Surah Saffat Ayat 30 in Arabic Text

وَمَا كَانَ لَنَا عَلَيۡكُم مِّن سُلۡطَٰنِۭۖ بَلۡ كُنتُمۡ قَوۡمٗا طَٰغِينَ

Wa maa kaana lanaa ‘alaikum min sultaanim bal kuntum qawman taagheen

English Translation

Sahih International
And we had over you no authority, but you were a transgressing people.

Yusuf Ali
“Nor had we any authority over you. Nay, it was ye who were a people in obstinate rebellion!

Abul Ala Maududi
We had no power over you. You were a rebellious people,

Muhsin Khan
“And we had no authority over you. Nay! But you were transgressing people (disobedient, polytheists, and disbelievers).

Pickthall
We had no power over you, but ye were wayward folk.

Dr. Ghali
And in no way did we have any all- binding authority over you; no indeed, (but) you were an inordinate people.”
