Bismillah hir rahman nir raheem
Sahih International:
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

ٱقۡتَرَبَ لِلنَّاسِ حِسَابُهُمۡ وَهُمۡ فِي غَفۡلَةٖ مُّعۡرِضُونَ

Iqtaraba linnaasi hisaabuhum wa hum fee ghaflatim mu’ridoon
Sahih International:
[The time of] their account has approached for the people, while they are in heedlessness turning away.

مَا يَأۡتِيهِم مِّن ذِكۡرٖ مِّن رَّبِّهِم مُّحۡدَثٍ إِلَّا ٱسۡتَمَعُوهُ وَهُمۡ يَلۡعَبُونَ

Maa ya’teehim min zikrim mir Rabbihim muhdasin illas tama’oohu wa hum yal’aboon
Sahih International:
No mention comes to them anew from their Lord except that they listen to it while they are at play

لَاهِيَةٗ قُلُوبُهُمۡۗ وَأَسَرُّواْ ٱلنَّجۡوَى ٱلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُواْ هَلۡ هَٰذَآ إِلَّا بَشَرٞ مِّثۡلُكُمۡۖ أَفَتَأۡتُونَ ٱلسِّحۡرَ وَأَنتُمۡ تُبۡصِرُونَ

Laahiyatan quloobuhum; wa asarrun najwal lazeena zalamoo hal haazaaa illaa basharum mislukum ‘afa ta’toonas sihra wa antum tubsiroon
Sahih International:
With their hearts distracted. And those who do wrong conceal their private conversation, [saying], “Is this [Prophet] except a human being like you? So would you approach magic while you are aware [of it]?”

قَالَ رَبِّي يَعۡلَمُ ٱلۡقَوۡلَ فِي ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ وَهُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلۡعَلِيمُ

Qaala Rabbee ya’lamul qawla fis samaaa’i wal ardi wa Huwas Samee’ul ‘Aleem
Sahih International:
The Prophet said, “My Lord knows whatever is said throughout the heaven and earth, and He is the Hearing, the Knowing.”

بَلۡ قَالُوٓاْ أَضۡغَٰثُ أَحۡلَٰمِۭ بَلِ ٱفۡتَرَىٰهُ بَلۡ هُوَ شَاعِرٞ فَلۡيَأۡتِنَا بِـَٔايَةٖ كَمَآ أُرۡسِلَ ٱلۡأَوَّلُونَ
21:5play_arrow
Bal qaalooo adghaasu ahlaamin bal iftaraahu bal huwa shaa’irun fal ya’tinaa bi Aayatin kamaa ursilal awwaloon
Sahih International:
But they say, “[The revelation is but] a mixture of false dreams; rather, he has invented it; rather, he is a poet. So let him bring us a sign just as the previous [messengers] were sent [with miracles].”

مَآ ءَامَنَتۡ قَبۡلَهُم مِّن قَرۡيَةٍ أَهۡلَكۡنَٰهَآۖ أَفَهُمۡ يُؤۡمِنُونَ
21:6play_arrow
Maaa aaamanat qablahum min qaryatin ahlaknaahaa a-fahum yu’minoon
Sahih International:
Not a [single] city which We destroyed believed before them, so will they believe?

وَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا قَبۡلَكَ إِلَّا رِجَالٗا نُّوحِيٓ إِلَيۡهِمۡۖ فَسۡـَٔلُوٓاْ أَهۡلَ ٱلذِّكۡرِ إِن كُنتُمۡ لَا تَعۡلَمُونَ
21:7play_arrow
Wa maaa arsalnaa qablaka illaa rijaalan nooheee ilaihim fas’aloo ahlaz zikri in kuntum laa ta’lamoon
Sahih International:
And We sent not before you, [O Muhammad], except men to whom We revealed [the message], so ask the people of the message if you do not know.

وَمَا جَعَلۡنَٰهُمۡ جَسَدٗا لَّا يَأۡكُلُونَ ٱلطَّعَامَ وَمَا كَانُواْ خَٰلِدِينَ
21:8play_arrow
Wa maa ja’alnaahum jasadal laa ya’kuloonat ta’aama wa maa kaanoo khaalideen
Sahih International:
And We did not make the prophets forms not eating food, nor were they immortal [on earth].

ثُمَّ صَدَقۡنَٰهُمُ ٱلۡوَعۡدَ فَأَنجَيۡنَٰهُمۡ وَمَن نَّشَآءُ وَأَهۡلَكۡنَا ٱلۡمُسۡرِفِينَ

Summa sadaqnaa humul wa’da fa-anjainaahum wa man nashaaa’u wa ahlaknal musrifeen
Sahih International:
Then We fulfilled for them the promise, and We saved them and whom We willed and destroyed the transgressors.

لَقَدۡ أَنزَلۡنَآ إِلَيۡكُمۡ كِتَٰبٗا فِيهِ ذِكۡرُكُمۡۚ أَفَلَا تَعۡقِلُونَ

Laqad anzalnaaa ilaikum Kitaaban feehi zikrukum afalaa ta’qiloon (Section 1)
Sahih International:
We have certainly sent down to you a Book in which is your mention. Then will you not reason?

وَكَمۡ قَصَمۡنَا مِن قَرۡيَةٖ كَانَتۡ ظَالِمَةٗ وَأَنشَأۡنَا بَعۡدَهَا قَوۡمًا ءَاخَرِينَ

Wa kam qasamnaa min qaryatin kaanat zaalimatanw wa ansha’ naa ba’dahaa qawman aakhareen
Sahih International:
And how many a city which was unjust have We shattered and produced after it another people.

فَلَمَّآ أَحَسُّواْ بَأۡسَنَآ إِذَا هُم مِّنۡهَا يَرۡكُضُونَ

Falammaaa ahassoo ba’sanaaa izaa hum minhaa yarkudoon
Sahih International:
And when its inhabitants perceived Our punishment, at once they fled from it.

لَا تَرۡكُضُواْ وَٱرۡجِعُوٓاْ إِلَىٰ مَآ أُتۡرِفۡتُمۡ فِيهِ وَمَسَٰكِنِكُمۡ لَعَلَّكُمۡ تُسۡـَٔلُونَ

Laa tarkudoo warji’ooo ilaa maaa utriftum feehi wa masaakinikum la’allakum tus’aloon
Sahih International:
[Some angels said], “Do not flee but return to where you were given luxury and to your homes – perhaps you will be questioned.”

قَالُواْ يَٰوَيۡلَنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَٰلِمِينَ

Qaaloo yaa wailanaaa innaa kunnaa zaalimeen
Sahih International:
They said, “O woe to us! Indeed, we were wrongdoers.”

فَمَا زَالَت تِّلۡكَ دَعۡوَىٰهُمۡ حَتَّىٰ جَعَلۡنَٰهُمۡ حَصِيدًا خَٰمِدِينَ

Famaa zaalat tilka da’waahum hattaa ja’alnaahum haseedan khaamideen
Sahih International:
And that declaration of theirs did not cease until We made them [as] a harvest [mowed down], extinguished [like a fire].

