English Translation

So I fled from you when I feared you. Then my Lord granted me wisdom and prophethood and appointed me [as one] of the messengers.
“So I fled from you (all) when I feared you; but my Lord has (since) invested me with judgment (and wisdom) and appointed me as one of the messengers.
Then I fled for fear of you. Then my Lord bestowed wisdom and authority on me and made me one of the Messengers.
“So I fled from you when I feared you. But my Lord has granted me Hukman (i.e. religious knowledge, right judgement of the affairs and Prophethood), and appointed me as one of the Messengers.
Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord vouchsafed me a command and appointed me (of the number) of those sent (by Him).
So I fled from you as soon as I feared you. Then my Lord bestowed upon me judgment and He made me one of the Emissaries.
and I fled from you in fear; later my Lord gave me wisdom and made me one of His messengers.
پھر تم سے خوف کھا کر میں تم میں سے بھاگ گیا، پھر مجھے میرے رب نے حکم و علم عطا فرمایا اور مجھے اپنے پیغمبروں میں سے کر دیا

Ala-Maududi
(26:21) Then I fled for fear of you. Then my Lord bestowed wisdom and authority on me[17] and made me one of the Messengers.
17. The word hukm means wisdom, knowledge or authority, which is granted by Allah to a Prophet so that he may speak with confidence and power.
