوۡاْ فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ مُفۡسِدِينَ
Wazkuroo iz ja'alakum khulafaaa'a mim ba'di 'Aadinw wa bawwa
akum fil ardi tattakhizoona min suhoolihaa qusooranw wa tanhitoonal jibaala buyootan
fazkurooo aalaaa'al laahi wa laa ta'saw fil ardi mufsideen
And remember when He made you successors after the 'Aad and
settled you in the land, [and] you take for yourselves palaces from its plains and carve
from the mountains, homes. Then remember the favors of Allah and do not commit abuse on the
earth, spreading corruption."
وَٱذۡكُر رَّبَّكَ فِي نَفۡسِكَ تَضَرُّعٗا وَخِيفَةٗ وَدُونَ ٱلۡجَهۡرِ مِنَ ٱلۡقَوۡلِ بِٱلۡغُدُوِّ وَٱلۡأٓصَالِ وَلَا تَكُن مِّنَ ٱلۡغَٰفِلِينَ
Wazkur Rabbaka fee nafsika tadarru'anw wa kheefatanw wa
doonal jahri minal qawli bilghuduwwi wal aasali wa laa takum minal ghaafileen
And remember your Lord within yourself in humility and in fear
without being apparent in speech - in the mornings and the evenings. And do not be among the
heedless.
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ إِذَا لَقِيتُمۡ فِئَةٗ فَٱثۡبُتُواْ
وَٱذۡكُرُواْ
ٱللَّهَ
كَثِيرٗا
لَّعَلَّكُمۡ تُفۡلِحُونَ
Yaaa aiyuhal lazeena aamanooo izaa laqeetum fi'atan fasbutoo
wazkurul laaha kaseeral la'allakum tuflihoon
O you who have believed, when you encounter a company [from the
enemy forces], stand firm and remember Allah much that you may be successful.
ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ
وَتَطۡمَئِنُّ
قُلُوبُهُم بِذِكۡرِ ٱللَّهِۗ أَلَا بِذِكۡرِ ٱللَّهِ تَطۡمَئِنُّ ٱلۡقُلُوبُ
Allazeena aamanoo wa tatma'innu quloobuhum bizikril laah;
alaa bizikril laahi tatma'innul quloob
Those who have believed and whose hearts are assured by the
remembrance of Allah. Unquestionably, by the remembrance of Allah hearts are assured."
وَيَقُولُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ لَوۡلَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيۡهِ ءَايَةٞ مِّن رَّبِّهِۦۚ قُلۡ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يُضِلُّ مَن يَشَآءُ وَيَهۡدِيٓ إِلَيۡهِ مَنۡ أَنَابَ
Wa yaqoolul lazeena kafaroo law laaa unzila 'alaihi Aayatum
mir Rabbih; qul innal laaha yudillu mai yashaa'u wa yahdeee ilaihi man anaab
And those who disbelieved say, "Why has a sign not been
sent down to him from his Lord?" Say, [O Muhammad], "Indeed, Allah leaves astray
whom He wills and guides to Himself whoever turns back [to Him] -
ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ
وَتَطۡمَئِنُّ
قُلُوبُهُم بِذِكۡرِ ٱللَّهِۗ أَلَا بِذِكۡرِ ٱللَّهِ تَطۡمَئِنُّ ٱلۡقُلُوبُ
Allazeena aamanoo wa tatma'innu quloobuhum bizikril laah;
alaa bizikril laahi tatma'innul quloob
Those who have believed and whose hearts are assured by the
remembrance of Allah. Unquestionably, by the remembrance of Allah hearts are assured."