وَمَا خَلَقۡنَا ٱلسَّمَآءَ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ وَمَا بَيۡنَهُمَا لَٰعِبِينَ
21:16play_arrow
Wa maa khalaqnas samaaa’a wal arda wa maa bainahumaa laa’ibeen
Sahih International:
And We did not create the heaven and earth and that between them in play.

لَوۡ أَرَدۡنَآ أَن نَّتَّخِذَ لَهۡوٗا لَّٱتَّخَذۡنَٰهُ مِن لَّدُنَّآ إِن كُنَّا فَٰعِلِينَ

Law aradnaaa an nattakhiza lahwal lat takhaznaahu mil ladunnaaa in kunnaa faa’ileen
Sahih International:
Had We intended to take a diversion, We could have taken it from [what is] with Us – if [indeed] We were to do so.

بَلۡ نَقۡذِفُ بِٱلۡحَقِّ عَلَى ٱلۡبَٰطِلِ فَيَدۡمَغُهُۥ فَإِذَا هُوَ زَاهِقٞۚ وَلَكُمُ ٱلۡوَيۡلُ مِمَّا تَصِفُونَ
21:18play_arrow
Bal naqzifu bilhaqqi ‘alal baatili fa yadmaghuhoo fa izaa huwa zaahiq; wa lakumul wailu mimmaa tasifoon
Sahih International:
Rather, We dash the truth upon falsehood, and it destroys it, and thereupon it departs. And for you is destruction from that which you describe.

وَلَهُۥ مَن فِي ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِۚ وَمَنۡ عِندَهُۥ لَا يَسۡتَكۡبِرُونَ عَنۡ عِبَادَتِهِۦ وَلَا يَسۡتَحۡسِرُونَ

Wa lahoo man fis samaawaati wal ard; wa man ‘indahoo laa yastakbiroona ‘an ‘ibaada tihee wa laa yastahsiroon
Sahih International:
To Him belongs whoever is in the heavens and the earth. And those near Him are not prevented by arrogance from His worship, nor do they tire.

يُسَبِّحُونَ ٱلَّيۡلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ لَا يَفۡتُرُونَ

Yusabbihoona laila wannahaara laa yafturoon
Sahih International:
They exalt [Him] night and day [and] do not slacken.

أَمِ ٱتَّخَذُوٓاْ ءَالِهَةٗ مِّنَ ٱلۡأَرۡضِ هُمۡ يُنشِرُونَ
21:21play_arrow
Amit takhazooo aalihatam minal ardi hum yunshiroon
Sahih International:
Or have men taken for themselves gods from the earth who resurrect [the dead]?

لَوۡ كَانَ فِيهِمَآ ءَالِهَةٌ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ لَفَسَدَتَاۚ فَسُبۡحَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَرۡشِ عَمَّا يَصِفُونَ
21:22play_arrow
Law kaana feehimaaa aalihatun illal laahu lafasadataa; fa-Subhaanal laahi Rabbil ‘Arshi ‘ammaa yasifoon
Sahih International:
Had there been within the heavens and earth gods besides Allah, they both would have been ruined. So exalted is Allah, Lord of the Throne, above what they describe.

لَا يُسۡـَٔلُ عَمَّا يَفۡعَلُ وَهُمۡ يُسۡـَٔلُونَ
21:23play_arrow
Laa yus’alu ‘ammaa yaf’alu wa hum yus’aloon
Sahih International:
He is not questioned about what He does, but they will be questioned.

أَمِ ٱتَّخَذُواْ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ ءَالِهَةٗۖ قُلۡ هَاتُواْ بُرۡهَٰنَكُمۡۖ هَٰذَا ذِكۡرُ مَن مَّعِيَ وَذِكۡرُ مَن قَبۡلِيۚ بَلۡ أَكۡثَرُهُمۡ لَا يَعۡلَمُونَ ٱلۡحَقَّۖ فَهُم مُّعۡرِضُونَ
21:24play_arrow
Amit takhazoo min doonihee aalihatan qul haatoo burhaanakum haaza zikru mam ma’iya wa zikru man qablee; bal aksaruhum laa ya’lamoonal haqqa fahum mu’ridoon
Sahih International:
Or have they taken gods besides Him? Say, [O Muhammad], “Produce your proof. This [Qur’an] is the message for those with me and the message of those before me.” But most of them do not know the truth, so they are turning away.

وَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَا مِن قَبۡلِكَ مِن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا نُوحِيٓ إِلَيۡهِ أَنَّهُۥ لَآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنَا۠ فَٱعۡبُدُونِ
21:25play_arrow
Wa maaa arsalnaa min qablika mir Rasoolin illaa nooheee ilaihi annahoo laaa ilaaha illaaa Ana fa’budoon
Sahih International:
And We sent not before you any messenger except that We revealed to him that, “There is no deity except Me, so worship Me.”

وَقَالُواْ ٱتَّخَذَ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ وَلَدٗاۗ سُبۡحَٰنَهُۥۚ بَلۡ عِبَادٞ مُّكۡرَمُونَ
21:26play_arrow
Wa qaalut takhazar Rahmaanu waladaa; Subhaanahu bal ‘ibaadum mukramoon
Sahih International:
And they say, “The Most Merciful has taken a son.” Exalted is He! Rather, they are [but] honored servants.

لَا يَسۡبِقُونَهُۥ بِٱلۡقَوۡلِ وَهُم بِأَمۡرِهِۦ يَعۡمَلُونَ
21:27play_arrow
Laa yasbiqoonahoo bil qawli wa hum bi amrihee ya’maloon
Sahih International:
They cannot precede Him in word, and they act by His command.

يَعۡلَمُ مَا بَيۡنَ أَيۡدِيهِمۡ وَمَا خَلۡفَهُمۡ وَلَا يَشۡفَعُونَ إِلَّا لِمَنِ ٱرۡتَضَىٰ وَهُم مِّنۡ خَشۡيَتِهِۦ مُشۡفِقُونَ
21:28play_arrow
Ya’lamu maa baina aideehim wa maa khalfahum wa laa yashfa’oona illaa limanir tadaa wa hum min khash yatihee mushfiqoon
Sahih International:
He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they cannot intercede except on behalf of one whom He approves. And they, from fear of Him, are apprehensive.

۞وَمَن يَقُلۡ مِنۡهُمۡ إِنِّيٓ إِلَٰهٞ مِّن دُونِهِۦ فَذَٰلِكَ نَجۡزِيهِ جَهَنَّمَۚ كَذَٰلِكَ نَجۡزِي ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
21:29play_arrow
Wa mai yaqul minhum inneee ilaahum min doonihee fazaalika najzeehi Jahannam; kazaalika najziz zaalimeen (section 2)
Sahih International:
And whoever of them should say, “Indeed, I am a god besides Him”- that one We would recompense with Hell. Thus do We recompense the wrongdoers.

