Surah Al-Anbiya Ayat 72 in Arabic Text

وَوَهَبۡنَا لَهُۥٓ إِسۡحَٰقَ وَيَعۡقُوبَ نَافِلَةٗۖ وَكُلّٗا جَعَلۡنَا صَٰلِحِينَ

Wa wahabnaa lahooo Ishaaqa; wa Ya’qooba naafilah; wa kullan ja’alnaa saaliheen

English Translation

And We gave him Isaac and Jacob in addition, and all [of them] We made righteous.

Yusuf Ali
And We bestowed on him Isaac and, as an additional gift, (a grandson), Jacob, and We made righteous men of every one (of them).

Abul Ala Maududi
And We bestowed upon him Isaac and Jacob as an additional gift, making each of them righteous.

Muhsin Khan
And We bestowed upon him Ishaque (Isaac), and (a grandson) Ya’qub (Jacob). Each one We made righteous.

Quran 21 Verse 72 Explanation

Ala-Maududi

(21:72) And We bestowed upon him Isaac and Jacob as an additional gift,^[65] making each of them righteous.

65. That is, We made his son a Prophet and his grandson too.