وَإِذۡ قَالَ مُوسَىٰ لِقَوۡمِهِ ٱذۡكُرُواْ نِعۡمَةَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيۡكُمۡ إِذۡ أَنجَىٰكُم مِّنۡ ءَالِ فِرۡعَوۡنَ يَسُومُونَكُمۡ سُوٓءَ ٱلۡعَذَابِ وَيُذَبِّحُونَ أَبۡنَآءَكُمۡ
وَيَسۡتَحۡيُونَ نِسَآءَكُمۡۚ وَفِي ذَٰلِكُم بَلَآءٞ مِّن رَّبِّكُمۡ عَظِيمٞ
Wa iz qaala Moosaa liqawmihiz kuroo ni'matal laahi 'alaikum
iz anjaakum min Aali Fir'awna yasoomoo nakum sooo'al 'azaabi wa yuzabbihoona abnaaa'akum wa
yastahyoona nisaaa'akum; wa fee zaalikum balaaa'un mir Rabbikum 'azeem (section 1)
And [recall, O Children of Israel], when Moses said to His
people, "Remember the favor of Allah upon you when He saved you from the people of
Pharaoh, who were afflicting you with the worst torment and were slaughtering your [newborn]
sons and keeping your females alive. And in that was a great trial from your Lord.
وَٱصۡبِرۡ نَفۡسَكَ مَعَ ٱلَّذِينَ يَدۡعُونَ رَبَّهُم بِٱلۡغَدَوٰةِ
وَٱلۡعَشِيِّ
يُرِيدُونَ
وَجۡهَهُۥۖ
وَلَا
تَعۡدُ
عَيۡنَاكَ
عَنۡهُمۡ
تُرِيدُ
زِينَةَ
ٱلۡحَيَوٰةِ ٱلدُّنۡيَاۖ وَلَا تُطِعۡ مَنۡ أَغۡفَلۡنَا قَلۡبَهُۥ عَن ذِكۡرِنَا وَٱتَّبَعَ هَوَىٰهُ وَكَانَ أَمۡرُهُۥ فُرُطٗا
Wasbir nafsaka ma'al lazeena yad'oona Rabbahum bilghadaati
wal'ashiyyi yureedoona Wajhahoo wa laa ta'du 'aynaaka 'anhum tureedu zeenatal hayaatid
dunyaa wa laa tuti' man aghfalnaa qalbahoo 'an zikrinaa wattaba'a hawaahu wa kaana amruhoo
furutaa
And keep yourself patient [by being] with those who call upon
their Lord in the morning and the evening, seeking His countenance. And let not your eyes
pass beyond them, desiring adornments of the worldly life, and do not obey one whose heart
We have made heedless of Our remembrance and who follows his desire and whose affair is ever
[in] neglect.
ٱلَّذِينَ كَانَتۡ أَعۡيُنُهُمۡ فِي غِطَآءٍ عَن ذِكۡرِي وَكَانُواْ لَا يَسۡتَطِيعُونَ سَمۡعًا
Allazeena kaanat a'yunuhum fee ghitaaa'in 'an zikree wa
kaanoo laa yastatee'oona sam'aa (section 11)
Those whose eyes had been within a cover [removed] from My
remembrance, and they were not able to hear.
وَلَا تَقُولَنَّ لِشَاْيۡءٍ إِنِّي فَاعِلٞ ذَٰلِكَ غَدًا
Wa laa taqoolanna lishai'in innee faa'ilun zaalika ghadaa
And never say of anything, "Indeed, I will do that
tomorrow,"
إِلَّآ أَن يَشَآءَ ٱللَّهُۚ وَٱذۡكُر رَّبَّكَ إِذَا نَسِيتَ وَقُلۡ عَسَىٰٓ أَن يَهۡدِيَنِ رَبِّي لِأَقۡرَبَ مِنۡ هَٰذَا رَشَدٗا
Illaaa any yashaaa'al laah; wazkur Rabbaka izaa naseeta wa
qul 'asaaa any yahdiyani Rabbee li aqraba min haazaa rashadaa
Except [when adding], "If Allah wills." And remember
your Lord when you forget [it] and say, "Perhaps my Lord will guide me to what is
nearer than this to right conduct."
إِنَّنِيٓ أَنَا ٱللَّهُ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنَا۠ فَٱعۡبُدۡنِي وَأَقِمِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ
لِذِكۡرِيٓ
Innaneee Anal laahu laaa ilaaha illaa Ana fa'budnee wa
aqimis-salaata lizikree
Indeed, I am Allah. There is no deity except Me, so worship Me
and establish prayer for My remembrance.
