So do not assert similarities to Allah. Indeed, Allah knows and you do not know.
Invent not similitudes for Allah: for Allah knoweth, and ye know not.
So do not strike any similitudes to Allah. Allah knows whereas you do not know.
So put not forward similitudes for Allah (as there is nothing similar to Him, nor He resembles anything). Truly! Allah knows and you know not.
So coin not similitudes for Allah. Lo! Allah knoweth; ye know not.
So do not strike (any) similitudes for Allah; surely Allah knows and you do not know.
So do not make up images about God: God knows and you do not.

For those looking for commentary to help with the understanding of Surah Nahl ayat 74, we’ve provided two Tafseer works below. The first is the tafseer of Abul Ala Maududi, the second is of Ibn Kathir.
(16:74) So do not strike any similitudes to Allah. Allah knows whereas you do not know.
65. “So do not make up any similitude for Allah”: You should not compare Allah with others nor consider Him to be unapproachable like worldly kings and rulers, to whom none can have access without the mediation and intercession of their courtiers and servants. As Allah is not surrounded by angels, saints, favorites, etc. everyone can have direct access to Him without mediation by anyone. 7