أَوَلَمۡ يَرَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ أَنَّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ كَانَتَا رَتۡقٗا فَفَتَقۡنَٰهُمَاۖ وَجَعَلۡنَا مِنَ ٱلۡمَآءِ كُلَّ شَيۡءٍ حَيٍّۚ أَفَلَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ
21:30play_arrow
Awalam yaral lazeena kafarooo annas samaawaati wal arda kaanataa ratqan fafataqnaa humaa wa ja’alnaa minal maaa’i kulla shai’in haiyin afalaa yu’minoon
Sahih International:
Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, and We separated them and made from water every living thing? Then will they not believe?

وَجَعَلۡنَا فِي ٱلۡأَرۡضِ رَوَٰسِيَ أَن تَمِيدَ بِهِمۡ وَجَعَلۡنَا فِيهَا فِجَاجٗا سُبُلٗا لَّعَلَّهُمۡ يَهۡتَدُونَ
21:31play_arrow
Wa ja’alnaa fil ardi rawaasiya an tameeda bihim wa ja’alnaa feehaa fijaajan subulal la’allahum yahtadoon
Sahih International:
And We placed within the earth firmly set mountains, lest it should shift with them, and We made therein [mountain] passes [as] roads that they might be guided.

وَجَعَلۡنَا ٱلسَّمَآءَ سَقۡفٗا مَّحۡفُوظٗاۖ وَهُمۡ عَنۡ ءَايَٰتِهَا مُعۡرِضُونَ
21:32play_arrow
Wa ja’alnas samaaa’a saqfam mahfoozanw wa hum ‘an Aayaatihaa mu’ridoon
Sahih International:
And We made the sky a protected ceiling, but they, from its signs, are turning away.

وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِي خَلَقَ ٱلَّيۡلَ وَٱلنَّهَارَ وَٱلشَّمۡسَ وَٱلۡقَمَرَۖ كُلّٞ فِي فَلَكٖ يَسۡبَحُونَ
21:33play_arrow
Wa Huwal lazee khalaqal laila wannahaara washshamsa wal qamara kullun fee falakiny yasbahoon
Sahih International:
And it is He who created the night and the day and the sun and the moon; all [heavenly bodies] in an orbit are swimming.

وَمَا جَعَلۡنَا لِبَشَرٖ مِّن قَبۡلِكَ ٱلۡخُلۡدَۖ أَفَإِيْن مِّتَّ فَهُمُ ٱلۡخَٰلِدُونَ
21:34play_arrow
Wa maa ja’alnaa libasharim min qablikal khuld; afa immitta fahumul khaalidoon
Sahih International:
And We did not grant to any man before you eternity [on earth]; so if you die – would they be eternal?

كُلُّ نَفۡسٖ ذَآئِقَةُ ٱلۡمَوۡتِۗ وَنَبۡلُوكُم بِٱلشَّرِّ وَٱلۡخَيۡرِ فِتۡنَةٗۖ وَإِلَيۡنَا تُرۡجَعُونَ
21:35play_arrow
Kullu nafsin zaaa’iqatul mawt; wa nablookum bi sharri walkhairi fitnatanw wa ilainaa turja’oon
Sahih International:
Every soul will taste death. And We test you with evil and with good as trial; and to Us you will be returned.

وَإِذَا رَءَاكَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓاْ إِن يَتَّخِذُونَكَ إِلَّا هُزُوًا أَهَٰذَا ٱلَّذِي يَذۡكُرُ ءَالِهَتَكُمۡ وَهُم بِذِكۡرِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ هُمۡ كَٰفِرُونَ
21:36play_arrow
Wa izaa ra aakal lazeena kafarooo iny-yattakhizoonaka illa huzuwan; ahaazal lazee yazkuru aalihatakum wa hum bi zikrir Rahmaani hum kaafiroon
Sahih International:
And when those who disbelieve see you, [O Muhammad], they take you not except in ridicule, [saying], “Is this the one who insults your gods?” And they are, at the mention of the Most Merciful, disbelievers.

خُلِقَ ٱلۡإِنسَٰنُ مِنۡ عَجَلٖۚ سَأُوْرِيكُمۡ ءَايَٰتِي فَلَا تَسۡتَعۡجِلُونِ
21:37play_arrow
Khuliqal insaanu min ‘ajal; sa ureekum Aayaatee falaa tasta’jiloon
Sahih International:
Man was created of haste. I will show you My signs, so do not impatiently urge Me.

وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَٰذَا ٱلۡوَعۡدُ إِن كُنتُمۡ صَٰدِقِينَ
21:38play_arrow
Wa yaqooloona mataa haazal wa’du in kuntum saadiqeen
Sahih International:
And they say, “When is this promise, if you should be truthful?”

لَوۡ يَعۡلَمُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ حِينَ لَا يَكُفُّونَ عَن وُجُوهِهِمُ ٱلنَّارَ وَلَا عَن ظُهُورِهِمۡ وَلَا هُمۡ يُنصَرُونَ
21:39play_arrow
Law ya’lamul lazeena kafaroo heena laa yakuffoona ‘anw wujoohihimun Naara wa laa ‘an zuhoorihim wa laa hum yunsaroon
Sahih International:
If those who disbelieved but knew the time when they will not avert the Fire from their faces or from their backs and they will not be aided…

بَلۡ تَأۡتِيهِم بَغۡتَةٗ فَتَبۡهَتُهُمۡ فَلَا يَسۡتَطِيعُونَ رَدَّهَا وَلَا هُمۡ يُنظَرُونَ
21:40play_arrow
Bal ta’teehim baghtatan fatabhatuhum falaa yastatee’oona raddahaa wa laa hum yunzaroon
Sahih International:
Rather, it will come to them unexpectedly and bewilder them, and they will not be able to repel it, nor will they be reprieved.

وَلَقَدِ ٱسۡتُهۡزِئَ بِرُسُلٖ مِّن قَبۡلِكَ فَحَاقَ بِٱلَّذِينَ سَخِرُواْ مِنۡهُم مَّا كَانُواْ بِهِۦ يَسۡتَهۡزِءُونَ
21:41play_arrow
Wa laqadis tuhzi’a bi-Rusulim min qablika fahaaqa billazeena sakhiroo minhum maa kaanoo bihee yastahzi’oon (section 3)
Sahih International:
And already were messengers ridiculed before you, but those who mocked them were enveloped by what they used to ridicule.

قُلۡ مَن يَكۡلَؤُكُم بِٱلَّيۡلِ وَٱلنَّهَارِ مِنَ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِۚ بَلۡ هُمۡ عَن ذِكۡرِ رَبِّهِم مُّعۡرِضُونَ
21:42play_arrow
Qul mai yakla ‘ukum billaili wannahaari minar Rahmaan; bal hum ‘an zikri Rabbihim mu’ridoon
Sahih International:
Say, “Who can protect you at night or by day from the Most Merciful?” But they are, from the remembrance of their Lord, turning away.