ٱذۡهَبۡ أَنتَ وَأَخُوكَ بِـَٔايَٰتِي وَلَا تَنِيَا فِي ذِكۡرِي
Izhab anta wa akhooka bi Aayaatee wa laa taniyaa fee zikree
Go, you and your brother, with My signs and do not slacken in My
remembrance.
وَمَنۡ أَعۡرَضَ عَن ذِكۡرِي فَإِنَّ لَهُۥ مَعِيشَةٗ ضَنكٗا وَنَحۡشُرُهُۥ يَوۡمَ
ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ
أَعۡمَىٰ
Wa man a'rada 'an Zikree fa inna lahoo ma'eeshatan dankanw
wa nahshuruhoo Yawmal Qiyaamati a'maa
And whoever turns away from My remembrance - indeed, he will
have a depressed life, and We will gather him on the Day of Resurrection blind."
قُلۡ مَن يَكۡلَؤُكُم بِٱلَّيۡلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ مِنَ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِۚ بَلۡ هُمۡ عَن ذِكۡرِ رَبِّهِم مُّعۡرِضُونَ
Qul mai yakla 'ukum billaili wannahaari minar Rahmaan; bal
hum 'an zikri Rabbihim mu'ridoon
Say, "Who can protect you at night or by day from the Most
Merciful?" But they are, from the remembrance of their Lord, turning away.
فَٱتَّخَذۡتُمُوهُمۡ سِخۡرِيًّا حَتَّىٰٓ أَنسَوۡكُمۡ ذِكۡرِي وَكُنتُم مِّنۡهُمۡ تَضۡحَكُونَ
Fattakhaztumoohum sikhriyyan hattaaa ansawkum zikree wa
kuntum minhum tadhakoon
But you took them in mockery to the point that they made you
forget My remembrance, and you used to laugh at them.
رِجَالٞ لَّا تُلۡهِيهِمۡ تِجَٰرَةٞ وَلَا بَيۡعٌ عَن ذِكۡرِ ٱللَّهِ وَإِقَامِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَإِيتَآءِ ٱلزَّكَوٰةِ يَخَافُونَ يَوۡمٗا
تَتَقَلَّبُ
فِيهِ
ٱلۡقُلُوبُ وَٱلۡأَبۡصَٰرُ
Rijaalul laa tulheehim tijaaratunw wa laa bai'un 'an zikril
laahi wa iqaamis Salaati wa eetaaa'iz Zakaati yakhaafoona Yawman tataqallabu feehil quloobu
wal absaar
[Are] men whom neither commerce nor sale distracts from the
remembrance of Allah and performance of prayer and giving of zakah. They fear a Day in which
the hearts and eyes will [fearfully] turn about -
أَلَمۡ تَرَ أَنَّهُمۡ فِي كُلِّ وَادٖ يَهِيمُونَ
Alam tara annahum fee kulli waadiny yaheemoon
Do you not see that in every valley they roam
وَأَنَّهُمۡ يَقُولُونَ مَا لَا يَفۡعَلُونَ
Wa annahum yaqooloona ma laa yaf'aloon
And that they say what they do not do? -
إِلَّا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ وَعَمِلُواْ
ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ وَذَكَرُواْ ٱللَّهَ كَثِيرٗا وَٱنتَصَرُواْ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ مَا ظُلِمُواْۗ وَسَيَعۡلَمُ ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوٓاْ أَيَّ مُنقَلَبٖ
يَنقَلِبُونَ
Illal lazeena aamanoo wa 'amilus saalihaati wa zakarul laaha
kaseeranw wantasaroo min ba'di maa zulimoo; wa saya'lamul lazeena zalamooo aiya munqalabiny
yanqaliboon (section 11)
Except those [poets] who believe and do righteous deeds and
remember Allah often and defend [the Muslims] after they were wronged. And those who have
wronged are going to know to what [kind of] return they will be returned.
