Surah Saffat Ayat 15 in Arabic Text

وَقَالُوٓا۟ إِنْ هَـٰذَآ إِلَّا سِحْرٌۭ مُّبِينٌ
Wa qaalooo in haazaa illaa sihrum mubeen

English Translation

Sahih International
And say, “This is not but obvious magic.

Yusuf Ali
And say, “This is nothing but evident sorcery!

Abul Ala Maududi
and say: “This is nothing but plain sorcery.

Muhsin Khan
And they say: “This is nothing but evident magic!

Pickthall
And they say: Lo! this is mere magic;

Dr. Ghali
And they have said, “Decidedly this is nothing except an evident sorcery.

Abdel Haleem
saying, ‘This is no more than blatant sorcery.’

Quran 37 Verse 15 Explanation

Ala-Maududi

(37:15) and say: “This is nothing but plain sorcery.[10]


10. That is, this person is talking of the world of magic in which the dead will rise, and will be produced before a court and sent to Heaven and Hell, or it may also mean: This person is talking like a madman. What he talks is a clear proof that somebody has worked magic on him; otherwise a sensible person could not talk such things.

Ibn-Kathir
