Here you are loving them but they are not loving you, while you believe in the Scripture – all of it. And when they meet you, they say, “We believe.” But when they are alone, they bite their fingertips at you in rage. Say, “Die in your rage. Indeed, Allah is Knowing of that within the breasts.”
Ah! ye are those who love them, but they love you not,- though ye believe in the whole of the Book. When they meet you, they say, “We believe”: But when they are alone, they bite off the very tips of their fingers at you in their rage. Say: “Perish in your rage; Allah knoweth well all the secrets of the heart.”
Lo! It is you who love them but they do not love you even though you believe in the whole of the (heavenly) Book. When they meet you they say: ‘We believe’, but when they are by themselves they bite their fingers in rage at you. Say: ‘Perish in your rage.’ Allah knows even what lies hidden in their breasts.
Lo! You are the ones who love them but they love you not, and you believe in all the Scriptures [i.e. you believe in the Taurat (Torah) and the Injeel (Gospel), while they disbelieve in your Book, the Quran]. And when they meet you, they say, “We believe”. But when they are alone, they bite the tips of their fingers at you in rage. Say: “Perish in your rage. Certainly, Allah knows what is in the breasts (all the secrets).”
Lo! ye are those who love them though they love you not, and ye believe in all the Scripture. When they fall in with you they say: We believe; but when they go apart they bite their finger-tips at you, for rage. Say: Perish in your rage! Lo! Allah is Aware of what is hidden in (your) breasts.
Now, you are those ones who love them, and they do not love you, and you believe in the Book, all of it. And when they meet you, they say, “We have believed.” And when they go away in private, they bite at you their finger-tips in rage. Say, “Die in your rage; surely Allah is Ever-Knowing of the inmost (thoughts) in the breasts ” (Literally: what the breasts own).
This is how it is: here you are, you love them, but they do not love you; you believe in all the Scriptures and when they meet you, they say, ‘We believe,’ but when they are alone, they bite their fingertips in rage at you. [Prophet], say, ‘Die of rage [if you wish]!’ God knows exactly what is in everyone’s hearts.
اگر عقلمند ہو (تو غور کرو) ہاں تم تو انہیں چاہتے ہو اور وه تم سے محبت نہیں رکھتے، تم پوری کتاب کو مانتے ہو، (وه نہیں مانتے پھر محبت کیسی؟) یہ تمہارے سامنے تو اپنے ایمان کا اقرار کرتے ہیں لیکن تنہائی میں مارے غصہ کے انگلیاں چباتے ہیں کہہ دو کہ اپنے غصہ ہی میں مر جاؤ، اللہ تعالیٰ دلوں کے راز کو بخوبی جانتا ہے

Ala-Maududi
(3:119) Lo! It is you who love them but they do not love you even though you believe in the whole of the (heavenly) Book.[93] When they meet you they say: ‘We believe’, but when they are by themselves they bite their fingers in rage at you. Say: ‘Perish in your rage.’ Allah knows even what lies hidden in their breasts.
93. It is strange that although the Muslims had reason to feel aggrieved by the Jews it was the latter who felt aggrieved by the Muslims. Since the Muslims believed in the Torah along with the Qur’an the Jews had no justifiable ground for complaint. If anyone had cause to complain it was the Muslims for the Jews did not believe in the Qur’an.
