Surah Rahman Ayat 35 in Arabic Text
English Translation
Here you can read various translations of verse 35
There will be sent upon you a flame of fire and smoke, and you will not defend yourselves.
On you will be sent (O ye evil ones twain!) a flame of fire (to burn) and a smoke (to choke): no defence will ye have:
(If you so venture) a flame of fire and smoke shall be lashed at you, which you shall be unable to withstand.
There will be sent against you both, smokeless flames of fire and (molten) brass, and you will not be able to defend yourselves.
There will be sent, against you both, heat of fire and flash of brass, and ye will not escape.
Against you (both) will be sent flares of fire, and (molten) brass; then you will not vindicate yourselves.
A flash of fire and smoke will be released upon you and no one will come to your aid.
تم پر آگ کے شعلے اور دھواں چھوڑا جائے گا پھر تم مقابلہ نہ کر سکو گے
Quran 55 Verse 35 Explanation
For those looking for commentary to help with the understanding of Surah Rahman ayat 35, we’ve provided two Tafseer works below. The first is the tafseer of Abul Ala Maududi, the second is of Ibn Kathir.
Ala-Maududi
(55:35) (If you so venture) a flame of fire and smoke[33] shall be lashed at you, which you shall be unable to withstand.
33. The word shuwaz, as used in the original, means the pure, smokeless flame, and nuhas is the gross smoke without a flame. These two things, one after the other, will be let loose upon the men and jinn, when they try to escape the accountability of Allah.
Ibn-Kathir