أَمۡ لَهُمۡ ءَالِهَةٞ تَمۡنَعُهُم مِّن دُونِنَاۚ لَا يَسۡتَطِيعُونَ نَصۡرَ أَنفُسِهِمۡ وَلَا هُم مِّنَّا يُصۡحَبُونَ
21:43play_arrow
Am lahum aalihatun tamna’uhum min dooninaa; laa yastatee’oona nasra anfusihim wa laa hum minna yus-haboon
Sahih International:
Or do they have gods to defend them other than Us? They are unable [even] to help themselves, nor can they be protected from Us.

بَلۡ مَتَّعۡنَا هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ وَءَابَآءَهُمۡ حَتَّىٰ طَالَ عَلَيۡهِمُ ٱلۡعُمُرُۗ أَفَلَا يَرَوۡنَ أَنَّا نَأۡتِي ٱلۡأَرۡضَ نَنقُصُهَا مِنۡ أَطۡرَافِهَآۚ أَفَهُمُ ٱلۡغَٰلِبُونَ
21:44play_arrow
Bal matta’naa haaa’ulaaa’i wa aabaaa’ahum hattaa taala ‘alaihimul ‘umur; afalaa yarawna anna na’til arda nanqusuhaa min atraafihaa; afahumul ghaaliboon
Sahih International:
But, [on the contrary], We have provided good things for these [disbelievers] and their fathers until life was prolonged for them. Then do they not see that We set upon the land, reducing it from its borders? So it is they who will overcome?

قُلۡ إِنَّمَآ أُنذِرُكُم بِٱلۡوَحۡيِۚ وَلَا يَسۡمَعُ ٱلصُّمُّ ٱلدُّعَآءَ إِذَا مَا يُنذَرُونَ
21:45play_arrow
Qul innamaaa unzirukum bilwahyi; wa laa yasma’us summud du’aaa ‘a izaa maa yunzaroon
Sahih International:
Say, “I only warn you by revelation.” But the deaf do not hear the call when they are warned.

وَلَئِن مَّسَّتۡهُمۡ نَفۡحَةٞ مِّنۡ عَذَابِ رَبِّكَ لَيَقُولُنَّ يَٰوَيۡلَنَآ إِنَّا كُنَّا ظَٰلِمِينَ
21:46play_arrow
Wa la’in massat hum nafhatun min ‘azaabi Rabbika la yaqoolunna yaawailanaaa innnaa kunnaa zaalimeen
Sahih International:
And if [as much as] a whiff of the punishment of your Lord should touch them, they would surely say, “O woe to us! Indeed, we have been wrongdoers.”

وَنَضَعُ ٱلۡمَوَٰزِينَ ٱلۡقِسۡطَ لِيَوۡمِ ٱلۡقِيَٰمَةِ فَلَا تُظۡلَمُ نَفۡسٞ شَيۡـٔٗاۖ وَإِن كَانَ مِثۡقَالَ حَبَّةٖ مِّنۡ خَرۡدَلٍ أَتَيۡنَا بِهَاۗ وَكَفَىٰ بِنَا حَٰسِبِينَ
21:47play_arrow
Wa nada’ul mawaazeenal qista li Yawmil Qiyaamati falaa tuzlamu nafsun shai’aa; wa in kaana misqaala habbatim min khardalin atainaa bihaa; wa kafaa binaa haasibeen
Sahih International:
And We place the scales of justice for the Day of Resurrection, so no soul will be treated unjustly at all. And if there is [even] the weight of a mustard seed, We will bring it forth. And sufficient are We as accountant.

وَلَقَدۡ ءَاتَيۡنَا مُوسَىٰ وَهَٰرُونَ ٱلۡفُرۡقَانَ وَضِيَآءٗ وَذِكۡرٗا لِّلۡمُتَّقِينَ
21:48play_arrow
Wa laqad aatainaa Moosa wa haaroonal Furqaana wa diyaa’anw wa zikral lilmuttaqeen
Sahih International:
And We had already given Moses and Aaron the criterion and a light and a reminder for the righteous

ٱلَّذِينَ يَخۡشَوۡنَ رَبَّهُم بِٱلۡغَيۡبِ وَهُم مِّنَ ٱلسَّاعَةِ مُشۡفِقُونَ
21:49play_arrow
Allazeena yakhshawna Rabbahum bilghaibi wa hum minas Saa’ati mushfiqoon
Sahih International:
Who fear their Lord unseen, while they are of the Hour apprehensive.

وَهَٰذَا ذِكۡرٞ مُّبَارَكٌ أَنزَلۡنَٰهُۚ أَفَأَنتُمۡ لَهُۥ مُنكِرُونَ
21:50play_arrow
Wa haazaa Zikrum Mubaarakun anzalnaah; afa antum lahoo munkiroon (section 4)
Sahih International:
And this [Qur’an] is a blessed message which We have sent down. Then are you with it unacquainted?

۞وَلَقَدۡ ءَاتَيۡنَآ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ رُشۡدَهُۥ مِن قَبۡلُ وَكُنَّا بِهِۦ عَٰلِمِينَ
21:51play_arrow
Wa laqad aatainaaa Ibraaheema rushdahoo min qablu wa kunnaa bihee ‘aalimeen
Sahih International:
And We had certainly given Abraham his sound judgement before, and We were of him well-Knowing

إِذۡ قَالَ لِأَبِيهِ وَقَوۡمِهِۦ مَا هَٰذِهِ ٱلتَّمَاثِيلُ ٱلَّتِيٓ أَنتُمۡ لَهَا عَٰكِفُونَ
21:52play_arrow
Iz qaala li abeehi wa qawmihee maa haazihit tamaaseelul lateee antum lahaa ‘aakifoon
Sahih International:
When he said to his father and his people, “What are these statues to which you are devoted?”

قَالُواْ وَجَدۡنَآ ءَابَآءَنَا لَهَا عَٰبِدِينَ
21:53play_arrow
Qaaloo wajadnaaa aabaaa’anaa lahaa ‘aabideen
Sahih International:
They said, “We found our fathers worshippers of them.”

قَالَ لَقَدۡ كُنتُمۡ أَنتُمۡ وَءَابَآؤُكُمۡ فِي ضَلَٰلٖ مُّبِينٖ
21:54play_arrow
Qaala laqad kuntum antum wa aabaaa’ukum fee dalaalin mubeen
Sahih International:
He said, “You were certainly, you and your fathers, in manifest error.”

قَالُوٓاْ أَجِئۡتَنَا بِٱلۡحَقِّ أَمۡ أَنتَ مِنَ ٱللَّـٰعِبِينَ
21:55play_arrow
Qaalooo aji’tanaa bil haqqi am anta minal laa’ibeen
Sahih International:
They said, “Have you come to us with truth, or are you of those who jest?”

قَالَ بَل رَّبُّكُمۡ رَبُّ ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ ٱلَّذِي فَطَرَهُنَّ وَأَنَا۠ عَلَىٰ ذَٰلِكُم مِّنَ ٱلشَّـٰهِدِينَ
21:56play_arrow
Qaala bar Rabbukum Rabbus samaawaati wal ardil lazee fatarahunna wa ana ‘alaa zaalikum minash shaahideen
Sahih International:
He said, “[No], rather, your Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth who created them, and I, to that, am of those who testify.

