The Prophet (ﷺ) revealed in one Sahih (Authentic) hadith that “Allah has revealed to me Ayat the likes of which have not been seen” the ayats he’s referring to are that of Surah Falaq and Surah Nas.
The hadith continues on to mention that the Prophet advised “Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind…” (Surah An-Nas) until the end. “Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of Al-Falaq…” until the end of the Surat.
Together these two surahs are very powerful that it’s been given a special name called “Al mu’awwidhatayn” (Arabic: المعوذتان) meaning “the verses of refuge”. Before continuing on with the benefits and importance of these two surahs let’s go over them.
Surah Al-Falaq Meaning in English:
Surah Falaq is the 113th chapter of the Quran and only consists of 5 ayats. This makes it very easy to read and memorize.
Read and Listen to Surah An-Naas:
Surah An-Naas is the 114th chapter of the Holy Quran. It is the last surah and consists of 6 ayat which also makes it one of the shortest surahs.
Hadith On Surah Falaq and Nas:
Abu Sa’id Al-Khudri (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to seek protection against the evil of jinn and the evil eyes till Surat Al-Falaq and Surat An-Nas were revealed. After they were revealed, he took to them for seeking Allah’s protection and left everything besides them. [At- Tirmidhi].

Hadith Before Going to Bed Reciting Surah An Naas and Falaq:
Narrated ‘Aisha:
Whenever the Prophet (ﷺ) went to bed every night, he used to cup his hands together and blow over it after reciting Surat Al-Ikhlas, Surat Al-Falaq and Surat An-Nas, and then rub his hands over whatever parts of his body he was able to rub, starting with his head, face and front of his body. He used to do that three times.

Will leave with one more quote from Ibn Al-Qayyim which really highlights the power of Surah Naas and Falaq. He states, “the effectiveness of these surahs is great to repel magic, evil eye, and the rest of the evils and the need for a slave to seek Allah’s protection from these two surahs is greater than his need for self, eating, driking, and wearing dress” (Al-Fawwaid, 2/426).
