Surah Qalam Ayat 27 in Arabic Text

بَلۡ نَحۡنُ مَحۡرُومُونَ
Bal nahnu mahroomoon

English Translation

Sahih International
Rather, we have been deprived.”

Yusuf Ali
“Indeed we are shut out (of the fruits of our labour)!”

Abul Ala Maududi
rather, we are utterly ruined.”

Muhsin Khan
(Then they said): “Nay! Indeed we are deprived of (the fruits)!”

Pickthall
Nay, but we are desolate!

Dr. Ghali
No indeed, (but) we are dispossessed!”

Ala-Maududi

(68:27) rather, we are utterly ruined.”[16]


16. That is, on seeing the garden they didn’t believe it was their own garden, and they said: Perhaps we have lost our way and come to another place. But, when they considered it seriously and found it was their own garden, they cried out: Alas we are deprived.

Ibn-Kathir