وَتَٱللَّهِ لَأَكِيدَنَّ أَصۡنَٰمَكُم بَعۡدَ أَن تُوَلُّواْ مُدۡبِرِينَ
21:57play_arrow
Wa tallaahi la akeedanna asnaamakum ba’da an tuwalloo mudbireen
Sahih International:
And [I swear] by Allah, I will surely plan against your idols after you have turned and gone away.”

فَجَعَلَهُمۡ جُذَٰذًا إِلَّا كَبِيرٗا لَّهُمۡ لَعَلَّهُمۡ إِلَيۡهِ يَرۡجِعُونَ
21:58play_arrow
Faja’alahum juzaazan illaa kabeeral lahum la’allahum ilaihi yarji’oon
Sahih International:
So he made them into fragments, except a large one among them, that they might return to it [and question].

قَالُواْ مَن فَعَلَ هَٰذَا بِـَٔالِهَتِنَآ إِنَّهُۥ لَمِنَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
21:59play_arrow
Qaaloo man fa’ala haazaa bi aalihatinaaa innahoo laminaz zaalimeen
Sahih International:
They said, “Who has done this to our gods? Indeed, he is of the wrongdoers.”

قَالُواْ سَمِعۡنَا فَتٗى يَذۡكُرُهُمۡ يُقَالُ لَهُۥٓ إِبۡرَٰهِيمُ
21:60play_arrow
Qaaloo sami’naa fatany yazkuruhum yuqaalu lahooo Ibraaheem
Sahih International:
They said, “We heard a young man mention them who is called Abraham.”

قَالُواْ فَأۡتُواْ بِهِۦ عَلَىٰٓ أَعۡيُنِ ٱلنَّاسِ لَعَلَّهُمۡ يَشۡهَدُونَ
21:61play_arrow
Qaaloo fa’too bihee ‘alaaa a’yunin naasi la’allahum yash hadoon
Sahih International:
They said, “Then bring him before the eyes of the people that they may testify.”

قَالُوٓاْ ءَأَنتَ فَعَلۡتَ هَٰذَا بِـَٔالِهَتِنَا يَـٰٓإِبۡرَٰهِيمُ
21:62play_arrow
Qaalooo ‘a-anta fa’alta haazaa bi aalihatinaa yaaa Ibraaheem
Sahih International:
They said, “Have you done this to our gods, O Abraham?”

قَالَ بَلۡ فَعَلَهُۥ كَبِيرُهُمۡ هَٰذَا فَسۡـَٔلُوهُمۡ إِن كَانُواْ يَنطِقُونَ
21:63play_arrow
Qaala bal fa’alahoo kabeeruhum haazaa fas’aloohum in kaanoo yantiqoon
Sahih International:
He said, “Rather, this – the largest of them – did it, so ask them, if they should [be able to] speak.”

فَرَجَعُوٓاْ إِلَىٰٓ أَنفُسِهِمۡ فَقَالُوٓاْ إِنَّكُمۡ أَنتُمُ ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ
21:64play_arrow
Faraja’ooo ilaaa anfusihim faqaalooo innakum antumuz zaalimoon
Sahih International:
So they returned to [blaming] themselves and said [to each other], “Indeed, you are the wrongdoers.”

ثُمَّ نُكِسُواْ عَلَىٰ رُءُوسِهِمۡ لَقَدۡ عَلِمۡتَ مَا هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ يَنطِقُونَ
21:65play_arrow
Summa nukisoo ‘alaa ru’oosihim laqad ‘alimta maa haaa’ulaaa’i yantiqoon
Sahih International:
Then they reversed themselves, [saying], “You have already known that these do not speak!”

قَالَ أَفَتَعۡبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ مَا لَا يَنفَعُكُمۡ شَيۡـٔٗا وَلَا يَضُرُّكُمۡ
21:66play_arrow
Qaala afata’budoona min doonil laahi maa laa yanfa’ukum shai’anw wa laa yadurrukum
Sahih International:
He said, “Then do you worship instead of Allah that which does not benefit you at all or harm you?

أُفّٖ لَّكُمۡ وَلِمَا تَعۡبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِۚ أَفَلَا تَعۡقِلُونَ
21:67play_arrow
Uffil lakum wa limaa ta’budoona min doonil laah; afalaa ta’qiloon
Sahih International:
Uff to you and to what you worship instead of Allah. Then will you not use reason?”

قَالُواْ حَرِّقُوهُ وَٱنصُرُوٓاْ ءَالِهَتَكُمۡ إِن كُنتُمۡ فَٰعِلِينَ
21:68play_arrow
Qaaloo harriqoohu wansurooo aalihatakum in kuntum faa’ileen
Sahih International:
They said, “Burn him and support your gods – if you are to act.”

قُلۡنَا يَٰنَارُ كُونِي بَرۡدٗا وَسَلَٰمًا عَلَىٰٓ إِبۡرَٰهِيمَ
21:69play_arrow
Qulnaa yaa naaru koonee bardanw wa salaaman ‘alaaa Ibraaheem
Sahih International:
Allah said, “O fire, be coolness and safety upon Abraham.”

وَأَرَادُواْ بِهِۦ كَيۡدٗا فَجَعَلۡنَٰهُمُ ٱلۡأَخۡسَرِينَ
21:70play_arrow
Wa araadoo bihee kaidan faja’alnaahumul akhsareen
Sahih International:
And they intended for him harm, but We made them the greatest losers.

وَنَجَّيۡنَٰهُ وَلُوطًا إِلَى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ ٱلَّتِي بَٰرَكۡنَا فِيهَا لِلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
21:71play_arrow
Wa najjainaahu wa Lootan ilal ardil latee baaraknaa feehaa lil ‘aalameen
Sahih International:
And We delivered him and Lot to the land which We had blessed for the worlds.

وَوَهَبۡنَا لَهُۥٓ إِسۡحَٰقَ وَيَعۡقُوبَ نَافِلَةٗۖ وَكُلّٗا جَعَلۡنَا صَٰلِحِينَ
21:72play_arrow
Wa wahabnaa lahooo Ishaaqa; wa Ya’qooba naafilah; wa kullan ja’alnaa saaliheen
Sahih International:
And We gave him Isaac and Jacob in addition, and all [of them] We made righteous.

وَجَعَلۡنَٰهُمۡ أَئِمَّةٗ يَهۡدُونَ بِأَمۡرِنَا وَأَوۡحَيۡنَآ إِلَيۡهِمۡ فِعۡلَ ٱلۡخَيۡرَٰتِ وَإِقَامَ ٱلصَّلَوٰةِ وَإِيتَآءَ ٱلزَّكَوٰةِۖ وَكَانُواْ لَنَا عَٰبِدِينَ
21:73play_arrow
Wa ja’alnaahum a’immatany yahdoona bi amrinaa wa awhainaaa ilaihim fi’lal khairaati wa iqaamas Salaati wa eetaaa’az Zakaati wa kaanoo lanaa ‘aabideen
Sahih International:
And We made them leaders guiding by Our command. And We inspired to them the doing of good deeds, establishment of prayer, and giving of zakah; and they were worshippers of Us.

