Surah Al-A’raf Ayat 36 in Arabic Text

وَٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُواْ بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا وَٱسۡتَكۡبَرُواْ عَنۡهَآ أُوْلَـٰٓئِكَ أَصۡحَٰبُ ٱلنَّارِۖ هُمۡ فِيهَا خَٰلِدُونَ
Wallazeena kazzaboo bi Aayaatinaa wastakbaroo ‘an haaa ulaaa’ika Ashaabun naari hum feehaa khaalidoon

English Translation

Here you can read various translations of verse 36

Sahih International
But the ones who deny Our verses and are arrogant toward them – those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide therein eternally.

Yusuf Ali
But those who reject Our signs and treat them with arrogance,- they are companions of the Fire, to dwell therein (for ever).

Abul Ala Maududi
And those who reject Our revelations as false and turn away from them in arrogance, they shall be the inmates of Hell; and there shall they abide.

Muhsin Khan
But those who reject Our Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) and treat them with arrogance, they are the dwellers of the (Hell) Fire, they will abide therein forever.

Pickthall
But they who deny Our revelations and scorn them – each are rightful owners of the Fire; they will abide therein.

Dr. Ghali
And the ones who have cried lies to Our signs and waxed proud against them, those will be the companions of the Fire; they are therein eternally (abiding).

Abdel Haleem
But those who reject Our revelations and arrogantly scorn them are the people of the Fire and there they will remain.

Muhammad Junagarhi
اور جو لوگ ہمارے ان احکام کو جھٹلائیں اور ان سے تکبر کریں وه لوگ دوزخ والے ہوں گے وه اس میں ہمیشہ ہمیشہ رہیں گے

Quran 7 Verse 36 Explanation

Ala-Maududi

(7:36) And those who reject Our revelations as false and turn away from them in arrogance, they shall be the inmates of Hell; and there shall they abide.[28]


28. Reference to the continuous unremitting punishment of the unbelievers occurs invariably on occasions where the Qur’an narrates the coming down of Adam and Eve from Paradise. See (Surah Al-Baqarah, ayat 38-39); (Surah TaHa, 123-124) What has been said here should be considered in relation to the fact that at the very start of man’s earthly life he was informed of the evil results of unbelief. See Towards (Surah Al-Imran, ayat 81) note 69.
