English Translation

They said, “We worship idols and remain to them devoted.”
They said: “We worship idols, and we remain constantly in attendance on them.”
They answered: “There are some idols that we worship and are devoted to them with constancy.”
They said: “We worship idols, and to them we are ever devoted.”
They said: We worship idols, and are ever devoted unto them.
They said, “We worship idols, so we linger on consecrating (ourselves) to them.”
They said, ‘We worship idols, and are constantly in attendance on them.’
انہوں نے جواب دیا کہ عبادت کرتے ہیں بتوں کی، ہم تو برابر ان کے مجاور بنے بیٹھے ہیں

Ala-Maududi
(26:71) They answered: “There are some idols that we worship and are devoted to them with constancy.”[52]
52. Though everybody knew that they worshiped idols, their answer implied that they were firm in faith and their hearts were satisfied with it, as if to say: We also know that these are idols of stone and wood, which we worship, but our faith demands that we should serve and worship them devotedly.