وَلُوطًا ءَاتَيۡنَٰهُ حُكۡمٗا وَعِلۡمٗا وَنَجَّيۡنَٰهُ مِنَ ٱلۡقَرۡيَةِ ٱلَّتِي كَانَت تَّعۡمَلُ ٱلۡخَبَـٰٓئِثَۚ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ قَوۡمَ سَوۡءٖ فَٰسِقِينَ
21:74play_arrow
Wa Lootan aatainaahu hukmanw wa ‘ilmanw wa najjainaahu minal qaryatil latee kaanat ta’malul khabaaa’is; innahum kaanoo qawma saw’in faasiqeen
Sahih International:
And to Lot We gave judgement and knowledge, and We saved him from the city that was committing wicked deeds. Indeed, they were a people of evil, defiantly disobedient.

وَأَدۡخَلۡنَٰهُ فِي رَحۡمَتِنَآۖ إِنَّهُۥ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
21:75play_arrow
Wa adkhalnaahu fee rahmatinaa innahoo minas saaliheen (section 5)
Sahih International:
And We admitted him into Our mercy. Indeed, he was of the righteous.

وَنُوحًا إِذۡ نَادَىٰ مِن قَبۡلُ فَٱسۡتَجَبۡنَا لَهُۥ فَنَجَّيۡنَٰهُ وَأَهۡلَهُۥ مِنَ ٱلۡكَرۡبِ ٱلۡعَظِيمِ
21:76play_arrow
Wa noohan iz naadaa min qablu fastajabnaa lahoo fanajjainaahu wa ahlahoo minal karbil ‘azeem
Sahih International:
And [mention] Noah, when he called [to Allah] before [that time], so We responded to him and saved him and his family from the great flood.

وَنَصَرۡنَٰهُ مِنَ ٱلۡقَوۡمِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآۚ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ قَوۡمَ سَوۡءٖ فَأَغۡرَقۡنَٰهُمۡ أَجۡمَعِينَ
21:77play_arrow
Wa nasarnaahu minal qawmil lazeena kazzaboo bi Aayaatinaa; innahum kaanoo qawma saw’in fa-aghraq naahum ajma’een
Sahih International:
And We saved him from the people who denied Our signs. Indeed, they were a people of evil, so We drowned them, all together.

وَدَاوُۥدَ وَسُلَيۡمَٰنَ إِذۡ يَحۡكُمَانِ فِي ٱلۡحَرۡثِ إِذۡ نَفَشَتۡ فِيهِ غَنَمُ ٱلۡقَوۡمِ وَكُنَّا لِحُكۡمِهِمۡ شَٰهِدِينَ
21:78play_arrow
Wa Daawooda wa Sulaimaana iz yahkumaani fil harsi iz nafashat feehi ghanamul qawmi wa kunnaa lihukmihim shaahideen
Sahih International:
And [mention] David and Solomon, when they judged concerning the field – when the sheep of a people overran it [at night], and We were witness to their judgement.

فَفَهَّمۡنَٰهَا سُلَيۡمَٰنَۚ وَكُلًّا ءَاتَيۡنَا حُكۡمٗا وَعِلۡمٗاۚ وَسَخَّرۡنَا مَعَ دَاوُۥدَ ٱلۡجِبَالَ يُسَبِّحۡنَ وَٱلطَّيۡرَۚ وَكُنَّا فَٰعِلِينَ
21:79play_arrow
Fafahhamnaahaa sulaimaan; wa kullan aatainaa hukmanw wa’ilmanw wa sakh kharnaa ma’a Daawoodal jibaala yusabbihna wattayr; wa kunnaa faa’ileen
Sahih International:
And We gave understanding of the case to Solomon, and to each [of them] We gave judgement and knowledge. And We subjected the mountains to exalt [Us], along with David and [also] the birds. And We were doing [that].

وَعَلَّمۡنَٰهُ صَنۡعَةَ لَبُوسٖ لَّكُمۡ لِتُحۡصِنَكُم مِّنۢ بَأۡسِكُمۡۖ فَهَلۡ أَنتُمۡ شَٰكِرُونَ
21:80play_arrow
Wa ‘allamanaahu san’ata laboosil lakum lituhsinakum min ba’sikum fahal antum shaakiroon
Sahih International:
And We taught him the fashioning of coats of armor to protect you from your [enemy in] battle. So will you then be grateful?

وَلِسُلَيۡمَٰنَ ٱلرِّيحَ عَاصِفَةٗ تَجۡرِي بِأَمۡرِهِۦٓ إِلَى ٱلۡأَرۡضِ ٱلَّتِي بَٰرَكۡنَا فِيهَاۚ وَكُنَّا بِكُلِّ شَيۡءٍ عَٰلِمِينَ
21:81play_arrow
Wa li Sulaimaanar reeha ‘aasifatan tajree bi amriheee ilal ardil latee baaraknaa feehaa; wa kunnaa bikulli shai’in ‘aalimeen
Sahih International:
And to Solomon [We subjected] the wind, blowing forcefully, proceeding by his command toward the land which We had blessed. And We are ever, of all things, Knowing.

وَمِنَ ٱلشَّيَٰطِينِ مَن يَغُوصُونَ لَهُۥ وَيَعۡمَلُونَ عَمَلٗا دُونَ ذَٰلِكَۖ وَكُنَّا لَهُمۡ حَٰفِظِينَ
21:82play_arrow
Wa minash Shayaateeni mai yaghoosoona lahoo wa ya’maloona ‘amalan doona zaalika wa kunna lahum haafizeen
Sahih International:
And of the devils were those who dived for him and did work other than that. And We were of them a guardian.

۞وَأَيُّوبَ إِذۡ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُۥٓ أَنِّي مَسَّنِيَ ٱلضُّرُّ وَأَنتَ أَرۡحَمُ ٱلرَّـٰحِمِينَ
21:83play_arrow
Wa Ayyooba iz naadaa Rabbahooo annee massaniyad durru wa Anta arhamur raahimeen
Sahih International:
And [mention] Job, when he called to his Lord, “Indeed, adversity has touched me, and you are the Most Merciful of the merciful.”

فَٱسۡتَجَبۡنَا لَهُۥ فَكَشَفۡنَا مَا بِهِۦ مِن ضُرّٖۖ وَءَاتَيۡنَٰهُ أَهۡلَهُۥ وَمِثۡلَهُم مَّعَهُمۡ رَحۡمَةٗ مِّنۡ عِندِنَا وَذِكۡرَىٰ لِلۡعَٰبِدِينَ
21:84play_arrow
Fastajabnaa lahoo fakashaf naa maa bihee min durrinw wa aatainaahu ahlahoo wa mislahum ma’ahum rahmatan min ‘indinaa wa zikraa lil’aabideen
Sahih International:
So We responded to him and removed what afflicted him of adversity. And We gave him [back] his family and the like thereof with them as mercy from Us and a reminder for the worshippers [of Allah].

