Surah Yunus Ayat 89 in Arabic Text
English Translation
Here you can read various translations of verse 89
[Allah] said, “Your supplication has been answered.” So remain on a right course and follow not the way of those who do not know.”
Allah said: “Accepted is your prayer (O Moses and Aaron)! So stand ye straight, and follow not the path of those who know not.”
Allah responded: ‘The prayer of the two of you is accepted. So keep steadfast, and do not follow the path of the ignorant.
Allah said: “Verily, the invocation of you both is accepted. So you both keep to the Straight Way (i.e. keep on doing good deeds and preaching Allah’s Message with patience), and follow not the path of those who know not (the truth i.e. to believe in the Oneness of Allah, and also to believe in the Reward of Allah: Paradise, etc.).”
He said: Your prayer is heard. Do ye twain keep to the straight path, and follow not the road of those who have no knowledge.
Said He, “Your invocation (i.e., of both Mûsa and Harûn) has been answered; so go you (two) straight and definitely do not ever follow the way of the ones who do not know.”.
God said, ‘Your prayers are answered, so stay on the right course, and do not follow the path of those who do not know.’

Quran 10 Verse 89 Explanation
For those looking for commentary to help with the understanding of Surah Yunus ayat 89, we’ve provided two Tafseer works below. The first is the tafseer of Abul Ala Maududi, the second is of Ibn Kathir.
Ala-Maududi
(10:89) Allah responded: ‘The prayer of the two of you is accepted. So keep steadfast, and do not follow the path of the ignorant.[90]
90. In this verse, Allah has urged Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) and his followers to guard against a common misunderstanding that is likely to arise in such cases. It so happens that those people who have no knowledge of the reality and who do not understand the wisdom of Allah’s ways are liable to believe from the apparent success of His rebels that perhaps it is His will that they should dominate in the world. When they witness the failures of the upholders of the truth in their conflict with falsehood in contrast to the splendor and vast possessions of the champions of falsehood, they begin to think that Allah does not will to help the truth in its conflict with falsehood. Therefore some foolish people further conclude from these wrong suppositions that it is useless to exert for the establishment of the truth. Then they consider it to be the best and most proper thing to rest content with the little religiosity that the sovereignty of falsehood and unbelief allows them. That is why Allah has urged Prophet Moses (peace be upon him) and his followers to guard against such a misunderstanding and to carry on the mission entrusted to them with patience under the adverse circumstances.