ٱتۡلُ مَآ أُوحِيَ إِلَيۡكَ مِنَ ٱلۡكِتَٰبِ وَأَقِمِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَۖ إِنَّ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ تَنۡهَىٰ عَنِ ٱلۡفَحۡشَآءِ وَٱلۡمُنكَرِۗ
وَلَذِكۡرُ
ٱللَّهِ
أَكۡبَرُۗ
وَٱللَّهُ
يَعۡلَمُ
مَا
تَصۡنَعُونَ
Utlu maaa oohiya ilaika minal Kitaabi wa aqimis Salaata
innas Salaata tanhaa 'anil fahshaaa'i wal munkar; wa lazikrul laahi akbar; wal laahu ya'lamu
maa tasna'oon (End Juz 20)
Recite, [O Muhammad], what has been revealed to you of the Book
and establish prayer. Indeed, prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing, and the
remembrance of Allah is greater. And Allah knows that which you do.
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ ٱذۡكُرُواْ نِعۡمَةَ ٱللَّهِ عَلَيۡكُمۡ إِذۡ جَآءَتۡكُمۡ جُنُودٞ فَأَرۡسَلۡنَا عَلَيۡهِمۡ رِيحٗا وَجُنُودٗا لَّمۡ
تَرَوۡهَاۚ
وَكَانَ
ٱللَّهُ
بِمَا
تَعۡمَلُونَ
بَصِيرًا
Yaaa aiyuhal lazeena aamanuz kuroo ni'matal laahi 'alaikum
iz jaaa'atkum junoodun fa arsalnaa 'alaihim reehanw wa junoodal lam tarawhaa; wa kaanal
laahu bimaa ta'maloona Baseera
O you who have believed, remember the favor of Allah upon you
when armies came to [attack] you and We sent upon them a wind and armies [of angels] you did
not see. And ever is Allah, of what you do, Seeing.
لَّقَدۡ كَانَ لَكُمۡ فِي رَسُولِ ٱللَّهِ أُسۡوَةٌ حَسَنَةٞ لِّمَن كَانَ يَرۡجُواْ ٱللَّهَ وَٱلۡيَوۡمَ ٱلۡأٓخِرَ وَذَكَرَ ٱللَّهَ كَثِيرٗا
Laqad kaana lakum fee Rasoolil laahi uswatun hasanatul liman
kaana yarjul laaha wal yawmal Aakhira wa zakaral laaha kaseeraa
There has certainly been for you in the Messenger of Allah an
excellent pattern for anyone whose hope is in Allah and the Last Day and [who] remembers
Allah often.
وَٱذۡكُرۡنَ مَا يُتۡلَىٰ فِي بُيُوتِكُنَّ مِنۡ ءَايَٰتِ ٱللَّهِ وَٱلۡحِكۡمَةِۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ كَانَ لَطِيفًا خَبِيرًا
Wazkurna maa yutlaa fee bu yootikunna min aayaatil laahi wal
Hikmah; innal laaha kaana lateefan Khabeera (section 4)
And remember what is recited in your houses of the verses of
Allah and wisdom. Indeed, Allah is ever Subtle and Acquainted [with all things].
إِنَّ
ٱلۡمُسۡلِمِينَ وَٱلۡمُسۡلِمَٰتِ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ وَٱلۡمُؤۡمِنَٰتِ
وَٱلۡقَٰنِتِينَ وَٱلۡقَٰنِتَٰتِ وَٱلصَّـٰدِقِينَ وَٱلصَّـٰدِقَٰتِ
وَٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَ وَٱلصَّـٰبِرَٰتِ وَٱلۡخَٰشِعِينَ وَٱلۡخَٰشِعَٰتِ
وَٱلۡمُتَصَدِّقِينَ وَٱلۡمُتَصَدِّقَٰتِ وَٱلصَّـٰٓئِمِينَ
وَٱلصَّـٰٓئِمَٰتِ وَٱلۡحَٰفِظِينَ فُرُوجَهُمۡ
وَٱلۡحَٰفِظَٰتِ وَٱلذَّـٰكِرِينَ ٱللَّهَ كَثِيرٗا
وَٱلذَّـٰكِرَٰتِ أَعَدَّ ٱللَّهُ لَهُم مَّغۡفِرَةٗ وَأَجۡرًا عَظِيمٗا
Innal muslimeena wal muslimaati wal mu'mineena wal
mu'minaati walqaaniteena walqaanitaati wassaadiqeena wassaadiqaati wassaabireena
wassaabiraati walkhaashi'eena walkhaashi'aati walmutasaddiqeena walmutasaddiqaati
wassaaa'imeena wassaaa'imaati walhaafizeena furoojahum walhaafizaati waz zaakireenal laaha
kaseeranw waz zaakiraati a'addal laahu lahum maghfiratanw wa ajran 'azeemaa
Indeed, the Muslim men and Muslim women, the believing men and
believing women, the obedient men and obedient women, the truthful men and truthful women,
the patient men and patient women, the humble men and humble women, the charitable men and
charitable women, the fasting men and fasting women, the men who guard their private parts
and the women who do so, and the men who remember Allah often and the women who do so - for
them Allah has prepared forgiveness and a great reward.
