Quran 37 Verse 158 Explanation

For those looking for commentary to help with the understanding of Surah Saffat ayat 158, we’ve provided two Tafseer works below. The first is the tafseer of Abul Ala Maududi, the second is of Ibn Kathir.

Ala-Maududi

(37:158) They have established a kinship between Allah and the angels;[89] and the angels know well that these people will be arraigned (as culprits).

89. Though the word used is al-jinnah instead of almalaikah, some major commentators have opined that here the word jinn has been used for malaikah in its literal sense (of hidden creation); malaikah (angels) also are, in reality, a hidden creation, and the following theme also demands that al jinnah here be taken in the sense of al-malaikah.

Ibn-Kathir

The tafsir of Surah As-Saffat verse 158 by Ibn Kathir is unavailable here.
