Surah Ash-Shu’ara Ayat 201 in Arabic Text

لَا يُؤۡمِنُونَ بِهِۦ حَتَّىٰ يَرَوُاْ ٱلۡعَذَابَ ٱلۡأَلِيمَ

Laa yu’minoona bihee hattaa yarawul ‘azaabal aleem

English Translation

Ala-Maududi

(26:201) They will not believe in it until they clearly see the grievous chastisement.^[126]

126. That is, until the criminals are actually overtaken by the torment, they do not believe in the Prophet. Then they feel remorse and desire to be given some respite when it is too late.

Ibn-Kathir