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ ٱذۡكُرُواْ ٱللَّهَ ذِكۡرٗا كَثِيرٗا
Yaaa aiyuhal lazeena aamanuz kurul laaha zikran kaseera
O you who have believed, remember Allah with much remembrance
فَقَالَ إِنِّيٓ أَحۡبَبۡتُ حُبَّ ٱلۡخَيۡرِ عَن ذِكۡرِ رَبِّي حَتَّىٰ تَوَارَتۡ بِٱلۡحِجَابِ
Faqaala inneee ahbabtu hubbal khairi 'an zikri Rabbee hattaa
tawaarat bilhijaab
And he said, "Indeed, I gave preference to the love of good
[things] over the remembrance of my Lord until the sun disappeared into the curtain [of
darkness]."
إِنَّآ
أَخۡلَصۡنَٰهُم بِخَالِصَةٖ ذِكۡرَى ٱلدَّارِ
Innaaa akhlasnaahum bi khaalisatin zikrad daar
Indeed, We chose them for an exclusive quality: remembrance of
the home [of the Hereafter].
أَفَمَن
شَرَحَ
ٱللَّهُ
صَدۡرَهُۥ
لِلۡإِسۡلَٰمِ
فَهُوَ
عَلَىٰ
نُورٖ
مِّن
رَّبِّهِۦۚ
فَوَيۡلٞ لِّلۡقَٰسِيَةِ قُلُوبُهُم مِّن ذِكۡرِ ٱللَّهِۚ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ فِي ضَلَٰلٖ مُّبِينٍ
Afaman sharahal laahu sadrahoo lil Islaami fahuwa 'alaa
noorim mir Rabbih; fa wailul lilqaasiyati quloobuhum min zikril laah; ulaaa'ika fee dalaalim
mubeen
So is one whose breast Allah has expanded to [accept] Islam and
he is upon a light from his Lord [like one whose heart rejects it]? Then woe to those whose
hearts are hardened against the remembrance of Allah. Those are in manifest error.
ٱللَّهُ نَزَّلَ أَحۡسَنَ
ٱلۡحَدِيثِ
كِتَٰبٗا مُّتَشَٰبِهٗا مَّثَانِيَ تَقۡشَعِرُّ مِنۡهُ جُلُودُ ٱلَّذِينَ يَخۡشَوۡنَ رَبَّهُمۡ ثُمَّ تَلِينُ جُلُودُهُمۡ وَقُلُوبُهُمۡ إِلَىٰ ذِكۡرِ ٱللَّهِۚ ذَٰلِكَ هُدَى ٱللَّهِ يَهۡدِي بِهِۦ مَن يَشَآءُۚ وَمَن
يُضۡلِلِ ٱللَّهُ فَمَا لَهُۥ مِنۡ هَادٍ
Allahu nazzala ahsanal hadeesi Kitaabam mutashaa biham
masaaniy taqsha'irru minhu juloodul lazeena yakhshawna Rabbahum summa taleenu julooduhum wa
quloo buhum ilaa zikril laah; zaalika hudal laahi yahdee bihee mai yashaaa'; wa mai yudlilil
laahu famaa lahoo min haad
Allah has sent down the best statement: a consistent Book
wherein is reiteration. The skins shiver therefrom of those who fear their Lord; then their
skins and their hearts relax at the remembrance of Allah. That is the guidance of Allah by
which He guides whom He wills. And one whom Allah leaves astray - for him there is no guide.