وَإِسۡمَٰعِيلَ وَإِدۡرِيسَ وَذَا ٱلۡكِفۡلِۖ كُلّٞ مِّنَ ٱلصَّـٰبِرِينَ
21:85play_arrow
Wa Ismaa’eela wa Idreesa wa Zal Kifli kullum minas saabireen
Sahih International:
And [mention] Ishmael and Idrees and Dhul-Kifl; all were of the patient.

وَأَدۡخَلۡنَٰهُمۡ فِي رَحۡمَتِنَآۖ إِنَّهُم مِّنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحِينَ
21:86play_arrow
Wa adkhalnaahum fee rahmatinaa innahum minas saaliheen
Sahih International:
And We admitted them into Our mercy. Indeed, they were of the righteous.

وَذَا ٱلنُّونِ إِذ ذَّهَبَ مُغَٰضِبٗا فَظَنَّ أَن لَّن نَّقۡدِرَ عَلَيۡهِ فَنَادَىٰ فِي ٱلظُّلُمَٰتِ أَن لَّآ إِلَٰهَ إِلَّآ أَنتَ سُبۡحَٰنَكَ إِنِّي كُنتُ مِنَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمِينَ
21:87play_arrow
Wa Zan Nooni iz zahaba mughaadiban fa zannaa al lan naqdira ‘alaihi fanaadaa fiz zulumaati al laaa ilaaha illaaa Anta Subhaanaka innee kuntu minaz zaalimeen
Sahih International:
And [mention] the man of the fish, when he went off in anger and thought that We would not decree [anything] upon him. And he called out within the darknesses, “There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers.”

فَٱسۡتَجَبۡنَا لَهُۥ وَنَجَّيۡنَٰهُ مِنَ ٱلۡغَمِّۚ وَكَذَٰلِكَ نُـۨجِي ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ
21:88play_arrow
Fastajabnaa lahoo wa najjainaahu minal ghamm; wa kazaalika nunjil mu’mineen
Sahih International:
So We responded to him and saved him from the distress. And thus do We save the believers.

وَزَكَرِيَّآ إِذۡ نَادَىٰ رَبَّهُۥ رَبِّ لَا تَذَرۡنِي فَرۡدٗا وَأَنتَ خَيۡرُ ٱلۡوَٰرِثِينَ
21:89play_arrow
Wa Zakariyyaaa iz naadaa Rabbahoo Rabbi laa tazarnee fardanw wa Anta khairul waariseen
Sahih International:
And [mention] Zechariah, when he called to his Lord, “My Lord, do not leave me alone [with no heir], while you are the best of inheritors.”

فَٱسۡتَجَبۡنَا لَهُۥ وَوَهَبۡنَا لَهُۥ يَحۡيَىٰ وَأَصۡلَحۡنَا لَهُۥ زَوۡجَهُۥٓۚ إِنَّهُمۡ كَانُواْ يُسَٰرِعُونَ فِي ٱلۡخَيۡرَٰتِ وَيَدۡعُونَنَا رَغَبٗا وَرَهَبٗاۖ وَكَانُواْ لَنَا خَٰشِعِينَ
21:90play_arrow
Fastajabnaa lahoo wa wahabnaa lahoo Yahyaa Wa aslahnaa lahoo zawjah; innahum kaanoo yusaari’oona fil khairaati wa yad’oonanaa raghabanw wa rahabaa; wa kaanoo lanaa khaashi’een
Sahih International:
So We responded to him, and We gave to him John, and amended for him his wife. Indeed, they used to hasten to good deeds and supplicate Us in hope and fear, and they were to Us humbly submissive.

وَٱلَّتِيٓ أَحۡصَنَتۡ فَرۡجَهَا فَنَفَخۡنَا فِيهَا مِن رُّوحِنَا وَجَعَلۡنَٰهَا وَٱبۡنَهَآ ءَايَةٗ لِّلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
21:91play_arrow
Wallateee ahsanat farjahaa fanafakhnaa feehaa min roohinaa wa ja’alnaahaa wabnahaaa Aayatan lil’aalameen
Sahih International:
And [mention] the one who guarded her chastity, so We blew into her [garment] through Our angel [Gabriel], and We made her and her son a sign for the worlds.

إِنَّ هَٰذِهِۦٓ أُمَّتُكُمۡ أُمَّةٗ وَٰحِدَةٗ وَأَنَا۠ رَبُّكُمۡ فَٱعۡبُدُونِ
21:92play_arrow
Inna haaziheee ummatukum ummatanw waahidatanw wa Ana Rabbukum fa’budoon
Sahih International:
Indeed this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so worship Me.

وَتَقَطَّعُوٓاْ أَمۡرَهُم بَيۡنَهُمۡۖ كُلٌّ إِلَيۡنَا رَٰجِعُونَ
21:93play_arrow
Wa taqatta’ooo amrahum bainahum kullun ilainaaa raaji’oon (section 6)
Sahih International:
And [yet] they divided their affair among themselves, [but] all to Us will return.

فَمَن يَعۡمَلۡ مِنَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَٰتِ وَهُوَ مُؤۡمِنٞ فَلَا كُفۡرَانَ لِسَعۡيِهِۦ وَإِنَّا لَهُۥ كَٰتِبُونَ
21:94play_arrow
Famai ya’mal minas saalihaati wa huwa mu’minun falaa kufraana lisa’yihee wa innaa lahoo kaatiboon
Sahih International:
So whoever does righteous deeds while he is a believer – no denial will there be for his effort, and indeed We, of it, are recorders.

وَحَرَٰمٌ عَلَىٰ قَرۡيَةٍ أَهۡلَكۡنَٰهَآ أَنَّهُمۡ لَا يَرۡجِعُونَ
21:95play_arrow
Wa haraamun ‘alaa qaryatin ahlaknaahaaa annahum laa yarji’oon
Sahih International:
And there is prohibition upon [the people of] a city which We have destroyed that they will [ever] return

حَتَّىٰٓ إِذَا فُتِحَتۡ يَأۡجُوجُ وَمَأۡجُوجُ وَهُم مِّن كُلِّ حَدَبٖ يَنسِلُونَ
21:96play_arrow
Hattaaa izaa futihat Ya’jooju wa Ma’jooju wa hum min kulli hadabiny yansiloon
Sahih International:
Until when [the dam of] Gog and Magog has been opened and they, from every elevation, descend

وَٱقۡتَرَبَ ٱلۡوَعۡدُ ٱلۡحَقُّ فَإِذَا هِيَ شَٰخِصَةٌ أَبۡصَٰرُ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ يَٰوَيۡلَنَا قَدۡ كُنَّا فِي غَفۡلَةٖ مِّنۡ هَٰذَا بَلۡ كُنَّا ظَٰلِمِينَ
21:97play_arrow
Waqtarabal wa’dul haqqu fa-izaa hiya shaakhisatun absaarul lazeena kafaroo yaawailanaa qad kunna fee ghaflatin min haaza bal kunnaa zaalimeen
Sahih International:
And [when] the true promise has approached; then suddenly the eyes of those who disbelieved will be staring [in horror, while they say], “O woe to us; we had been unmindful of this; rather, we were wrongdoers.”

