Surah Al-Imran Ayat 162 in Arabic Text

أَفَمَنِ ٱتَّبَعَ رِضْوَٰنَ ٱللَّهِ كَمَنۢ بَآءَ بِسَخَطٍۢ مِّنَ ٱللَّهِ وَمَأْوَىٰهُ جَهَنَّمُ ۚ وَبِئْسَ ٱلْمَصِيرُ
Afamanit taba’a Ridwaanal laahi kamam baaa’a bisakhatim minal laahi wa ma’waahu Jahannam; wa bi’sal maseer

English Translation

Here you can read various translations of verse 162

Sahih International
So is one who pursues the pleasure of Allah like one who brings upon himself the anger of Allah and whose refuge is Hell? And wretched is the destination.

Yusuf Ali
Is the man who follows the good pleasure of Allah Like the man who draws on himself the wrath of Allah, and whose abode is in Hell?- A woeful refuge!

Abul Ala Maududi
Is he who follows the good pleasure of Allah like him who is laden with Allah’s wrath and whose abode is Hell? How evil that is for a resting-place!

Muhsin Khan
Is then one who follows (seeks) the good Pleasure of Allah (by not taking illegally a part of the booty) like the one who draws on himself the Wrath of Allah (by taking a part of the booty illegally – Ghulul)? – his abode is Hell, – and worst, indeed is that destination!

Pickthall
Is one who followeth the pleasure of Allah as one who hath earned condemnation from Allah, whose habitation is the Fire, a hapless journey’s end?

Dr. Ghali
Then is he who closely follows the all-blessed satisfaction of Allah like him who has drawn upon (himself) wrath from Allah and whose abode is Hell? And miserable is the Destiny!

Abdel Haleem
Can the man who pursues God’s good pleasure be like the man who has brought God’s wrath upon himself and whose home will be Hell- a foul destination?
