Surah Mu’minun Ayat 67 in Arabic Text

مُسْتَكْبِرِينَ بِهِۦ سَـٰمِرًۭا تَهْجُرُونَ
Mustakbireena bihee saamiran tahjuroon

English Translation

Sahih International
In arrogance regarding it, conversing by night, speaking evil.

Yusuf Ali
“In arrogance: talking nonsense about the (Qur’an), like one telling fables by night.”

Abul Ala Maududi
behaving arrogantly, and making fun, and talking nonsense (about the Book in your nightly chats).”

Muhsin Khan
In pride (they Quraish pagans and polytheists of Makkah used to feel proud that they are the dwellers of Makkah sanctuary Haram), talking evil about it (the Quran) by night.

Pickthall
In scorn thereof. Nightly did ye rave together.

Dr. Ghali
Waxing proud against it, forsaking it for entertainment.”