إِنَّكُمۡ وَمَا تَعۡبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ حَصَبُ جَهَنَّمَ أَنتُمۡ لَهَا وَٰرِدُونَ
21:98play_arrow
Innakum wa maa ta’budoona min doonil laahi hasabu Jahannama antum lahaa waaridoon
Sahih International:
Indeed, you [disbelievers] and what you worship other than Allah are the firewood of Hell. You will be coming to [enter] it.

لَوۡ كَانَ هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ ءَالِهَةٗ مَّا وَرَدُوهَاۖ وَكُلّٞ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ
21:99play_arrow
Law kaana haaa’ulaaa’i aalihatan maa waradoohaa wa kullun feehaa khaalidoon
Sahih International:
Had these [false deities] been [actual] gods, they would not have come to it, but all are eternal therein.

لَهُمۡ فِيهَا زَفِيرٞ وَهُمۡ فِيهَا لَا يَسۡمَعُونَ
21:100play_arrow
Lahum feehaa zafeerunw wa hum feehaa laa yasma’oon
Sahih International:
For them therein is heavy sighing, and they therein will not hear.

إِنَّ ٱلَّذِينَ سَبَقَتۡ لَهُم مِّنَّا ٱلۡحُسۡنَىٰٓ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ عَنۡهَا مُبۡعَدُونَ
21:101play_arrow
Innal lazeena sabaqat lahum minnal husnaaa ulaaa’ika ‘anhaa mub’adoon
Sahih International:
Indeed, those for whom the best [reward] has preceded from Us – they are from it far removed.

لَا يَسۡمَعُونَ حَسِيسَهَاۖ وَهُمۡ فِي مَا ٱشۡتَهَتۡ أَنفُسُهُمۡ خَٰلِدُونَ
21:102play_arrow
Laa yasma’oona hasee sahaa wa hum fee mash tahat anfusuhum khaalidoon
Sahih International:
They will not hear its sound, while they are, in that which their souls desire, abiding eternally.

لَا يَحۡزُنُهُمُ ٱلۡفَزَعُ ٱلۡأَكۡبَرُ وَتَتَلَقَّىٰهُمُ ٱلۡمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ هَٰذَا يَوۡمُكُمُ ٱلَّذِي كُنتُمۡ تُوعَدُونَ
21:103play_arrow
Laa yahzunuhumul faza’ul akbaru wa tatalaq qaahumul malaaa’ikatu haazaa Yawmukumul lazee kuntum too’adoon
Sahih International:
They will not be grieved by the greatest terror, and the angels will meet them, [saying], “This is your Day which you have been promised” –

يَوۡمَ نَطۡوِي ٱلسَّمَآءَ كَطَيِّ ٱلسِّجِلِّ لِلۡكُتُبِۚ كَمَا بَدَأۡنَآ أَوَّلَ خَلۡقٖ نُّعِيدُهُۥۚ وَعۡدًا عَلَيۡنَآۚ إِنَّا كُنَّا فَٰعِلِينَ
21:104play_arrow
Yawma natwis samaaa’a kataiyis sijilli lilkutub; kamaa bada’naa awwala khalqin nu’eeduh; wa’dan ‘alainaa; innaa kunna faa’ileen
Sahih International:
The Day when We will fold the heaven like the folding of a [written] sheet for the records. As We began the first creation, We will repeat it. [That is] a promise binding upon Us. Indeed, We will do it.

وَلَقَدۡ كَتَبۡنَا فِي ٱلزَّبُورِ مِنۢ بَعۡدِ ٱلذِّكۡرِ أَنَّ ٱلۡأَرۡضَ يَرِثُهَا عِبَادِيَ ٱلصَّـٰلِحُونَ
21:105play_arrow
Wa laqad katabnaa fiz Zaboori min ba’diz zikri annal arda yarisuhaa ‘ibaadi yas saalihoon
Sahih International:
And We have already written in the book [of Psalms] after the [previous] mention that the land [of Paradise] is inherited by My righteous servants.

إِنَّ فِي هَٰذَا لَبَلَٰغٗا لِّقَوۡمٍ عَٰبِدِينَ
21:106play_arrow
Inna fee haaza labalaa ghal liqawmin ‘aabideen
Sahih International:
Indeed, in this [Qur’an] is notification for a worshipping people.

وَمَآ أَرۡسَلۡنَٰكَ إِلَّا رَحۡمَةٗ لِّلۡعَٰلَمِينَ
21:107play_arrow
Wa maaa arsalnaaka illaa rahmatal lil’aalameen
Sahih International:
And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds.

قُلۡ إِنَّمَا يُوحَىٰٓ إِلَيَّ أَنَّمَآ إِلَٰهُكُمۡ إِلَٰهٞ وَٰحِدٞۖ فَهَلۡ أَنتُم مُّسۡلِمُونَ
21:108play_arrow
Qul innamaa yoohaa ilaiya annamaaa ilaahukum illaahunw Waahid, fahal antum muslimoon
Sahih International:
Say, “It is only revealed to me that your god is but one God; so will you be Muslims [in submission to Him]?”

فَإِن تَوَلَّوۡاْ فَقُلۡ ءَاذَنتُكُمۡ عَلَىٰ سَوَآءٖۖ وَإِنۡ أَدۡرِيٓ أَقَرِيبٌ أَم بَعِيدٞ مَّا تُوعَدُونَ
21:109play_arrow
Fa in tawallaw faqul aazantukum ‘alaa sawaaa’; wa in adreee aqareebun am ba’eedun maa too’adoon
Sahih International:
But if they turn away, then say, “I have announced to [all of] you equally. And I know not whether near or far is that which you are promised.

إِنَّهُۥ يَعۡلَمُ ٱلۡجَهۡرَ مِنَ ٱلۡقَوۡلِ وَيَعۡلَمُ مَا تَكۡتُمُونَ
21:110play_arrow
Innahoo ya’lamul jahra minal qawli wa ya’lamu maa taktumoon
Sahih International:
Indeed, He knows what is declared of speech, and He knows what you conceal.

وَإِنۡ أَدۡرِي لَعَلَّهُۥ فِتۡنَةٞ لَّكُمۡ وَمَتَٰعٌ إِلَىٰ حِينٖ
21:111play_arrow
Wa in adree la’allahoo fitnatul lakum wa mataa’un ilaaheen
Sahih International:
And I know not; perhaps it is a trial for you and enjoyment for a time.”

قَٰلَ رَبِّ ٱحۡكُم بِٱلۡحَقِّۗ وَرَبُّنَا ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنُ ٱلۡمُسۡتَعَانُ عَلَىٰ مَا تَصِفُونَ
21:112play_arrow
Qaala Rabbih kum bil haqq; wa Rabbunar Rahmaa nul musta’aanu ‘alaa maa tasifoon (section 7)
Sahih International:
[The Prophet] has said, “My Lord, judge [between us] in truth. And our Lord is the Most Merciful, the one whose help is sought against that which you describe.”
