English Translation
Here you can read various translations of verse 4
And that our foolish one has been saying about Allah an excessive transgression.
‘There were some foolish ones among us, who used to utter extravagant lies against Allah;
and that “the foolish among us have been wont to say outrageous things about Allah”;
‘And that the foolish among us [i.e. Iblis (Satan) or the polytheists amongst the jinns] used to utter against Allah that which was wrong and not right.
And that the foolish one among us used to speak concerning Allah an atrocious lie.
And that the foolish (ones) among us used to speak against Allah unjudiciously.
Outrageous things have been said about God by the foolish among us,
اور یہ کہ ہم میں کا بیوقوف اللہ کے بارے میں خلاف حق باتیں کہا کرتا تھا

Ala-Maududi
(72:4) and that “the foolish among us[5] have been wont to say outrageous things about Allah”;
5. The word safihuna as used in the text can be spoken for an individual as well as for a group. If it is taken for a foolish individual, it would imply Iblis and if for a group, it would imply a group of foolish jinn who said such things.