وَمَن يَعۡشُ عَن ذِكۡرِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ نُقَيِّضۡ لَهُۥ شَيۡطَٰنٗا فَهُوَ لَهُۥ قَرِينٞ
Wa mai ya'shu 'an zikrir Rahmaani nuqaiyid lahoo Shaitaanan
fahuwa lahoo qareen
And whoever is blinded from remembrance of the Most Merciful -
We appoint for him a devil, and he is to him a companion.
وَٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ ٱلۡأَزۡوَٰجَ كُلَّهَا وَجَعَلَ لَكُم مِّنَ ٱلۡفُلۡكِ
وَٱلۡأَنۡعَٰمِ
مَا
تَرۡكَبُونَ
Wallazee khalaqal azwaaja kullahaa wa ja'ala lakum minal
fulki wal-an'aami maa tarkaboon
And who created the species, all of them, and has made for you
of ships and animals those which you mount.
لِتَسۡتَوُۥاْ
عَلَىٰ
ظُهُورِهِۦ
ثُمَّ
تَذۡكُرُواْ
نِعۡمَةَ
رَبِّكُمۡ
إِذَا
ٱسۡتَوَيۡتُمۡ
عَلَيۡهِ
وَتَقُولُواْ سُبۡحَٰنَ ٱلَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَٰذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُۥ مُقۡرِنِينَ
Litastawoo 'alaa zuhoorihee summa tazkuroo ni'mata Rabbikum
izastawaitum 'alaihi wa taqooloo Subhaanal lazee sakhkhara lana haaza wa maa kunnaa lahoo
muqrineen
That you may settle yourselves upon their backs and then
remember the favor of your Lord when you have settled upon them and say. "Exalted is He
who has subjected this to us, and we could not have [otherwise] subdued it.
فَأَعۡرِضۡ عَن مَّن تَوَلَّىٰ عَن ذِكۡرِنَا وَلَمۡ يُرِدۡ إِلَّا ٱلۡحَيَوٰةَ ٱلدُّنۡيَا
Fa a'rid 'am man tawallaa 'an zikrinaa wa lam yurid illal
hayaatad dunyaa
So turn away from whoever turns his back on Our message and
desires not except the worldly life.
۞أَلَمۡ يَأۡنِ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ أَن تَخۡشَعَ قُلُوبُهُمۡ لِذِكۡرِ
ٱللَّهِ
وَمَا
نَزَلَ
مِنَ
ٱلۡحَقِّ
وَلَا
يَكُونُواْ كَٱلَّذِينَ أُوتُواْ ٱلۡكِتَٰبَ مِن قَبۡلُ فَطَالَ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡأَمَدُ فَقَسَتۡ قُلُوبُهُمۡۖ وَكَثِيرٞ مِّنۡهُمۡ
فَٰسِقُونَ
Alam ya'ni lil lazeena aamanooo an takhsha'a quloobuhum
lizikril laahi wa maa nazala minal haqqi wa laa yakoonoo kallazeena ootul Kitaaba min qablu
fataala 'alaihimul amadu faqasat quloobuhum wa kaseerum minhum faasiqoon
Has the time not come for those who have believed that their
hearts should become humbly submissive at the remembrance of Allah and what has come down of
the truth? And let them not be like those who were given the Scripture before, and a long
period passed over them, so their hearts hardened; and many of them are defiantly
disobedient.
ٱسۡتَحۡوَذَ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ
فَأَنسَىٰهُمۡ ذِكۡرَ ٱللَّهِۚ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ حِزۡبُ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِۚ أَلَآ إِنَّ حِزۡبَ ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنِ هُمُ ٱلۡخَٰسِرُونَ
Istahwaza 'alaihimush shaitaanu fa ansaahum zikral laah;
ulaaa'ika hizbush shaitaaan; alaaa innaa hizbash shaitaani humul khaasiroon
Satan has overcome them and made them forget the remembrance of
Allah. Those are the party of Satan. Unquestionably, the party of Satan - they will be the
losers.
