Surah Insan Ayat 24 in Arabic Text

فَٱصۡبِرۡ لِحُكۡمِ رَبِّكَ وَلَا تُطِعۡ مِنۡهُمۡ ءَاثِمًا أَوۡ كَفُورٗا
Fasbir lihukmi Rabbika wa laa tuti’ minhum aasiman aw kafooraa

English Translation

Sahih International
So be patient for the decision of your Lord and do not obey from among them a sinner or ungrateful [disbeliever].

Yusuf Ali
Therefore be patient with constancy to the Command of thy Lord, and hearken not to the sinner or the ingrate among them.

Abul Ala Maududi
So persevere with the command of your Lord and do not pay any heed to the wicked and the unbelieving,

Muhsin Khan
Therefore be patient (O Muhammad SAW) and submit to the Command of your Lord (Allah, by doing your duty to Him and by conveying His Message to mankind), and obey neither a sinner nor a disbeliever among them.

Pickthall
So submit patiently to thy Lord’s command, and obey not of them any guilty one or disbeliever.

Dr. Ghali
So (endure) patiently under the Judgment of your Lord, and do not obey one of them, vicious or most disbelieving;

Quran 76 Verse 24 Explanation

Ala-Maududi

(76:24) So persevere with the command of your Lord[28] and do not pay any heed to the wicked and the unbelieving,[29]


28. “Be patient”: Face patiently the hardships anddifficulties of the great Mission your Lord has entrusted toupon you; endure firmly and steadfastly whatever comes topass, without showing any weakness in this regard.

29. “Do not obey”: Do not yield to any one of them so as togive up preaching of the true faith; do not be inclined tomake even the least change in the religious beliefs for thesake of any denier of the truth, or in the moral teachingsfor the sake of a wicked person. Proclaim whatever isunlawful and forbidden to be so openly even if an immoralperson might press you hard to show some lenience in thiscondemnation, and proclaim whatever is false as false andwhatever is true as true publicly even if the disbelieversmight use all their influence to silence you, or to make youadopt a little lenience in this regard.
