[Theirs is] like the custom of the people of Pharaoh and of those before them. They disbelieved in the signs of Allah, so Allah seized them for their sins. Indeed, Allah is Powerful and severe in penalty.
“(Deeds) after the manner of the people of Pharaoh and of those before them: They rejected the Signs of Allah, and Allah punished them for their crimes: for Allah is Strong, and Strict in punishment:
Their case is like that of the people of Pharaoh and those before them. They denied the signs of Allah and so Allah seized them for their sins. Surely Allah is All-Powerful, Stern in retribution.
Similar to the behaviour of the people of Fir’aun (Pharaoh), and of those before them; they rejected the Ayat (proofs, verses, etc.) of Allah, so Allah punished them for their sins. Verily, Allah is All-Strong, Severe in punishment.
(Their way is) as the way of Pharaoh’s folk and those before them; they disbelieved the revelations of Allah, and Allah took them in their sins. Lo! Allah is Strong, severe in punishment.
As was the steadfast manner of the house of Firaawn (Pharaoh) and the ones who were even before them (who) disbelieved in the signs of Allah; so Allah took them (away) for their guilty (deeds). Surely Allah is Ever-Powerful, strict in punishment.
They are like Pharaoh’s people and those before them who ignored God’s signs, so God punished them for their sins: God is strong and severe in His punishment.
مثل فرعونیوں کے حال کے اور ان سے اگلوں کے، کہ انہوں نے اللہ کی آیتوں سے کفر کیا پس اللہ نے ان کے گناہوں کے باعﺚ انہیں پکڑ لیا۔ اللہ تعالیٰ یقیناً قوت واﻻ اور سخت عذاب واﻻ ہے

Ala-Maududi
(8:52) Their case is like that of the people of Pharaoh and those before them. They denied the signs of Allah and so Allah seized them for their sins. Surely Allah is All-Powerful, Stern in retribution.

Ibn-Kathir
52. Similar to the behavior of the people of Fir`awn, and of those before them — they rejected the Ayat of Allah, so Allah punished them for their sins. Verily, Allah is All-Strong, severe in punishment.
Allah says, `The behavior of these rebellious disbelievers against what I sent you with, O Muhammad, is similar to the behavior of earlier disbelieving nations. So We behaved with them according to Our Da’b, that is, Our behavior ﴿or custom﴾ and way, as We did with them with what We often do and decide concerning their likes, the denying people of Fir`awn and the earlier nations who rejected the Messengers and disbelieved in Our Ayat,’
(so Allah punished them for their sins.)
Because of their sins, Allah destroyed them
(Verily, Allah is All-Strong, severe in punishment.)
none can resist Him or escape His grasp.
