English Translation

Say, “Yes, and you will be [rendered] contemptible.”
Say thou: “Yea, and ye shall then be humiliated (on account of your evil).”
Tell them: “Yes; and you are utterly helpless (against Allah).”
Say (O Muhammad SAW): “Yes, and you shall then be humiliated.”
Say (O Muhammad): Ye, in truth; and ye will be brought low.
Say, “Yes, and you will be (utterly) abject.”
Say, ‘Yes indeed, and you will be humiliated.’

Ala-Maududi
(37:18) Tell them: “Yes; and you are utterly helpless (against Allah).”[11]
11. That is, Allah can make of you whatever He likes. When He willed, you came into being forthwith; when He wills, you will die at one command by Him; and then whenever He wills, His one command will raise you back to life.
Ibn-Kathir
