English Translation

And when they had both submitted and he put him down upon his forehead,
So when they had both submitted their wills (to Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (for sacrifice),
When both surrendered (to Allah’s command) and Abraham flung the son down on his forehead,
Then, when they had both submitted themselves (to the Will of Allah), and he had laid him prostrate on his forehead (or on the side of his forehead for slaughtering);
Then, when they had both surrendered (to Allah), and he had flung him down upon his face,
So, as soon as they had both surrendered, and he dashed him upon his brow.
When they had both submitted to God, and he had laid his son down on the side of his face,
غرض جب دونوں مطیع ہوگئے اور اس نے (باپ نے) اس کو (بیٹے کو) پیشانی کے بل گرا دیا

Ala-Maududi
(37:103) When both surrendered (to Allah’s command) and Abraham flung the son down on his forehead,[61]
61. That is, the Prophet Abraham (peace be upon him) did not make his son lie flat on his back but made him lie prostrate lest while slaughtering him the sight of his face should arouse compassion and love and make him shaky. Therefore, he wanted to use the knife from under the throat.