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓاْ إِذَا نُودِيَ
لِلصَّلَوٰةِ
مِن
يَوۡمِ
ٱلۡجُمُعَةِ
فَٱسۡعَوۡاْ
إِلَىٰ
ذِكۡرِ
ٱللَّهِ
وَذَرُواْ
ٱلۡبَيۡعَۚ
ذَٰلِكُمۡ
خَيۡرٞ
لَّكُمۡ
إِن
كُنتُمۡ
تَعۡلَمُونَ
Yaaa ayyuhal lazeena aamanoo izaa noodiya lis-Salaati miny
yawmil Jumu'ati fas'aw ilaa zikril laahi wa zarul bai'; zaalikum khayrul lakum in kuntum
ta'lamoon
O you who have believed, when [the adhan] is called for the
prayer on the day of Jumu'ah [Friday], then proceed to the remembrance of Allah and leave
trade. That is better for you, if you only knew.
فَإِذَا قُضِيَتِ ٱلصَّلَوٰةُ
فَٱنتَشِرُواْ
فِي
ٱلۡأَرۡضِ
وَٱبۡتَغُواْ
مِن
فَضۡلِ
ٱللَّهِ
وَٱذۡكُرُواْ
ٱللَّهَ
كَثِيرٗا
لَّعَلَّكُمۡ
تُفۡلِحُونَ
Fa-izaa qudiyatis Salaatu fantashiroo fil ardi wabtaghoo min
fadlil laahi wazkurul laaha kaseeral la'allakum tuflihoon
And when the prayer has been concluded, disperse within the land
and seek from the bounty of Allah, and remember Allah often that you may succeed.
يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ لَا تُلۡهِكُمۡ أَمۡوَٰلُكُمۡ وَلَآ
أَوۡلَٰدُكُمۡ
عَن
ذِكۡرِ
ٱللَّهِۚ
وَمَن
يَفۡعَلۡ
ذَٰلِكَ
فَأُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ
هُمُ ٱلۡخَٰسِرُونَ
Yaaa ayyuhal lazeena aamanoo la tulhikum amwaalukum wa laa
awlaadukum 'anzikril laah; wa mai-yaf'al zaalika fa-ulaaa'ika humul khaasiroon
O you who have believed, let not your wealth and your children
divert you from remembrance of Allah. And whoever does that - then those are the losers.
لِّنَفۡتِنَهُمۡ
فِيهِۚ
وَمَن
يُعۡرِضۡ
عَن
ذِكۡرِ
رَبِّهِۦ يَسۡلُكۡهُ عَذَابٗا صَعَدٗا
Linaftinahum feeh; wa many yu'rid 'an zikri rabbihee yasluk
hu 'azaaban sa'ada
So We might test them therein. And whoever turns away from the
remembrance of his Lord He will put into arduous punishment.
وَٱذۡكُرِ ٱسۡمَ رَبِّكَ
وَتَبَتَّلۡ
إِلَيۡهِ تَبۡتِيلٗا
Wazkuris ma rabbika wa tabattal ilaihi tabteelaa
And remember the name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him
with [complete] devotion.
وَٱذۡكُرِ ٱسۡمَ رَبِّكَ بُكۡرَةٗ وَأَصِيلٗا
Wazkuris ma Rabbika bukratanw wa aseelaa
And mention the name of your Lord [in prayer] morning and
evening
وَجِاْيٓءَ يَوۡمَئِذِۭ بِجَهَنَّمَۚ يَوۡمَئِذٖ يَتَذَكَّرُ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ وَأَنَّىٰ لَهُ
ٱلذِّكۡرَىٰ
Wa jeee'a yawma'izim bi jahannnam; Yawma 'iziny yatazakkarul
insaanu wa annaa lahuz zikraa
And brought [within view], that Day, is Hell - that Day, man
will remember, but what good to him will be the remembrance?
