Surah Hadid Ayat 15 in Arabic Text
English Translation
Here you can read various translations of verse 15
So today no ransom will be taken from you or from those who disbelieved. Your refuge is the Fire. It is most worthy of you, and wretched is the destination.
“This Day shall no ransom be accepted of you, nor of those who rejected Allah.” Your abode is the Fire: that is the proper place to claim you: and an evil refuge it is!”
So no ransom shall be accepted from you today, nor from those who disbelieved. You are destined for the Fire. That will be your guardian. And that indeed is a grievous destination.
So this Day no ransom shall be taken from you (hypocrites), nor of those who disbelieved, (in the Oneness of Allah Islamic Monotheism). Your abode is the Fire, that is the proper place for you, and worst indeed is that destination.
So this day no ransom can be taken from you nor from those who disbelieved. Your home is the Fire; that is your patron, and a hapless journey’s end.
So today no ransom will be taken from you, nor from the ones who disbelieved. Your abode is the Fire; it is your patronizer and miserable is the Destiny!”
Today no ransom will be accepted from you or from the disbelievers: your home is the Fire- that is where you belong––a miserable destination!’
Quran 57 Verse 15 Explanation
For those looking for commentary to help with the understanding of Surah Hadid ayat 15, we’ve provided two Tafseer works below. The first is the tafseer of Abul Ala Maududi, the second is of Ibn Kathir.
Ala-Maududi
(57:15) So no ransom shall be accepted from you today, nor from those who disbelieved.[26] You are destined for the Fire. That will be your guardian.[27] And that indeed is a grievous destination.
26. This clearly shows that in the Hereafter the hypocrites will be doomed to the same fate as the disbelievers.
27. The words hiya maula kum (Hell is your maula) can have two meanings:
(1) That Hell is the only proper place for you.
(2) That you never took Allah as your maula (friend, patron) so that He may look after you. Now Hell only is your maula, therefore, Hell now will look after you.
Ibn-Kathir
